by Vernon McDaniel

Winning state and national awards is nothing new to Ozark High School history teacher Jessica Culver. At the Oct. 22 Ozark School Board meeting, Culver was announced as Arkansas history teacher of the year. Presenting the award to Culver was Ronda Smith, social studies program advisor with the Arkansas Department of Education. Congratulating her were Ozark Superintendent Zane Vanderpool, along with the entire school Board.

Also honored was OHS student Ava McCartney, who registered 37 people to vote during the summer and will be volunteering at the election polls on Nov. 5.
