JRMC Auxiliary Teams Up With Area Youth

Volunteers in the JRMC Auxiliary sewing committee recently made 50 pillows to donate to the JRMC surgery department for patients recovering from abdominal surgery. A group of children who volunteered alongside the comittee also entered the pillows they made into the Johnson County Fair, where they received ribbons, and one received Judge’s Choice. The project was made possible by a $50 donation from Walmart for supplies. Volunteers included (front row, from left) Skyler Rooks, Kelsey Moon, Brylee Rooks, Donna Dodge; (back row) Phyllis Lawson, JRMC sewing committee chair; Skyler Foreman, Loverinia Moon, Jaden Hern, Mariah Rooks, and Enid Albat. Not pictured are Janet Anderson and Lori VanEperen. “We are so proud of our future sewers for learning and giving of themselves for this project,” said Lawson.
