Lamar Bowling Teams Place 2nd In Conference; Warriors, Lady Warriors Qualify For State Match

The Lamar High School boys and girls bowling teams competed in the 3A West Conference Match in Lowell on Thursday, Feb. 5.
Both teams qualified for the 3A State Match, which will be held in Jonesboro on Thursday, Feb. 12.
Boys
The Warriors placed second at the conference match with a team score of 2,964, behind Elkins at 3,616. Lamar finished ahead of Haas Hall Fayetteville (2,890), Valley Springs (2,815), Flippin (2,777) and Lincoln (2,262).
Robert Long finished tied for sixth place individually with a score of 463, earning all-conference honors.
In the first game, Jaden Crotts finished with a score of 160, while Darren Grace bowled a 139 and Robert Long finished at 126. Long led the team in the second game with a score of 188. Deston Price bowled a 150, and Crotts finished with a score of 133. In the third game, Crotts had a team-high score of 164, while Long bowled a 149 and Josh Vaughn finished at 145.
Crotts placed seventh overall with a cumulative score of 457, while Grace tied for 12th with a score of 392 and Sinor placed 16th with a score of 348.
In Bakers games, the Warrior combination of Cash Sinor, Kole Wadkins, Grace, Long and Crotts bowled a 126, while the team of Vaughn, Levi Harvey, Wadkins, Sinor and Crotts finished with a score of 116.
Girls
The Lady Warriors placed second at the conference match with a team score of 2,288, behind Lincoln at 2,427. Lamar finished ahead of Flippin (2,163), Valley Springs (1,906) and Elkins (578).
Bella Edrington placed second individually with a cumulative score of 398, while Ashlyn Hays scored 338, tying for third place. Both earned all-conference honors.
In the first game, Hays finished with a score of 126, while McKenzie Dewberry bowled a 116 and Hannah Cortez scored 110. In the second game, Edrington bowled a team-high 155, while Cortez finished at 109 and Hays scored 95. Edrington led in the third game as well, bowling a 137. Cortez finished with a score of 118 and Hays was close behind with 117.
Cortez finished fourth overall with a score of 332. Dewberry tied for 17th place with a cumulative score of 265, Stella Gilley placed 20th at 217 and Gracie Rainey scored 213 for 21st place.
In Bakers games, the combination of Hays, Gilley, Dewberry, Cortez and Edrington scored 126. The team of Hays, Rainey, Dewberry, Cortez and Edrington bowled a 122.
