Frieda Lorene Knight, 85, of Clarksville died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, in Conway.
She was a native of Russellville, daughter of the late Fred and Walsie Fletcher Sullivan, widow of Virgil Knight, graduate of Russellville High School, member of Second Baptist Church in Clarksville and Clarksville Chapter No. 172 Order of the Eastern Star, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Hampton and Lucille Sullivan.
Survivors include one son, Virgil Don Knight and wife, Traci, of Las Cruces, N.M.; one daughter, Vickie Walker and husband, Jim, of Conway; three grandchildren, Trent Knight and Josh Knight, both of Springdale, and Jevin Smith of Conway; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Price Cemetery at London.
Active pallbearers will be Jim Knight, John Knight, Bruno Hampton, Trent Knight, Josh Knight, and Jevin Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Phillips, Duane Steele, and Edwin Pearrow.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Gladys Kathern Clark, 69, of Vine Grove, Ky., died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011.
She was a native of the Jamestown Community, daughter of the late Glen Richard and Marylee Dougan Hon, and was preceded in death by one brother, Glen Richard Hon Jr.
Survivors include one brother, James Dale Hon of Russellville; 10 children, Gary Paul Hiland, Russell Jr. Clark, David Leo Clark, Dan Clark, Mike Clark, Jason Clark, James Ricard Clark, Mary Kathern, Kristina Star and Zetta Joanna, all of Vine Grove, Ky.; and numerous grandchildren.
Burial was in Vine Grove, Ky.
Grace Annette Franklin, 93, of Clarksville died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011.
She was a native of Kentucky, daughter of the late Peter Dellridge and Mary Louise Allison Furgerson, and attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by two sons, James Franklin of Sebring, Fla., and Randy Franklin of Centralia, Wash.; one daughter, Vereen Lynn Kennelly of Clarksville; two sisters, Shirley Simerly of Michigan and Twilla Matties of Virginia; 10 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Jean Dyches, 67, of Madisonville, Texas, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, in Bryan, Texas.
She was a native of Lamar and daughter of the late Jessell H. and Arabell Davis Clayborn.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Dyches; one son, Walter James Dyches and wife, Melissa, of Katy, Texas; one daughter, Lisa Gallamore and husband, Brian, of Cross Junction, Va.; one brother, Jim Clayborn and wife, Valerie, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; uncle, Dickie Clayborn of Lamar; two nephews, Chris Clayborn and Justin Clayborn; and numerous cousins.
Burial was Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Petree Cemetery near Madisonville, Texas.
Memorials may be made to the National Lupus Foundation or the 100 Club Fallen Police and Firemen.
John A. Buffington, 79, of Lamar died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at his home.
He was a native of Booneville, son of the late David Elijah and Julie Ann Emberson Buffington; retired Johnson County Road Department employee, and was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Lemons Buffington; two sons, Danny Buffington and wife, Linda, of Benton and Neal Buffington and wife, Anna, of Bryant; two daughters, Beverley Hanley and husband, John, of Lamar and Rita Dorney and husband, John, of Hartman; one brother, David Edgar Buffington; nine grandchildren, Ronnie Ritchie, Lynard Buffington, Delenah Curtis, Jeffrey Riley, Larry Riley, Michael Riley, Gleeann Buffington, Dakota Cates and William Dorney; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

John (PaPa John) Wood, 71, of Lamar died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
He was a retired repairman for Ozark Electric and telephone company, attended the Church of Christ, son of the late Frank and Ola Smith Wood, native of Fayetteville, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Wood and Marion Wood.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Wood; one daughter, Angela Wood; two sons, Matthew Wood and Pete Wood; four stepdaughters, Jane Martin, Jo Ann Wood, and Debbie Ramsey, all of Clarksville, and Donna Brousseau of Hartman; six stepsons, Terry Holman of Lamar, Roger Holman, Dean Holman, and William Fox, all of Clarksville, Jimmy Holman of Hagarville, and Rocky Holman of Batson Mountain; seven sisters, Hester (Clifford) Crist of Gardner, Kan., Ethel McKee of Prairie Grove, Bertha Emrick, Lucille (Oran) Sanders, Marilyn (Jack) Sluder and Loretta (Dale) DeVore, all of Fayetteville, and Sharion (Jim) Broom of Magnolia; two sisters-in-law, Betty Wood of Alma and Ethel Wood of Oak Hill, Fla.; one brother, Mark (Marilyn) Wood of Berryville; 33 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Joyce Carol Marcum, 48, of Coal Hill died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at her home.
She was a native of Mango County West Virginia, daughter of the late Hubert Marcum, held the title of pool champion several times, and was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Marcum.
Survivors include one son, Jerald Marcum and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Robinson, of Coal Hill; mother, Bernice Marcum of West Virginia; four sisters, Amanda Marcum, Wanda Marcum, Tina Williams, and Judy Fannin, all of West Virginia; five brothers, Hubert Marcum Jr., Kenneth Marcum, Daney Marcum, Randy Marcum, and Ricky Marcum, all of West Virginia; and one grandson, Easton Marcum.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Coal Hill Cemetery.

J.W. (Dub) Ferguson, 76, of Hartman died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at Clarksville Community Health and Rehab.
He was a native of Chatfield, Texas, son of the late Joe and Winnie Ethel Layton Ferguson, retired pest control owner and operator, member of Fernwood Assembly of God Church, U.S. Marine veteran, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Sanford Ferguson and Joe Ferguson; and one sister, Marie Cox.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Yeager Ferguson; three daughters, Dianne Bell of Hartman, and Sandy Mahan and Norma Ladkins, both of Texas; one son, Steve Ferguson; three sisters, Winnie Lyman of Fort Payne, Ala., Leta Bell of Bonham, Texas, and Fran Pannell of Powell, Texas; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Birdsong and Rev. Eddie Birdsong officiating. Burial was in Hartman Cemetery.

Sandra M. Hawkins, 63, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at her home.
She was a retired business owner, native of Georgia, and daughter of the late Gordon V. and Hettie Holder Ratledge.
She is survived by three sons, Christian Espinosa of St. Louis, Ill., Patrick Hawkins of Clarksville, and James Hawkins of Coal Hill; and two brothers, Tim Ratledge of Arizona and Chris Ratledge of Fort Smith.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Roy A. Pitts, 72, of Springdale died Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehab.
A native of Clarksville, he was a son of the late Orvil E. and Vanna Smiley Pitts, retired fork lift driver for Cargill Industries after 25 years of service, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jane Brasher Pitts; one daughter, Margaret Ann; one son, Roy Douglas Pitts; and two brothers, J.T. Pitts and Ronnie Pitts.
Survivors include his wife, LaVon Crump Pitts; two daughters, Sandra Ross and husband, Mike, of Elm Springs and Alicia Pitts of Springdale; several stepchildren; two brothers, Barney Pitts and Billy Pitts; several grandchildren including Collin Pitts of the home; and several great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel in Springdale with Mark Michaelson officiating.
