Clarksville Board Approves Two E-rate Bids
The Clarksville School Board met in special session on Wednesday, April 8, and approved two e-rate bids.
A category one bid with Clarksville Connected Utilities (CCU) network was approved, with 90% of the cost covered and the district responsible for 10% of the expenses.
The total annual cost of the project is $249,798.20 before taxes, with a $20,816.52 monthly reoccurring cost. The E-rate portion of the project is $224,818.44 for the total annual cost, and $18,734.87 monthly recurring cost.
The district’s share is $24,979.80 annually, with a $2,081.65 monthly recurring cost.
The non-recurring cost is $17,710 with, $15,939 covered by e-rate, and $1,771 in district costs.
For the category two bid with CDWG, e-rate will cover 85% of the project, with the district responsible for 15% of the cost.
The total project cost is $129,758.25, with $110,294.51 to be covered by e-rate, leaving the district responsible for the remaining $19,463.70.
Both e-rate items passed with a vote of 4-0. Board member Sterling Penix was absent from the meeting.
Personnel
The Board also approved personnel changes for the 2026-27 school year.
Resignations approved included Ethan Bowman, head basketball coach and physical education teacher; Austin Palazzi, algebra teacher and baseball coach; Jessica Pitts, accounts payable clerk; and Aaron England, boys cross country coaching duties only.
The retirement of Yvonne Broyles, second grade teacher, was also accepted.
New hires approved included Cassandra Bridges, purchasing clerk; Sharla Fultz, gifted and talented coordinator; and Kayla L. Holt, seventh grade cheer coach.
Contract renewals included Brett Ballard, junior high teacher; and TaEh Kue, primary school migrant tutor.
Temporary work agreements were approved for Angela Nybye, bus barn and maintenance custodian; and Gage Reed, Kaden Dougan, and Troy Lewis for support services and technology summer help, as needed.
The transfer of Tarrah White from primary school instructional facilitator to junior high/high school Spanish teacher was also approved.
