Lamar Jr. Track Teams Take 3rd At District

The Lamar Junior High girls and boys track teams competed in the 3A-4 Junior District Meet at Mansfield on Tuesday, April 21, with both teams placing third.

Leading the boys team were Sylis Kraus, who took first place in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:29.84 and Luke Moore, who clocked a 50.51 in the 300-meter hurdles for second place.

The 4×800-meter relay team of Matthew Flores, Cash Manning, Kooper Colvin and Ryan Jones also took second place with a time of 10:26.55.

In the girls division, Brianna Bush took second place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.32 and finished third in the high jump at 4’6”.

The 4×800-meter relay team of Macy Marlow, Camila Flores, Nevaeh Ruffaner and Avery Mashburn finished in second place with a time of 12:22.80.

400-meter dash: Loralei Rye, seventh place, 1:13.15; Bella Turner, 12th place, 1:16.26.

1,600-meter run: Macy Marlow, ninth place, 7:05.84; Avery Mashburn, 10th place, 7:12.29.

100-meter hurdles: Peyton Connor, seventh place, 20.54.

300-meter hurdles: Peyton Connor, third place, 57.49.

4×100-meter relay: Bella Guthrie, Loralei Rye, Presley Dunkel, Audry Estes, third place, 1:02.57.

4×200-meter relay: Bella Turner, Makynli McGuire, Willow Thompson, Breanna Jones, fourth place, 2:25.11.

4×400-meter relay: Hayden Meimerstorf, Macy Marlow, Nevaeh Ruffaner, Camila Flores, fourth place, 6:00.93.

High jump: Peyton Connor, 10th place, 4’; Audry Estes, 12th place (tie), 3’10”; Loralei Rye, 12th place (tie), 3’10”.

Long jump: Audry Estes, 13th place, 11’11”; Loralei Rye, 15th place, 10’9”; Alexa Woo, 19th place, 8’8”.

Triple jump: Avery Mashburn, sixth place, 27’2”; Peyton Connor, seventh place, 27’1”.

Discus: Carys Miranda, fifth place, 71’7”; Hayden Meimerstorf, 12th place, 43’3”; Nekka Whitfield, 13th place, 36’11”; Macy Marlow, 14th place, 36’6”.

Shot put: Hayden Meimerstorf, seventh place, 29’2.5”; Olivia Overbey, 11th place, 26’7”; Bella Guthrie, 12th place, 25’4.5”; Presley Dunkel, 15th place, 24’1”.

100-meter dash: Aiden Sharp, 16th place, 13.46; Ryan Moore, 20th place, 13.86; Cash Manning, 27th place, 15.10.

4×400-meter relay: Matthew Flores, Cash Manning, Kooper Colvin, Sylis Kraus, fourth place, 4:29.26.
