Warriors Roll Over Three Opponents

The Lamar Warriors improved to 24-6 overall and 14-2 in conference play with wins over three conference opponents last week.
Lamar beat Charleston and Lavaca on the road before returning home for a win over Cossatot River on Senior Night.
The Warriors finished the regular season as the number two seed in the conference and will play in the 3A-4 District Tournament at 8 p.m. on Thursday in Charleston.
Charleston
The Warriors traveled to Charleston on Tuesday, Feb. 10, and defeated the Tigers 64-46.
Lamar trailed 17-11 at the end of the first quarter but outscored the Tigers 20-10 in the second quarter to carry a 31-27 lead into halftime. The Warriors added 15 points in the third period and held Charleston to nine points. In the fourth quarter, Lamar scored 18 points and the Tigers posted 10.
Senior Kaz Crotts poured in 32 points to lead the team in the win. He also collected six rebounds, dished out two assists, stole the ball once and blocked one shot.
Kade Boen added nine points. Eli Jones, J.J. Humphrey and Easton Leeds each contributed six points, and Kasen Humphrey scored three.
J.J. Humphrey pulled down a team-high nine rebounds, led in blocked shots with four and stole the ball once. Jones grabbed eight boards and one steal. Boen finished with six rebounds, four assists and one steal.
Leeds and Kasen Humphrey each had four rebounds. Leeds also recorded a team-high eight steals and six assists.
Lavaca
On Thursday, Feb. 12, Lamar earned a 67-50 win over the Lavaca Golden Arrows on the road.
The Warriors oustscored Lavaca 13-5 in the first quarter and 19-14 in the second for a 32-19 lead at intermission. In the third period, Lamar poured in 21 points and held the Golden Arrows to 12 points. Lavaca outscored the Warriors 19-14 in the fourth quarter.
Boen led in scoring with 23 points. He also scored his 1,000th career point during the game.
Also in double figures were Crotts with 19 points and Jones with 11. J.J. Humphrey tallied six points. Karsten Schluterman and Alec DeYoung each scored three points, and Kyler Parmenter rounded out the scoring with two points.
J.J. Humphrey grabbed seven rebounds, dished out four assists, stole the ball three times and blocked two shots. Leeds had seven assists, four rebounds and two steals.
Crotts recorded five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Boen pulled down three boards, stole the ball three times and dished out two assists. Jones also had three rebounds and three steals while recording one assist.
Schluterman stole the ball twice, grabbed one rebound, dished out one assist and blocked one shot. Kasen Humphrey had two assists, one rebound and one steal. Brailon Carr and Carsten Nordin each grabbed one rebound, while Carr also had one assist.
Cossatot River
Lamar won over the Cossatot River Eagles by a score of 73-38 on Senior Night Friday, Feb. 13.
The Warriors jumped out to a 23-7 lead after the opening quarter and outscored Cossatot River 21-7 in the second quarter for a 44-14 halftime lead. In the third period, Lamar added 22 points to the board while the Eagles scored 12. The Warriors totaled seven points in the final quarter, while Cossatot River scored 12.
J.J. Humphrey scored a team-high 17 points for Lamar in the win. Leeds was also in double figures with 15 points, and Boen was close behind with 14.
Jones added eight points. Darren Grace and DeYoung scored five points each. Nordin contributed four points, while Schluterman chipped in three and Kasen Humphrey added two.
