Betty Jean Kendall
Betty Jean Kendall, 76, of
Clarksville died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical
Center.
She was a daughter of the late Ralph
and Lucille Marhoffer Shaffer, widow of Billy Joe (Peanut) Kendall,
Baptist, graduate of Mentor High in Ohio, and was a retired school
teacher after 31 years of service.
She is survived by two sons, Eddie
(Elaine) Kendall and Paul Kendall, all of Clarksville; grandchildren,
Cory and Jennifer Kendall, Chad and Sara Kendall, Chris and Vashti
Kendall, Alicia and Jeremy Roberts, Heather Kendall, and Tiffany
Kendall; and great-grandchildren, Peyton, Shelby, Ethan, Britlyn,
Kendall, Connor, and Londyn.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, March
5, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger
officiating. Burial was in Stillwell Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Eddie
Thomas, Johnny Smith, Robert King, Levon Bean, Sidney Hicks, and Willie
Pitts.
Honorary pallbearers were Cory,
Chad, and Chris Kendall and Jeremy Roberts.
James M. Kicklighter
James Mikel Kicklighter, 55, of
Clarksville died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Clarksville Health and
Rehab.
He was a native of Savannah, Ga.,
son of the late Harold Luther Kicklighter, former Tyson Foods and
Stapleton Company employee, and Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by two daughters,
Jennifer Moses of Van Buren and Keela Kicklighter of Lamar; mother,
Mary Elizabeth Kicklighter; two sisters, Debbie May of Clarksville and
Evelyn Clark of Lamar; and two nieces, Natasha May and Angel Clark.
Memorial services were held at 10
a.m. Tuesday, March 9, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel followed by
graveside services with military honors at 2 p.m. at the National
Cemetery in Fort Smith.
Jewel Edna Kemp
Jewel Edna (Judy) Kemp, 83, of
Little Rock died Thursday, March 4, 2010.
She was a native of Lamar, daughter
of the late James Edward and Cora May Knuckles, widow of Joseph Charles
Kemp, and was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Carl Honeysuckle.
She is survived by three children,
Kristin Kemp Compton and husband, John; Janan Kemp Honeysuckle, and Hal
Joseph Kemp and wife, Phyllis Ann; six grandchildren, Kristin Beth
Honeysuckle, Joseph Charles Honeysuckle, Lara Elizabeth Kemp Beard,
Joseph Hamilton Kemp, James Harrison Kemp, and Mary Caroline Kemp; two
great-grandchildren, Ann Elliott Beard and Caroline Younger Beard; and
two sisters, Pearl Alva Ross Adkinson and Lois Elizabeth Engeldinger.
A graveside service was conducted
Saturday, March 6, at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock under the
direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.
Luis Barrera
Luis Barrera, 61, of Lamar died
Monday, March 1, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Mexico City,
Mexico, son of the late Rafael Barrera, and disabled.
Survivors include his wife, Catalina
Garcia; one daughter, Yomaly Barrera of Lamar; two sons, Rafael Barrera
of Lamar and Luis Barrera Jr. of Mexico City, Mexico; mother, Lenor
Vasqez of Mexico; two sisters, Margarita Barrera and Remedios Barrera,
both of Mexico City, Mexico; one brother, Victor Barrera of
Clarksville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March
2, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Father William Wewers
officiating. Burial was in Mexico.
Marie G. Townsend
Marie G. Townsend, 85, of
Clarksville died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical
Center.
She was a native of Jersey City,
N.J., daughter of the late Louis and Gertrude Fathe Maidhoff, former
factory and homecare employee, and was preceded in death by one
brother, Louis Maidhoff.
She is survived by her husband,
Cleitus Townsend.
Graveside services and burial were
at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at Mt. Airy Cemetery with Paul Farrar
officiating.
Arrangements were under the
direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Matilda Cedillo
Matilda Ann Cedillo, 56, of
Clarksville died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Clarksville Health and Rehab.
She was a native of San Angelo,
Texas, of the Assembly of God faith, daughter of the late Billy Richard
Gilbert, and was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Garcia.
She is survived by one daughter,
Louilla Mikula and husband, Jeremy Harkreader, of Clarksville; one son,
Edward Lee Garcia and wife, Christina, of Kilgore, Texas; mother, Doris
Gilbert of Hendersonville, Tenn.; one sister, Connie Craig and husband,
Bill, of Clarksville; three brothers, Ronnie Gilbert of Hendersonville,
Tenn., Danny Mikula of Tyler, Texas, and Bobby Mikula of San Angelo,
Texas; and six grandchildren, Bly Lee Garcia, Joslynn Faye Garcia and
Paige Dame of Kilgore, Texas, and Jeremy Hudgins, Adam Hudgins, and
Brooklyn Loe of Clarksville.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the
direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Michael W. Mathis
Michael W. Mathis, 66, a resident of
Hartman, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Allegiance Specialty Hospital
in Little Rock.
He was born January 3, 1944, in
Stockton, California to Lester “Tickey” and Wilma Jewell Page
Mathis.
He was the owner of Reliable Homes in Russellville and a member of the
Pottsville Masonic Lodge #333. He was preceded in death by his
father.
Survivors include his wife of 22
years, Linda Mathis of Hartman; four sons and two daughters-in-law,
Miguel W. Mathis of Russellville, Mark W. and Jenny Mathis of Greers
Ferry, Michael Vergle and Stephanie Mathis of Crow Mountain, and
Matthew M. Mathis of Hartman; a daughter and son-in-law, Mecshelle and
Byron Fox of Palisade, Colorado; his mother, Jewell Page Mathis of Crow
Mountain; three brothers, Lelus, Louie, and Jerry Mathis, all of Crow
Mountain; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service, with Masonic
rites provided by the Pottsville Masonic Lodge #333, will be held at 10
a.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Bowden Cemetery on Crow Mountain
with the Rev. Roy Chisum officiating. Burial will be under the
direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Jack Jones, Big
Matt, Richard Clowers, and Jeremy, David, Chris, and Louie Mathis III.
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m.
on Wednesday, at the funeral home.

may
be made to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Post Office Box 2222,
Little Rock, Arkansas 72203-9984.
