Lakyn Sanders was employed as head junior high and seventh grade girls basketball coach at the Lamar School Board meeting on Wednesday, March 11.
Sanders will also serve as assistant senior high girls’ basketball coach.
Sanders is a 2020 graduate of Lamar High School and a 2024 graduate of the University of the Ozarks. She was a member of both the Lady Warrior and UofO Eagles basketball teams. Sanders just completed her second year as head senior high girls coach at Paris High School.
The district released the following statement, “Lakyn brings great energy, passion for the game, and a strong commitment to helping our student-athletes grow both on and off the court. We are proud to have her back in orange and black and look forward to the impact she will have on our girls’ basketball program.”
Other Matters
-Also at the meeting, Gary Hogrefe was employed as a middle school teacher.
-The Board approved the 2026-27 salary schedule.
