Mrs. Alice Ann Richardson, 51, of Lamar died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999,
at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
She was the widow of Troy Richardson, an employee of Tyson Foods, and
was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Mize.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Troy Dean Richardson
and Billy and Amber Richardson, all of Lamar; parents, Lonnie and Gracie
Mize of Lamar; three sisters, Shirley Davis and Wanda Richardson, both
of Lamar, and Eula Dobbs of Fayetteville; six brothers, Tom Mize, Vernon
Mize, Myrl Mize, and Gary Mize, all of Lamar, James Mize of Knoxville,
and Larry Mize of Ozark; one grandson, Dacoda Richardson of Lamar; numerous
nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and fiance,
Nick Horton.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Lamar Cemetery with Rev. David Zeiler officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Eli C. (E. C.) Estep, 72, died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at Midwest City
Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla.
A native of Coal Hill, he was a son of the late Gus C. and Ocie Douglas
Estep, former oil field employee, and was preceded in death by one son,
Steven Douglas.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Hazel Scoggins Estep; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Gary D. and Carolyn of McLoud, Okla., and Alan L. and
Linda of Bossier City, La.; one sister, Monteray Patty of Clarksville;
five grandchildren and spouses, Mark and Lory Estep of Cleburne, Texas,
Gary Alan and Cari Estep and Toni Estep, all of McLoud, Okla., and Jennifer
Story and Jill Estep, both of Edmond, Okla.; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, at Eisenhower Funeral Home Chapel in Midwest City, Okla., with burial in the Arlington Cemetery in Midwest City, Okla.
Mrs. Geraldine L. Rye, 64, of Route 1, London died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999,
at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Hollywood, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Lawrence
C. and Vivian McKinley Neff, member and past president of Letter Carriers
Union District 3, retired rural letter carrier, member of the Arkansas
Rural Letter Carriers Association, widow of Roland Rye, graduate of Canoga
Park High School, attended business college in Van Nuys, Calif., and was
preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Paulette Rye, and a stepson, Charles
Rye.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Bill Ross
of Orlando, Fla.; one son, Jack Lucas of Los Angeles, Calif.; foster mother,
Loretta Lueke of Reseda, Calif.; four stepdaughters, Doris Adair of Bentonville,
Delores Smith and Pam Cotton, both of Clarksville, and Denise Stewart of
London; two brothers, Larry Lueke of Houston, Texas, and Larry Don Neff
of Ontario, Calif.; 14 grandchildren including Christopher Ross of Orlando,
Fla.; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with
Rev. Claude Jackson officiating. Burial was in the Madden Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Darrell Wadley, Terry White, Don Smith, Boyd
Blackard, Milton Nordin, Billy Hickey, Brennan Hickey, and James Rye.
Honorary pallbearer was Irvin Blackard.
Jerry W. Adkins, 61, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999.
He was a brick mason and member of the Christ The King Catholic Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lana Adkins; two sons, Kilo J. Adkins
and Shad Lee Adkins, both of Fort Smith; one sister, Shirley Williams of
Oologah, Okla.; one brother, Ronnie Adkins of Fort Smith; and two grandchildren,
Laney Beth and Jordon Adkins.
Rosary was at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2. Mass was at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at Christ The King Catholic Church. Arrangements were under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
John Will Baker, 92, of Lamar died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999, at his home.
He was a retired Eureka Brick employee, son of the late John B. and
Lucy Jones Baker, and was preceded in death by four brothers, Hugh Baker,
Daily Baker, Ben Baker, and Ed Baker, and eight sisters, Evalee Baker,
Nancy Clementine Baker, Cara Baker, Nora Baker, Myrtle Baker, Ted Baker,
Grace Baker, and Selene Baker.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Jessie Hibbard Baker; one son, Clifford
Thomas Baker of Clarksville; three grandchildren, Wesley Baker of Lamar,
James Keith Baker of Russellville, and Marcia Annette Applegate of Plano,
Texas; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Lamar Baptist Church
with Rev. Mike Fowler officiating.
Burial was in Lamar Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral
Home.

Loran M. Bean, 98, died Nov. 30, 1999, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
A native of Johnson County, he was a son of the late Jesse M. and Alice
Sears Bean and was reared in the Lone Pine Community. He was a former resident
of Wichita, Kan., a pharmacist, Methodist, Scoutmaster, active member of
the Scottish Clan MacBean Organization, past president of the State of
Colorado Square Dance Club, and will be inducted into the Square Dance
Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Clara Jones Bean; one son,
Loran M. Bean Jr.; one sister, Viola Bean Ogilvie; five brothers, Lee,
Lattie, Erwin, Marvin and Earl Bean; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is survived by one brother, Jesse Bean Jr. of Independence, Mo.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, in Colorado Springs, Colo., with burial to follow in Wichita, Kan.
Monty Polk Jr., 77, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999.
A native of Greenville, Miss., he was a son of the late Montgomery Polk
Sr. and Mary Louise Guinn Polk, a graduate of Burris (La.) High School,
a pilot in the Air Force during World War II, member of the Clarksville
Church of Christ and Tomball, Texas, VFW, and an employee of Exxon Tiger
Mart.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Donie Polk; one daughter, Martha Svanda
of Taylor, Texas; two sons, James Sanders of Salem, Mo., and Vernie Sanders
of Clarksville; two sisters, Mary Louise Milton of Tomball, Texas, and
Lillian Beshears of Corpus Christi, Texas; seven grandchildren; and seven
great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the Clarksville Church of Christ
with Mike Eppinette officiating.
Burial was in Lone Pine Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral
Home.

Paul R. Williams, 58, of Paris, brother of Rebecca Stephens of Scranton,
died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at his home.
He served in Vietnam with the U. S. Navy and was employed in the parts
department of Bob Rogers Chevrolet.
He is survived by two daughters, Paula Ausbrooks of Dardanelle and Lori
Brooks of Delaware; two sons, Monty Williams of Hot Springs and Scott Grill
of California; one other sister, Catherine Core of Boron, Calif.; one brother,
James K. Williams of Charleston; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Oakwood
Cemetery in Paris. Arrangements were under the direction of Smith Mortuary
of Charleston.
Pallbearers were Jerry Lovelace, Bob Rogers, Bobby Sewell, Larry Mainer, David Stephens, and Jimmy Stephens.
Mrs. Retta Mae Oliver, 79, of Paris, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, in
Fort Smith.
She was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church, a daughter of the
late Solly and Anna Quary Casey, and was preceded in death by two grandsons,
Todd and Jim Oliver; and four brothers, Elmer, Curtis, Jess and Delmer
Casey.
Survivors include her husband, James Horace Oliver; three sons and daughters-in-law,
Jerry and Evelyn Oliver of Clarksville, James and Carlene Oliver of Russellville,
and Billy Don and Margaret Oliver of Dardanelle; three sisters, Wanda Adams
and Imogene Austin of Seminole, Okla., and Arletta Hensley of Oklahoma
City, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Andrea Turner of Ozone, Christina Sisco
of Morrilton, Tommie McMunn of Little Rock, Michael Oliver, Ma-
lissa Haulmark and April Haulmark, all of Dardanelle, and Scotty Oliver
and Angela Countryman, both of Russellville; 16 great-grandchildren; and
one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at Roller Funeral Chapel in Paris
with burial in McVay Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Art Carter, Junior Carter, Sonny Spicer, Rufus Nichols, Manuel Horn, and Ed Walker.
Walter Charles Deiss, 87, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, at
his home.
He was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, farmer, son of
the late Emil August and Karlina Gschwend Deiss, and was preceded in death
by his wife, Mrs. Rachel Broom Deiss, one sister, Marie Delores, and two
brothers, Emil and Johnny Deiss.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Harold
Stonell of Laurens, S. C., Martha and Bill Helms and Marietta (Dumpy) and
Don Stimpson, all of Clarksville; one son and daughter-in-law, Walter (Bud)
and Margaret Deiss of Trumann; one sister, Mary Cole of New Jersey; 11
grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
