Charles Truman Leavell
Charles Truman Leavell, 77, of Lamar died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, at his home.
He was a retired saw mill employee, member of Holman Freewill Baptist Church, veteran, son of the late Gilbert and Vera Deep Leavell, and was preceded in death by one son, Calvin L. Leavell.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lahoma Brisco Leavell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Della and Aubry Williams and Frankie and Ricky Luningham, all of Dover; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lester and Carla Leavell of Clarksville, Ronald Leavell of Muldrow, Okla., and Sonya Leavell of Dover; five sisters, Juanita McDormatt of Louisville, Ky., Norma Lee Wood of St. Louis, Mo., and Pearl Knight, Bobbie Jean Black and Jeannette Watson, all of Clarksville; four brothers, Gerald Leavell, Donnell Leavell, and Riley Leavell, all of Clarksville, and Finis Leavell of Dover; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis Miller officiating. Burial was in Adams Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jeremy Freeman, Billy Hubbard, Steve Leavell, Hoyt Knight, Kenneth Knight, and Dennis West.
Honorary pallbearers were Son Alderson, Bobby Joe Wilkins, and Arnold Turner.
Lillie Jane Cowan
Lillie Jane Cowan, 89, of Clarksville died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a daughter of the late William Riley and Millie Hignite Cowan and a Protestant.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at the Oark Cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nanette R. Luke
Mrs. Nanette Resimont Luke, 78, of Clarksville died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
A native of Taylorville, Ill., she was a daughter of the late William and Catherine Bianco Resimont, former resident of California, and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil Luke; one son, Gregory Luke of Southern California; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Stephanie Luke of Southern California; one sister, Mary Korpi of Laguna Hills, Calif.; and several cousins including Stanley Resimont, Betty Resimont, Jeff Resimont and Jim Resimont, all of Arkansas, and Bill Resimont of Georgia.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Daniel Farrer officiating. A second service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Redlands, Calif., with burial in Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands, Calif.
