Hartman Radio Communication Tower Erected

The new radio communication tower in Hartman was erected on Thursday, Jan. 15. The tower, which will improve emergency communication in an area which has previously had little to no service, is one of two being funded by the county. The second tower is located in the Oark area. The Johnson County Quorum Court appropriated $600,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds for the two towers. The towers will serve law enforcement, fire services and emergency medical service needs. KA-Comm of Salina, Kan., is the contractor for the project.
