Alexis Terese Pledger, one-month-old daughter of Jeremy Pledger and
Melissa Richard of Ozark, died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at Mercy Hospital/Turner
Memorial in Ozark.
Other survivors include one sister, Montana Richard of the home; one
brother, Chase Hunsinger of the home; paternal grandparents, Tim and Gail
Pledger of Altus; maternal grandfather, George Richard of Ozark; paternal
great-grandparents, Jerome and Hermina Koerdt of Altus and Alene Ihle of
Paris; maternal great-grandparents, George Richard Sr. of Cecil, and Joyce
McKinney of California, paternal great-great-grandmother, Louise Rinke
of Altus; uncle, Michael Pledger of Altus; and aunt, Latisha Owens of Texas.
She was preceded in death by a grandmother, Robin Richard; and great-grandparents,
Billy Hugh Pledger, Velma Richard and Vance McKinney.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Monday, May 10, at Liberty
Cemetery at Altus with Rev. Tony Battles and Rev. Amos Pledger officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Mike Skolarski, Charles Buchannan, Jason Flannery, and Chance Blansingame.
Mrs. Denise G. Nichols, 41, of Lamar died Friday, May 7, 1999, at her
home.
She was a native of Wilmington, Utah, daughter of the late Earl B. and
Virgie Mae Bohannon Wise, 1975 graduate of Clarksville High School, and
member of the Russellville First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Nichols; three daughters and one
son-in-law, Jacquelyn Denise and Wesley McRae of Osceola, and Melissa Dawn
Nichols and Bailey Nickole Nichols, both of Lamar; two sisters, Karlene
Hawkins of Russellville and Earlene Lipsey of La Mirada, Calif.; one brother,
Lindell Wise of Clarksville; and one grandson, Bryce Allen McRae of Osceola.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, May 10, at the Russellville First Assembly
of God Church with Rev. Dade Kindrix and Rev. Larry Moore officiating.
Burial was in Oakland Cemetery at Clarksville under the direction of
Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Wesley Kendrick, Wesley McRae, David McMillon, Herb Phillips, Mike Nichols, and Danny Duff.
Ferrell F. King, 96, of Clarksville died Friday, May 7, 1999, at Countryside
Manor Nursing Home.
A native of the Harmony Community, he was a son of the late William
Ruben and Lou Orpha Laster King, member of the Harmony Presbyterian Church,
owner-operator of King Grocery Store at Harmony for 50-plus years, and
was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Wilson King.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Stacy King
of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Terry Don King of Fort Smith and
Stephanie King of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two great-grandchildren, Austin King
of Fort Smith and London King of Ozark.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, at the Harmony Presbyterian
Church with Burley King and Rev. Bill Woodard officiating.
Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke
Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Jack Phillips, Wendell Self, Bill Porter,
Hall Garrett, Argie Kendall, Abe Laster Jr., John Williamson, and Ronald
Laster.
Honorary pallbearers will be Heartsill McSwain, Buel Porter, and Lyle Porter.
J. W. Hearne, 90, of Springfield, Mo., died Sunday, May 2, 1999.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Amy Phillips Hearne, a former Hartman
resident; one daughter, Julaine Davis of Springfield, Mo.; one son, Robert
W. Hearne of Springfield, Mo.; one brother, W. F. Hearne of Tennessee;
two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, in Springfield, Mo.
Graveside services and burial for James Allen Neil, 40, of Orange, Texas,
who died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at his home, were at 2 p.m. Saturday, May
8, at Woodland Cemetery with Rev. Jim Goodman officiating. Arrangements
were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Keith Neil, Thomas Neil, Ted Miller, Frank Aribia,
J. D. Marlow, John Neil, and Donald Mobley.
Neil was a shiplifter with TDI Halter and son of the late John Alexander
Neil.
Survivors include his mother, Lois Marlow Weatherton of Clarksville; three sisters, Ruth Mobley of Clarksville, Irene Arabie of Mauriceville, Texas, and Malinda Miller of Orange, Texas; and three brothers, Keith W. Neil and Thomas Lee Neil, both of Orange, Texas, and John A. Neil of Jasper, Texas.
Louis Blauvelt Parks, 75, of Clarksville died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at
his home.
A native of Denver, Colo., he was a son of the late Howard E. and Louise
Blauvelt Parks, and an engineer graduate of School of Mines in Denver,
Colo.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Christine Parks; two daughters, Susan
Louise Ramsdell of Hingham, Mass., and Anne Christine Parks of Denver,
Colo.; one son, David B. Parks of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Howard E.
Parks Jr. of Castle Rock, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at the Harmony Presbyterian Church with Burley King officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Stephen I. Horvath, 73, of Clarksville died Wednesday, May 5, 1999,
at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
He was a mechanical engineer and son of the late Lajos and Julianna
Gall Horvath.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Anna Szauer Horvath; three daughters,
Susan Torok of Hungary, Julianna Buhajla of Knoxville, and Alice Horvath
of Illinois; two sons, Stephen Horvath Jr. of Hungary and Joe Horvath of
Illinois; one brother, Lajos Horvath of Canada; 12 grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Mrs. Viahne Joyce Colbert, 48, of Hartman died Wednesday, May 5, 1999,
at her home.
She was a native of Watertown, S. D., and a registered medical assistant
for Sparks Regional Medical Center Out Clinic in Mulberry and Charleston.
Survivors include her husband, James Colbert; two daughters, Kedron
Robinette and Shanon Brantley, both of Jonesboro; mother, Betty Holcomb
of Sherwood; one sister, Roxanne Haas of Cabot; one brother, DeWayne Stephenson
of Lakewood, Colo.; and one grandchild, Jaqulyn Marie Brantley of Jonesboro.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel
with Rev. Bob Oden officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bobby Anhalt, DeWayne Stephenson, Noah Stephenson, Danny Haas, Larry Brantley, and Dr. Ben Kriesel.
Mrs. Wanda June Owens, 62, of Clarksville died Friday, May 7, 1999,
at her home.
She was a daughter of the late John Thomas Edward and Alice Dixon Cook,
a Baptist, and retired craft employee.
She is survived by four daughters, Jennifer Evanoff of Aberdeen, N.
C., Darla McKinley and Wendy Owens, both of Clarksville, and Robyn Harris
of Lamar; one son, Steven McKinley of Roland, Okla.; two sisters, Dolly
Harmon of Kingsland and Eunice Serratt of Casa Grande, Ariz.; two brothers,
Don Cook of Fort Worth, Texas, and L. L. Cook of Houston, Texas; and nine
grandchildren.
Private memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 12,
at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Ira Taylor officiating.
The body was cremated.
