Dorothy L. Urtado

Dorothy Louise Urtado, 36, of Clarksville died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at her home.

She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Peggy Bernice Urtado, and an employee of Tyson Foods.

Survivors include one daughter, Cailey Christian of Ozark; two sons, Caleb Christian and Colby Christian, both of Ozark; parents, Frank and Connie Urtado of Lamar; one brother, Charles Bruton of Clarksville; grandmother, Dorothy Rose Urtado of Lamar; two nieces, Brittany Bruton and Makenzy Bruton; and one nephew, Bryr Bruton.

Graveside services and burial were at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Lamar Cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Hazel Evadean Farris

Hazel Evadean Skaggs Farris, 77, of Clarksville died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at her home.

She was a daughter of the late Sydney (Sid) and Annie Rose Skaggs and was preceded in death by four brothers, Elmore H. Skaggs, Farris Lee Skaggs, Earnest (Bob) Skaggs and Ira A. Skaggs.

Survivors include her husband, Mervin E. Farris; three daughters, Toni Hunt of Ozark, Donna S. Pitchford of Cabot and Diana L. Hunt of Fort Smith; three sons, Allen W. Farris of Hartman and Larry D. Farris and Michael E. Farris, both of Clarksville; three sisters, Gladys Gipson and Edith Chrisman, both of Clarksville, and Roseanna Woodard of Oklahoma; one brother, Lester Skaggs of Clarksville; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Sory and Pastor Larry Farris Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Oark Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Sonny Sims, Jason Duff, Michael Paul Farris, Clayton Duff, Beau Sims, and Trent Sims.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jody Williams, Larry B. Farris, Tripp Sefcik, Verlon Farris, John Chrisman, Allen W. Farris, Steven Farris, Larry Sims, Michael E. Farris, Jim Pitchford, and Danny Duff.

Leona Belle Cargile

Leona Belle Cargile, 93, of Mulberry, formerly of Clarksville, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011.

She was a native of Dublin, daughter of the late George Cleveland and Bessie Mae Anderson White, member of Altus First Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husbands, Louis B. Fowler and Rannil Cargile; two sons, Amos D. Fowler and Joe D. Fowler; two sisters, Thelma Bridges and Opal Henderson; and one brother, Bob White.

She is survived by one son, Billy Ray Fowler of Alix; two daughters, Peggy Johnson of Longview, Texas, and Anna Underwood of Mulberry; one sister, Georgia Ruth Johnston of Gladewater, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chuck Starnes officiating. Burial will be in Houston Cemetery at Alix.

Active pallbearers will be C.A. Kurkendal, James Albat, Steve Bradley, Ted Skolarski, Gary Morse, and O.D. Hopper.

Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Underwood, David Fowler, Lance Fowler, Allen Fowler, Darrell Fowler, David L. Fowler, Bobby Johnson, Billy Johnson, and Joe Donn Fowler.

Patsy Hammons Boswell

Patsy Hammons Boswell, 57, of Clarksville died Nov. 8, 2011.

She was a native of LaGrange, Ga., daughter of the late Lelton Leon and Laura Linda Chambley Hammons, and member of Dublin Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Gordon Boswell; two stepsons, Michael Boswell of Paris and David Boswell of New York; one stepdaughter, Tracy Boswell of Massachusetts; one brother, Michael Hammons of Georgia; and one sister, Joan Hammons of Georgia.

Crematory arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Raymond Arnold

Raymond Arnold, 95, of Norman, Okla., died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011.

A native of Hartman, he was a son of the late Stant and Kathleen Maskell Arnold, Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and tail gunner in a B-24 shot down in Austria where he was a prisoner of war for a year.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Austin Arnold; and several nieces and nephews including Jackie Davis, Kathleen Nicholas, Charles Callahan, and Rodger Callahan, all of Clarksville.

Crematory arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Valarete Howard Phelps

Valarete Howard Phelps, 83, of Clarksville died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at her home.

She was a native of Warren, daughter of the late Joe Mark and Edna Evelyn Dolan Howard, and preceded in death by two sons; two sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include one daughter, Fran Greer of Hunt; one sister, Margaret A. Baker of Clarksville; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one niece; and two nephews.

Private graveside services and burial will be in the Howard Family Cemetery near McGehee.

Local arrangements were under the direction of Community Funeral Service.
