Celia Avo Hubbard

Funeral for Celia Avo Hubbard, 84, of Grannis, who died Friday, April 21, 2006, at Mena Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at Oark Community Church with Rev. Timothy Vanderford officiating.

Burial will be in Oark Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

She was a daughter of the late Alec and Ida Mays Martin, widow of Sam Hubbard, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Verdalee Hubbard; and two sons, J. A. and Douglas Hubbard.

Survivors include three daughters, Bronda Kuykendall of Cove, Martha Norman of Nashville, and Pearl Pritchett of Grannis; three sons, Leroy Hubbard and Dewayne Hubbard, both of Cove, and Donnie Hubbard of Puyallup, Wash.; two brothers, Clifton Martin of Vinita, Okla., and Buddy Martin of Oak Grove; two sisters, Norma (Tootsie) O’Connor of Ozark and Geneva Lyman of California; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Edmund J. Voyna

Edmund J. Voyna, 86, of Knoxville died Sunday, April 16, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Howard County, Iowa, son of the late Frank Joseph and Victoria Lundak Voyna, an eighth grade graduate and was the recipient of a G.E. D. at the age of 72 following his retirement. He was formerly employed at the Oliver, Adrian Implement, the Department of Transportation and H&M Transport. He and his wife, Sylvia Kessler Voyna, also owned and operated Sylvia’s West Side Cafe. Following retirement from the Department of Transportation and moving to Arkansas in the early 1980s, he was employed at Precision Chasse Company and Janssen Engineering. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge and was preceded in death by one brother, William Voyna; and two sisters, Mary Fye and Agnes Frana.

Other than his wife, he is survived by five children, Steven (Cheryl) Voyna of Bondurant, Iowa, Carol (Jerry) Johnson of Bassett, Iowa, Leland (Gail) Voyna of Charles City, Iowa, Kevin Voyna of Anamosa, Iowa, and Vicki Janssen of Russellville; 12 grandchildren, David (Angie) Voyna, Angela Voyna, Michelle (Jason) Skarpness, Nancy Johnson, Dr. Kristina Voyna, Amber (Doug) Barr, Nicholas (Heidi) Trask, Landon Nelson, and Michael Rasmusson, all of Iowa, and Shaun, Susan and Shane Janssen of Russellville; ten great-grandchildren, Taylor Voyna, Chase and Alexis Skarpness, Drew Johnson, Seth Diercks, Austin, Tanner and Trennedy Barr, and Kirsten and Keegan Rasmusson; and two sisters, Virginia Ripley and Edith Meyer of Iowa.

Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City, Iowa, with Rev. Dennis Niezwaag officiating. Burial was in Sunnyside Memory Gardens in Charles City, Iowa.

Pallbearers were Alvin Voyna, Shaun Janssen, David Voyna, Shane Janssen, Michael Rasmusson, and Nicholas Trask.

Fern B. Horner

Fern Beryle Lance Horner, 83, of Lamar died Sunday, April 23, 2006, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.

She was a daughter of the late Clifford L. and Nina Ham Lance, widow of K. R. Horner, former cook at Lamar Schools and was a charter member of the Lamar Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Mary Martha Class.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Don Cowell of Lamar and Rebecca and Al Frazier of Russellville; one sister-in-law, Tommie Horner of Lamar; and four grandchildren, Brad (Heidi) Cowell of Maumelle, Jared Cowell of Plano, Texas, and Jordan and Clayton Frazier of Russellville.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Lamar Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde Vire and Rev. Bill Milam officiating.

Burial will be in Lamar Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Price, Terry Dillard, Brad Cowell, Jared Cowell, Jordan Frazier, and Clayton Frazier.

Gladys Y. Troxell

Funeral for Gladys Orene Young Troxell, 81, who died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at her home in North Little Rock, was at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery at Hunt.

Pallbearers were Raymond Young, Jason Young, Billy Gipson, Barry Park, Levi Willis, Everett Willis, Bobby McGuire, and Jess Campbell.

She was a retired Southwestern Bell Telephone Company employee, daughter of the late August and Bonnie Yarbrough Young, widow of Raymond Troxell, and was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Clyde and John Young, and one sister, Mable Rhea Duncan.

Survivors include three brothers, Harvie Young of Coal Hill and Junior Young and Ray James Young, both of Clarksville; and two sisters, Bertha Young and Nancy Young, both of North Little Rock.

Helen H. Hunt

Helen Hilton Hunt, 86, of Clarksville died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, in Springdale.

She was a native of Albia, Iowa, daughter of the late Carl Albert and Bertha Tyrrel Hilton, widow of Earle H. Hunt Jr., member of the First United Methodist Church, graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Des Moines, Iowa, director of nursing at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark for many years, and a second lieutenant in the U. S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include three sons, Earle H. Hunt III and wife, Donna, of Maumelle, Don Hunt and wife, Linda, of Springdale, and Bob Hunt and wife, Nancy, of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Donald Hunt Jr. of Springdale, Misty Murphey of Fayetteville, Robert H. Hunt Jr. of Little Rock and Earle Houston Hunt IV of Little Rock; and one great-grandchild, Avery Jane Murphey of Fayetteville.

A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 21, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Wingo officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Larry L. Dickerson

Funeral for Larry L. Dickerson, 60, of Texarkana, Texas, who died Sunday, April 23, 2006, at his home, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 27, at First Baptist Church in Nash, Texas, with Rev. Bob Young officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at 4:30 p.m. at the Harmony Cemetery north of Clarksville. Arrangements are under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.

A native of Clarksville, he was a U. S. Army veteran, member of Texas Auctioneer Association, National Auctioneer Association and licensed auctioneer, Texas and Arkansas.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Dickerson; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Lester Foulke of Texarkana, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, LeeRoy and Anna Jean Dickerson of Woodward, Okla.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Jesse Estes of Texarkana, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Leon Ford

Leon Ford, 80, of Clarksville went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 18, 2006.

He was a retired welding supervisor, Baptist, member of Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 9, served in the U. S. Navy, son of the late L. H. (Howell) and Cassie Hanshew Ford, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Thyron Ford and George Ford.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Zado Ford; two daughters, Thomasa Lynn Ford of West Field, Ind., and Elizabeth Ann Ford of Santa Fe Springs, Calif.; one son, David Douglas Ford of San Diego, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Letha Bice of Clarksville; one brother, Dave E. Ford and wife, Reba, of Rogers; two grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

Funeral was at 1 p.m. Friday, April 21, at the Hartman Baptist Church with Rev. Grady Glass officiating.

Burial and Masonic graveside services were at the West Mount Zion Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Jerry Yarbrough, Pat Warren, Jamie Bell, Tom Fowler, Bob Rofkahr, and Ralph Spencer.

Honorary pallbearers were the men of the Hartman Baptist Church.

Marie M. Magby

Marie Morrow Magby, 76, of Hartman died Monday, April 24, 2006, at her home.

She was a native of Hartman, daughter of the late Virgil and Lola Hickey Morrow, member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville, employee of Hanford and Swift Chicken Processing Plants in Clarksville for several years, volunteer at the Mustard Seed Store in Clarksville for several years, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorene Bevers and Geneva McCain; three brothers, Calvin, Odis and Cecil Morrow; father of her children, James Breedlove; and one son, Rev. Jimmy Breedlove, a Methodist minister.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie Magby; three sons, Johnny Breedlove of Coal Hill, Jerry Breedlove of Clarksville, and Tommy Breedlove of Oark; three sisters, Novella Ogden and Kathryn Breedlove, both of Coal Hill, and Flora Warren of Hartman; three brothers, Donald Morrow of Kansas City, Kan., Troy Hickey of Galt, Calif., and Nick Hickey of Searcy; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at the Hartman Methodist Church with Rev. John Kindrix officiating. Hardwicke Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The body was cremated.

Ruby M. Dickerson

Ruby Marie Dickerson, 92, of Clarksville died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a daughter of the late Charlie Lee and Lillian Annis St. Clair McMinn, widow of Noel Dickerson, member of Union Grove Baptist Church, retired Herbst Shoe Factory employee, and was preceded in death by two daughters, Glenda Blackard and Judith Dickerson; one son, Charles Dickerson; two brothers, Cleve St. Clair and Luster McMinn; and one sister, Lillie Powell.

Survivors are five daughters, Shirley Tabor, Aleta Willis and Bobbie Nichols, all of Clarksville, Kathryn Shelley of Fayetteville, and Paula Duncan of Frisco, Texas; four sisters, Evelyn Cooper and Hazel Rose, both of California, Vivian Hudson of Clarksville, and Charlene Tedford of Louisiana; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Burnett King and Rev. Jonathan Payne officiating. Burial was in Batson Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Gary Dickerson, Larry Willis, Ron Nichols, Alan Blackard, Greg Nichols, and Sean Woodward.

Honorary pallbearers were Mike Nichols, Mark Blackard, Neil Woodward, Duncan Bramlett and Brad Nichols.

William Vick Jr.

William Tollie (Bill) Vick Jr., 78, of Olathe, Kan., died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at Royal Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was a native of the Spadra Community in Johnson County, son of the late Edythe (Soard) and William Tollie Vick Sr., owner of Vick and Sons in Olathe, Kan., where he was a cabinet maker, member of the Musicians Union for 50-plus years and played the steel guitar in his band, “Big Bill and the Circle V. Riders, along with other bands. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Marjorie Dianne Vick; and two brothers, Don Allen and Curtis Dwayne.

Survivors are his wife of 58-plus years Marjorie Vick; five sons, William Lee of Dardanelle, John Michael of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., Timothy Dale of Fairview, Mo., and James Kevin and Terry Allen of Olathe, Kan.; one sister, Lalia Leslie of Conway; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends was held Thursday, April 20, at D. W. Newcomers and Sons Johnson County Chapel in Olathe, Kan. The body was cremated. Interment was at Oak Lawn.
