Johnson County Represented By Six at Miss Arkansas and Arkansas Teen

For the first time in the Miss Arkansas competition two sisters, Graceanne Morgan (left) and Carleigh Morgan will be vying for two separate titles. Graceanne with the title of Miss Johnson County will be competing for Miss Arkansas and Carleigh with the title of Miss Johnson County Teen will be competing for Miss Arkansas Teen. They are the daughters of Rocky and Ashley Morgan of Lamar and a cousin to Marilyn Morgan, Miss Arkansas 1971.

Johnson County will be represented by six young women competing in a group of 47 Miss and 41 Teens from around the state at the Robinson Performance Hall in Little Rock June 7-14 in the Miss Arkansas/Miss Arkansas Teen scholarship competition. For the first time Miss Arkansas will have sisters, Graceanne Morgan and Carleigh Morgan, with the titles of Johnson County competing for the Miss and Teen Miss titles. They also are the cousins of Marilyn Morgan, Miss Arkansas 1971.

Competing for the title of Miss Arkansas are Miss Johnson County Graceanne Morgan, daughter of Rocky and Ashley Morgan, of Lamar. Her talent is a vocal and her community service initiative is “Courage Behind the Curtain;” Miss Arkansas Valley Madison Brooke Garay, daughter of Viola and Adolf Garay, of El Dorado. Her talent is a saxophone performance and her community service initiative is “Project Pack & Sack;” and Miss Ozark Highlands Alayna Turner, daughter of Hoyt and Lonene Turner, of Mansfield. Her talent is a vocal and her community service initiative is “PTSD: Encourage to Empower-Advocating Awareness for the Veteran and Military Families.”

Vying to become Miss Arkansas Teen are Miss Johnson County Teen Carleigh Morgan, daughter of Rocky and Ashley Morgan, of Lamar. Her talent is a vocal and her community service initiative is “Let’s C.A.R.E. Be Food Allergy Aware;” Miss Arkansas Valley Teen Makayla Harrell, daughter of Rick and Rechel Harrell, of Russellville. She will perform a contemporary dance and her community service initiative is “OPEN ARMS: Arms to Serve and Lead through Service;” and Miss Ozark Highlands Michaelina Bell, daughter of Josh and Kelly Bell of Danville. Her talent is a vocal and her community service initiative is “Making Memories with Merriment.”

Competition kicks of Saturday, June 7, with the official arrival ceremonies which will take place at the Arkansas State Capitol with the contestants beginning at 2:30 p.m.
These ladies will spend the next few days in rehearsals for their on-stage performances, and competing in private interview with a panel of judges.
Competition will continue throughout the week with preliminaries taking place Tuesday through Friday June 10-12. The Miss Arkansas Teen preliminary competitions will begin at 3 p.m. each day followed by the Miss Arkansas preliminary competition beginning at 7 p.m. daily.

The crowning of Miss Arkansas Teen 2025 will take place on Friday, June 13, beginning at 7 p.m. while the crowning of Miss Arkansas 2025 will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 14.
All competitions will be held at the Robinson Performance Hall in Little Rock and will feature reigning Miss Arkansas Camille Cathey and Miss Arkansas Teen Bella Crowe along with 187 Diamond State Princesses and Princes from around the state.

For those unable to attend the competitions in person, each of the preliminary competitions and the finals for both Miss Arkansas Teen and Miss Arkansas will be streamed on missarkansaslive.com . On Saturday night, June 14, the final night of competition and crowning will be broadcast live on KARK Channel 4 beginning at 7 p.m.
This year the candidates will compete for over $306,000 in scholarships. We are thankful for the generous supporters and volunteers within this program who make these opportunities possible for the young women in Arkansas.
