The Clarksville Panthers earned their first win of the season with a 72-50 rout of the Waldron Bulldogs on Friday, Feb. 6.
The victory came on the Panthers’ senior night, when three senior team members, Colton Harp, Ben Holland and Jeremiah Wilkerson, were honored prior to the game.
Clarksville trailed 14-9 at the end of the first quarter, but the Panthers outscored the Bulldogs 20-9 in the second period, largely behind strong three-point shooting, to carry a 29-23 lead into intermission. Clarksville poured in 22 third-quarter points and held the Bulldogs to 12 points. In the fourth quarter, the Panthers added 21 points to the board and allowed 15 by Waldron.
Harp scored a team-high 21 points in the win, including four three-pointers. Sophomores Zayne Jordan and Connor Chism were also in double figures with 13 points each.
Dax Vaughn added nine points, and Wilkerson finished with eight. Holland rounded out the scoring with two points.
