Archie L. Cameron

Archie L. Cameron, 73, of Colorado Springs, Colo., died Sunday, April 9, 2006, at Salida, Colo.

He was a son of the late Jim and Lois Cameron, aviator inspector for the U. S. Air Force, retired from the U. S. Army as a helicopter mechanic inspector after serving 21 years, Vietnam veteran after serving two terms, recipient of the Bronze Star and was preceded in death by one brother, Rod Cameron; and one sister, Carolyn Schanbeck.

Survivors include his wife, Erlene Cameron; two daughters, Rebecca Addotto of Lafayette, La., and Patty Cameron of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one son, Michael Cameron of Lafayette, La.; two brothers, Jack Cameron of Amite, La., and Allen Cameron of Grant City, Mo.; five sisters, Jean Havener of Lamar, Janice Vaught, Lois Brotherton, and Donna Cameron, all of Clarksville, and Debra Donahue of Springdale; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Clara K. Cebula

Dale W. Magee

Dale Willard Magee, 65, of Coal Hill died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at his home.

He was a native of Watertown, S. D., son of the late Hugh and Cora Alice Oines Magee, graduate of Castlewood High School in Castlewood, S. D., member, former commander, chaplain and game chairman of Coal Hill VFW Post No. 8532, and a retired staff sergeant with the U. S. Army.

Survivors include two daughters, Joan Marie McGlothlin and husband, Mac, of Coal Hill and Lori Ann Pledger and husband, Jerry, of Ozark; two sons, Robert Edward Magee and wife, Lovetta, and William Duane Magee and wife, Tanya, all of Watertown, S. D.; one sister, Toots Hendricks and husband, Frank, of Oregon; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, April 14, at the Yale Church with Rev. David Zeiler officiating.

Burial was in Yale Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Bill Pannell, Larry Skidgel, David Higby, Cliff Roberts, Glen Drum, and Don Davidson.

Eunice I. Daniels

Eunice Ione Daniels, 87, of Clarksville died Sunday, April 16, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a daughter of the late Jim and Erie Noble Demere, widow of Godfrey Jerome Daniels, of the Pentecostal faith, and was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

She is survived by one daughter, Sheila Hill of Lamar; two sons, Jerome Daniels of Lamar and Jack Daniels; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Frances E. Selby

Frances Evelyn Selby, 86, of Lamar died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.

She was a daughter of the late George W. and Janie Sturgess Proctor, widow of Vaughn O. Selby, of the Assembly of God faith, retired fill core employee of the Singer Company of Clarksville, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Reba Joyce Neil; three brothers, Willy, Jesse and James Proctor; and six sisters, Irene Butler, Rosiebelle Honeycutt, Bennie Ruth Keith, Bessie and Elizabeth Hartwick and Mary Hottinger.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jean Brown of Clarksville and Paula Ann Cline of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Georgie Crites of Morrilton and Lorene Wright of Russellville; one granddaughter, Tina Neidhart; five grandsons, Greg Stumbaugh, Glen Stumbaugh, Jeffrey Garrison, Jason Cline and Ben Cline; two great-granddaughters, Rachel Garrison and Jessie Garrison; and two great-grandsons, Geremey Gibson and Edward Hoephner.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, April 17, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Adams Cemetery northeast of Lamar.

Active pallbearers were David Metz, David Parrish, Cary Metz, Larry Chronister, John David Hull, and Bub Pearson.

James W. Callahan

James Walter Callahan, 80, of Republic, Mo., died Friday, April 7, 2006.

He was a native of the Montana Community in Johnson County, son of the late James Walter and Pearl Irene Brigham Callahan, attended Lamar High School, World War II veteran, purple heart recipient, retired prison corrections officer and municipal judge in Republic, Mo., and was preceded in death by three sisters and one daughter-in-law.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Lorain Traw Callahan; son, Jim Callahan and wife, Beth; their son, Bob, and their daughter, Kathy and husband, Mark, and granddaughters, Erin Callahan and Jamie Carl; one sister, Patsy Lemons and husband, James, of Lamar; numerous nieces including Paula Houston of Scranton and Lea Ann Frost of London; numerous nephews including Darrell Lemons of Lamar; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and numerous great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Jimmy Ray Kirby

Jimmy Ray Kirby, 54, of Barling died Monday, April 10, 2006, at Fort Smith.

He was born July 13, 1951, at Altus to Gerald and Venus Wheeless Kirby and was a dedicated Arkansas public school teacher for 30 years. During his career he taught at the Western Arkansas Youth Shelter, County Line High School, County Line Grade School and Pleasant View Grade School. In addition to raising three beautiful children of his own, he impacted the lives of many area young people. Jim will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, and easy going style. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and a compassionate smile. He was a friend to everyone. He also served with the National Guard, was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Fort Smith, and was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Kirby; and brother, Jerry Kirby.

Survivors include his wife, Patti Kirby; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Cody Jones of Mansfield and Meredith and Charlie Rea of Barling; one son, Chris Kirby of Russellville; mother, Venus Kirby of Ozark; one sister, Patricia Patterson of Clarksville; and one grandchild, Hallie Jones.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ted Darling and Steven Breedlove officiating.

Burial was in Jackson Cemetery at Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Robert Waldron, Kenton Hurt, Ernie Felcher, Roger Dall, Larry Burwell, and Vondall Davenport.

Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Shaffer Funeral Home.

Larry L. Davis

Larry L. Davis, 58, of Washington Township, Mich., died Saturday, April 15, 2006, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Clinton Township, Mich.

A native of Clarksville, he was a retired employee of General Motors after 39 years of service, served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War where he was stationed on the USS Ticonderoga and was a member of the Southeast Michigan Bird Dog Club. He was preceded in death by one son, Matthew, and one brother-in-law, Don Metz.

Survivors are his wife, Kathleen Davis; one son, Larry and fiancee, Angela Jones, of Michigan; one daughter, Andrea Davis of Michigan; parents, W. L. and Frances Davis of Lamar; five brothers, C. L. Davis and wife, Sharon, and George Davis and wife, Angie, all of Russellville, and Thomas Davis and wife, Lou, Samuel Davis and wife, Alice, and James Davis, all of Lamar; two sisters, Mary Metz of London and Tanya McKinney and husband, David, of Lamar; adopted brother, Jerry Signer of California; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at Lamar Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde Vire officiating. Burial will be in Lamar Cemetery.

Theodore Ritchie

Theodore Ritchie, 84, of Hartman died Friday, April 14, 2006, at his home.

He was a heavy equipment operator, son of the late Toy Fredman and Dora Mays Ritchie, of the non-denominational faith, and was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Ritchie; three daughters, Ettie Gean, Shirley and Lavern Ritchie; four brothers, Ray, Charles, Argus and Kenneth Ritchie; and one sister, Edith Sullivan.

He is survived by three daughters, Lorraine Ritchie of Hartman, Dorie Harderson of Oark and Corina Jones of Riverside, Calif.; three sons, Larry Ritchie of London, Donald Ritchie of Lamar and Shawn Jones of Oark; four brothers, Fred Ritchie and Kelly Wayne Ritchie, both of Clarksville, Lonnie Ritchie of Eureka, Calif., and Eugene Ritchie of Paso Robles, Calif.; two sisters, Thelma Arbaugh of Hunt and Evelyn Castillo of Clarksville; eight grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the Liberty Hill Cemetery at Hunt with Rev. Audrey Poteet officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Lloyd McClellan, Pete Piccus, Donnie Ritchie Jr., Robert Ritchie, Shawn Jones, Donald Ritchie II, Junior Walker and Mike Howard.

William S. Park

William S. (Bill) Park, 85, of Clarksville died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at his home.

He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Goldburn and Thelma Farris Park, graduate of Clarksville High School and the University of the Ozarks, member of the First United Methodist Church and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, former member of the Lions Club and Lumber Who's Who Club, Navy veteran of World War II, and a retired sales and office manager.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Boyer Park; one son, Patrick Boyer Park of Russellville; one sister, Joann Walton of Clarksville; three brothers, Tom Park of Perryville, Bob Park of Clarksville, and Jerry Park of Conway; and three grandchildren, Whitney L. Park and Morgan D. Park, both of Russellville, and Brooke McConnell of Little Rock.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Steve Wingo officiating.

Burial was in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Martha Hayward

Martha Freer Hayward, 72, of Clarksville died Monday, April 17, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Fort Sheridan, Ill., United States veteran of the Korean Conflict, member of the Eastern Star, Disabled American Veteran's and Saint John's Catholic Church, former employee of the United States Forestry Service and was preceded in death by her parents, George Henry and Martha Ellen Hoss Freer; and two sisters, Loretta Rollans and Margie Atherton.

Survivors are one son, Christopher R. Williams of Clarksville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tracey L. and Bob Mussey of Woodbridge, Va., and Cheryl Vines of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville with Fr. William Wewers officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
