Westside Opens High School Girls Basketball Coaching Position

by Stephanie Baker

Approximately 25 people, a combination of parents, students, and staff, attended the Westside School Board meeting on Wednesday, April 16, with the intent of voicing their support for WHS girls’ basketball coach Karra Busch to remain employed.

After nine years with the district, Busch will not be offered a contract for the 2025-26 school year.

The open position for next school year was posted on the district’s Facebook page on Thursday.

The supporters were informed before the Board entered executive session they would not be allowed to address the Board, as they were not included on the agenda prior to the meeting.

While the Board was in executive session, multiple individuals voiced their frustrations about not being added to the meeting agenda, despite an email request.

Over a dozen of the supporters stated they intended to come back to the next meeting, to again voice their support for Busch, after petitioning to be added to the upcoming agenda.

Busch herself was invited into executive session to meet with the Board…The full story can be found in the April 23 edition of The Graphic, found in businesses throughout Johnson and Franklin counties.
