Ozark Is Runner-Up At Bank OZK Classic

The Ozark Lady Hillbillies fell in the championship game of the Bank OZK Classic Dec. 30 to finish as tournament runner-up. Ozark (5-12) defeated Lavaca and County Line to advance to the title game.
Lavaca
Ozark beat Lavaca 52-36 in the opening round of the Bank OZK Classic on Friday, Dec. 27.
The Lady Hillbillies shot 19-of-62 (31 percent) from the field, six-of-18 (33 percent) from three-point range and grabbed 40 rebounds.
Lilly Powell led the scoring with 17 points. Rylee Satterfield was also in double figures with 10 points. Sydnie Herriage led in rebounding with 15.
Brooklyn Akers and Herriage each scored eight points. Emily Miller contributed four points, while Macy Fox added three and Makiah Jones chipped in two.
Powell grabbed seven rebounds. Miller pulled down six boards, while Fox had four and Satterfield and Jones each collected three. Akers had two rebounds on the night.
Ozark was six-of-12 (50 percent) at the free-throw line. Powell made five of seven attempts and Akers was one-for-two.
County Line
The Lady Hillbillies defeated County Line 53-46 in the second round of the Classic on Saturday, Dec. 28.
Ozark shot 17-of-48 (35 percent) from the field, 10-of-22 (46 percent) from three-point range and grabbed 25 rebounds.
Akers led the scoring with 19 points and had three rebounds. Powell scored 16 points and pulled down six rebounds.
Fox finished with eight points and eight rebounds. Satterfield tallied six points and one rebound, while Herriage scored four points and collected three boards.
Miller and Jones each grabbed two rebounds and Satterfield had one.
Ozark shot 69 percent (nine-of-13) at the free-throw line. Akers made all four of her attempts and Powell made four of six attempts. Fox went one-for-one.
Shiloh Christian
Ozark lost to Shiloh Christian 63-28 in the championship game on Monday, Dec. 30.
The Lady Hillbillies shot nine-of-29 (31 percent) from the field, three-of-12 (25 percent) from three-point range and grabbed 23 rebounds.
Akers led the scoring with nine points. Jones finished with six points while Satterfield had five and Miller and Herriage each scored four.
Herriage led on the boards with 12 rebounds. Fox collected five and Miller and Jones each grabbed two.
Ozark went seven-of-12 (58 percent) at the free-throw line. Akers made four of eight attempts, while Herriage was two-for-two and Jones made one of two attempts.
Ozark will play a conference game at Waldron on Friday, Jan. 10.
