Clarksville Sets July 13 Hearings On Two Data Center Bond Proposals
LOCAL GOVERNMENT COVERAGE -DATA CENTER
Clarksville officials will hold two public hearings July 13 at city hall on proposed industrial development revenue bonds tied to data center projects planned within the city.
The hearings involve separate proposals for SF ARK1, LLC and Hatchbo LLC under Arkansas Amendment 65 and Act 9 authority, according to legal notices published by the city.
The SF ARK1 proposal calls for the issuance of up to $5 billion in taxable industrial development revenue bonds. The Hatchbo LLC proposal calls for the issuance of up to $50 billion in taxable industrial development revenue bonds.
Both hearings will take place in the conference room at city hall, 205 Walnut St., prior to the regularly scheduled City Council meeting at 6:30 p.m. that evening. The SF ARK1 hearing is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., followed by the Hatchbo LLC hearing at 5:45 p.m.
Under the proposals, the city of Clarksville would issue the bonds and own the facilities during the financing term, with the properties leased to the private companies for operation.
Residents may attend the hearings and provide oral or written comments on the proposed bond issuances and the location and nature of the projects.
A more detailed look at the proposals and financing structure will appear in the July 8 edition.
The legal notices may be viewed on Page 14 of the July 1 edition.
