Clarksville Softball Wins Against Westside

The Clarksville Lady Panther softball team earned a win over Westside last week before falling to both Ozark and Pottsville.
Westside
The Lady Panthers picked up a road win Monday night, 12-1, at Westside.
Brylyn Kremers earned the win in the circle. Kremers gave up five hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking one.
The Lady Panthers got on the board in the first inning with Tosca Rodgerson hitting a single on a line drive to left field. Allie Willis singled on a line drive to right field to move Rodgerson to third. Briley Howard hit a sacrifice fly ball to center to score Rodgerson.
The Lady Rebels tied it up in the bottom of the first on error by the Lady Panthers.
The Lady Panthers opened up their lead in the top of the third inning scoring six runs. Addison Phillips got it started, hitting a single, and Rodgerson hit a double to left field to score Phillips. Rodgerson stole third and scored on a single by Willis. Shelby Taylor drove in Willis on a ground out. Rita Mitchell singled to score Howard, and Morgan Shook doubled on a line drive to left field to score Mitchell. Lillian Brott reached on an error, and Shook scored for the sixth and final run of the inning.
Clarksville add to its lead in the top of the fourth, driving in four more runs. Rodgerson led off the inning on a single and advanced to third on a throwing error. Willis singled to right field to score Rodgerson, and Mitchell singled to left field to score Willis. Shook hit her second double of the game to move Mitchell to third, and Brott doubled to center field to score Mitchell and Shook.
The Lady Panthers scored their final run in the top of the fifth inning to extend their lead to 12 with Willis scoring on Mitchell’s third single of the night.
Clarksville collected 15 hits on the night, with a big night from Shook, who went three-for-three with two doubles. Rodgerson was three-for-four with a double and two singles, while Willis and Mitchell each collected three singles in four at-bats.
Phillips and Howard each earned a single, and Brott had a double.
The Lady Panthers earned three walks on the night with Shook, Willis, and Taylor each earning one walk.
Ozark
The Lady Panthers fell in extra innings to Ozark, 5-4, on Tuesday, April 14.
Kremers took the loss in the circle, going the distance over all eight innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on 10 hits, one strikeout and three walks.
Ozark got on the board first in the top of the second inning, but Clarksville tied it in the bottom of the inning. Taylor led off the inning with a single to right field and scored on a bunt by Mitchell, who reached on an error.
Ozark regained the lead in the top of the fifth, scoring two runs, but Clarksville would once again take the lead in the bottom of the inning, scoring three runs to lead it 4-3.
Phillips got the rally started with two outs by reaching on an error by the second baseman. Rodgerson singled on a line drive to center field to advance Phillips to third. Phillips later stole home, and Rodgerson stole second. Willis reached on a dropped third strike.
Howard doubled down the left field line to score Rodgerson, and Taylor got her second single of the night, driving in Willis.
Ozark would tie the score in the top of the sixth inning, 4-4, on a sacrifice bunt and throwing error by Clarksville. In extra innings, Ozark was able to drive in a run on a ground out.
Rodgerson and Taylor led the Lady Panthers with two hits each. Phillips, Howard, and Shook each had one hit. The Lady Panthers turned one double play on the night with Phillips catching a line drive to double up the runner at first to Howard.
Pottsville
Pottsville scored eight runs in the first inning to defeat Clarksville 15-0 on Friday night, April 17.
Kremers got the start in the circle, going three innings and giving up 11 runs (six earned) on 10 hits, with three strikeouts and three walks. Shook came on in the final two innings in relief and gave up four runs on three hits with two strikeouts and three walks.
Mitchell got the lone hit for the Lady Panthers with a single in the bottom of the second inning.
