Johnson County Public Library Celebrates Grand Opening of Expansion with Ribbon Cutting

The Johnson County Public Library celebrated the grand opening of the expansion project with a ribbon cutting on Thursday, April 16. Phase one of the expansion includes a new lobby to the main building, the addition of a stand-alone community meeting space, and an office building which houses the Arkansas River Valley Regional Library System headquarters, allowing the office to be more centrally located within the region it serves. Library staff hosting the event were (from left) Kenya Windel, assistant regional director; Misty Hawkins, regional director; Korri Schuster, user services coordinator; James Ritchie, branch manager; Lydia Gunter, assistant branch manager; Tyler-Jay Gale, collection manager; and Ora Jane Harrell, library assistant. Not pictured are Mitzi Sears and Arely Saucedo-Castañeda, library assistants.
