Bernice Laura Ahrens

Bernice Laura Ahrens, 85, of Lamar died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at her home.

She was a native of Fredericksburg, Texas, daughter of the late Hugo and Estella Grona Knopp, and was preceded in death by one brother, Wesley Knopp; and three sisters, Doreen Smith, Janice Kline and Sandra Hladky.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Arnold John Alfred Ahrens; two daughters, Bonnie (Walter) Kirshberger of Hensley and Ida Ahrens of Lamar; three sons, Arnold Ahrens Jr. of Gravette, and Herman (Kathy) Ahrens and Paul (Bonnie Jo) Ahrens, all of Lamar; one sister, Ethelyn Durst of Fredericksburg, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at River Valley Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Herb Swanson officiating.

Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery at Lutherville under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Chad Ahrens, Shelby Ahrens, Corey Ahrens, Beau Ahrens, Steve Kirshberger, Lang Kirshberger and Leo Knoernschild.

Florence A. Clinton

Florence Amy Rose Clinton, 88, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011.

She was a native of Tow Law, England, daughter of the late Alfred and Jane Elizabeth Rose, confirmed in the Church of England in 1938, a W.A.A.F. in the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom and came to the states in 1949, where she became a naturalized citizen in 1956, retired Department of Human Services employee, and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Clinton; one son, Carl Reed; one grandson, Sammy Cleveland; one brother; four sisters; and one son-in-law, Ron Liebschwager.

Survivors include one son, Craig Clinton of Little Rock; two daughters, Sheila Liebschwager of Austin, Texas, and Marlene (Fred) Dougan of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Cheyne (Heather) Dougan of Clarksville, Piper (Don) Beaudin of Vilonia, David (Patricia) Cleveland of Texas, and Tacy (David) Baker of Conroe, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Liberty Hill Cemetery with Bob Frost officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Karl Wayne Herbst

Karl Wayne Herbst, 26, of Cabot died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011.

He was a native of San Diego, Calif., and employed by the Arkansas State Police.

Survivors include his wife, Cortney Herbst; parents, Clifford and Karron Herbst of Scranton; one brother, John Herbst of Fort Sill, Okla.; and grandparents, Clifford and Adeline Herbst of Texas.

Funeral was at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot followed at 3 p.m. with burial in Prairie View Cemetery at Subiaco.

Roy Donald Hatchett

Roy Donald Hatchett, 68, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Roy Luther and Edna Wood Hatchett, member of Stillwell Bible Baptist Church, retired injection molder, and was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Brown Hatchett; and one son, Paul Hatchett.

Survivors include one son, John (Traci) Hatchett of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Zachary Hatchett of Siloam Springs, and Jaxon Hatchett and Brock Hatchett, both of Little Rock; daughter-in-law, Nina Hatchett of Siloam Springs; brother-in-law, Harold Brown of Clarksville; one aunt, Lois Wood of Huntsville; and two uncles, Kenneth (Mary) Wood of Clarksville and Dewey (Norma) Wood of Catawissa, Mo.

Service and visitation were from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Goodman officiating. The body was cremated.

Lona Louise Ross

Lona Louise Ross, 80, of Hartman died Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Clarksville.

Survivors include her husband, Vernard Ross; one son, Vernard Wayne Ross of Hagarville; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Ernie Dawson of Hunt; grandchildren, Hallie and Matt Young, Amanda and Jorden Kimbriel, Dee and Shawn Bailey, Matt and Jackie Ross, Aaron Ross, Sarah and Tommy Roberson, Keesha Dawson and Ernie Dawson Jr.; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Liberty Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
