The Ozark Hillbillies earned wins over two conference opponents last week, securing a 4A-4 co-championship for the regular season with a 9-1 record.
Mena
The senior high boys jumped on Mena early on their way to a 65-37 win on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
Easton Fox led Ozark with 15 points and five rebounds. Cooper Duerr had 12 points, and Caleb Lyons recorded eight in the victory.
Waldron
The final regular season game for Ozark came at Waldron on Thursday, Feb. 12, and Duerr and Lyons got things rolling with 17 points apiece in the first half.
The Bulldogs were tough on senior night and stormed back to take a lead in the third quarter, but Ozark steadied the ship and pulled out a 73-61 victory.
Duerr led the way with 31 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Lyons hit six three-pointers and finished with 22 points, seven steals and five rebounds. He set the career school record by making his 223rd career three-pointer, breaking the previous record of 221 set by Ethan Masingale.
John Skolarski had a strong game with 10 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals.
The Hillbillies hold an overall record of 24-4 and are the number two seed in the district tournament at Dardanelle. They will play at 7:45 p.m. Thursday against the winner of Tuesday’s game between Dardanelle and Clarksville.
