Arthur A. Davenport

Arthur Alan Davenport, 54, of Hartman died Friday, June 20, 2003, at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the American Legion, Hartman Cemetery Association, and the Military Order of the Purple Heart, a Vietnam Purple Heart recipient, son of the late Lonnie Dallas and Annie Belle Marvel Davenport, and employed as a waterproofer.

Survivors include his widow, Debra Lynn Cremer Davenport; one daughter, Annie Marie Sampley of Ozark; three sons, Mark Alan Davenport of Clarksville and Kevin Wayne Davenport and Terence Adam Davenport, both of Hartman; three sisters, Bonnie McFadden of Coal Hill, June Johnson of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Anna Davenport of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Lonnie Dallas Davenport and Roy Thomas Davenport, both of Coal Hill; and four grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie Tidwell and Rev. Vernon Bass officiating.

Burial was in Hartman Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Jerry Estep, Larry Roberts, James Smith, Don Hurst, Larry Griffin, and Robert Liptak.

Honorary pallbearers were David Crocker, Mike Jacobs, Tom Dorney and Randy Daugherty.

Cecil Martin

Cecil Martin, 67, of Evansville died Friday, June 20, 2003, at the Cancer Treatment Center in Tulsa, Okla.

He was a retired truck driver, member of the Assembly of God Church, and son of the late James Frank and Nettie Reed Martin.

Survivors include his widow, Melvina Willis Martin; one daughter, Doris Foster of Stilwell, Okla.; three sons, Rev. Doyle Martin and Rev. Doug Martin, both of Muldrow, Okla., and Rev. Darrell Martin of Uniontown; four sisters, Lucille Willis of Knoxville, Velma Mason of Gentry, Zelma Boen of Ozark, and Betty Morse of Lamar; three brothers, Joel Martin of Lamar, Dorsie Martin of Springdale, and Dale Martin of Hartman; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, at the First Assembly of God Church in Clarksville with Rev. Darrell Martin, Rev. Doug Martin, and Rev. Carl Sory officiating.

Burial was in the Batson Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Rusty Martin, Larry Willis, George Willis, Paul Mason, Wayne Rothmeyer, and Mark Morse.

Honorary pallbearers were Mike Morse, Ronald Martin, Dewayne Melson, Lavonne Collins, James Martin, Rodney Martin, and Tommy Willis.

Margie R. Moore

Margie Rae Sexton Moore, 72, of Clarksville died June 18, 2003, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.

She was a retired factory employee, Baptist, daughter of the late Corbett and Rosie Acord Sexton, widow of Junior L. Moore, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Bowen and Dean Kraus; two brothers, Verner Sexton and Earnest Sexton; and one great-grandson, Logan Wilson.

Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Kay Wilson of Ozone and Connie Sue Moore of Russellville; one son, Alan Ray Moore of Van Buren; one sister, Argie Williams of Clarksville; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating. Burial was in Oark Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Travis Wilson, Todd Wilson, Shane Gray, Daniel Sanborn, Mike Moore, and Jason Moore.

Ona M. Cox

Ona M. Cox, 74, of Hunt died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at her home.

She was a native of Stigler, Okla., daughter of the late Robert C. and Bertie B. Fultz Morrow, and widow of Robert E. Cox.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda S. James of Hartman; two sons, Robert Cox Jr. of Nevada, Texas, and Johnny L. Cox of New Braunfels, Texas; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at Liberty Hill Cemetery with Rev. Orla Larson officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Eddie King, Paul Timmerman, David Davidson, Michael J. G. Morrow, Rick Grigsby, and Bud Morrow.

Sidney G. Banker Jr.

Sidney G. Banker Jr., 68, of Lamar died June 17, 2003, at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock.

He was a teacher and a truck driver and son of the late Mr and Mrs. Sidney G. (Pauline Smith) Banker Sr.

Survivors include his widow, Barbara Gayle Banker; five stepsons, Kavin McCarley, Keith McCarley and John Belcher, all of Lamar, and Mike Johnson and Shannon Johnson, both of Oklahoma; and six grandchildren.

The body was cremated.

Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Mary R. Willis

Mary R. Willis, 90, of Clarksville died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.

She was a native of Tillar, daughter of the late James Henry and Ellafair Jones Lewis, widow of Burl L. Willis, and a retired food processing plant employee.

She is survived by one daughter, LaWanda Ross of Batesville; one son, Clyde Willis of Salus; two sisters, Fannie Mae Abston of Dumas and Lettie Ring of Modesto, Calif.; one brother, Cleveland Lewis of McGehee; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ransom Storms officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
