Edna M. Laster

Edna Mae Laster, 81, of Clarksville died Sunday, March 9, 2008, in Paris.

She was a native of Hartman, daughter of the late William Clyce and Alie Jaggers Ingram, widow of David King Laster, member of Harmony Presbyterian Church and attended Woodland and Lamar Baptist churches, former employee of Elsie's Beauty Shop of Clarksville, Nite Lite of Clarksville and Singer of Clarksville, owner and operator of Laster's Beauty Shop in Clarksville several years, and was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Porter; and grandparents, Oscar and Lela Jaggers and Rube and Helen Ingram.

She is survived by two daughters, Janet Vire and husband, Clyde, of Clarksville and Vicki Rice of North Little Rock; three grandchildren, Christy Beebe and husband, Steve, of Sherwood, John Mark Vire and wife, Lacy, of Clarksville, and Bart Taylor and wife, Misty, of Sherwood; eight great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan and Justice Beebe of Sherwood, Joby and Cory Vire of Clarksville, and Kate, Drew and Nicholas Taylor of Sherwood; aunt, Ovida Buchanan of Clarksville and cousin, Peggy Johnson of Clarksville.

Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Harmony Cemetery with Rev. Clyde Vire officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Steve Beebe, John Mark Vire, Bart Taylor, Jacob Beebe, Joby Vire, and Cory Vire.
