Alene B. Johnson
Alene Bohannon Johnson, 97, of
Clarksville died Thursday, July 1, 2010, at St. Anthony Hospital in
Morrilton.
She was a native of Clarksville,
daughter of the late Virgil T. and Lola May Gunn Bohannon, widow of
Archie Johnson, high school graduate, and member of the Clarksville
Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Dannie
Johnson and wife, Wanda, of Mabelvale and Ronnie Johnson of
Clarksville; one brother, Buddy Bohannon of Van Buren; four
grandchildren, Danise Johnson, Joe Thomas Johnson, Charla Johnson and
Kelly Johnson; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, July
3, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Ronnie Johnson officiating.
Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Eddie King,
Zachary King, Molden Thrift, Wesley Kendrick, and Mark Simpson.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Alan
Johnson, Bob Gorton, and David Duff.
Christina M. Pitts
Christina Michelle Pitts, 37, of
Dardanelle died Monday, June 28, 2010, in Yell County.
She was a native of Russellville,
daughter of the late Judy McCain Pitts and was preceded in death by one
brother, Carl Lee Pitts.
Survivors include one son, Nick
Bischel; two daughters, Joanna and Jasmine Bischel; one sister, Diana
Mae Hunt; father and stepmother, Jerry and Lynn Pitts; two sisters,
Christy and Brandi Haynes; and one brother, Jarimy (Buzz) Burns.
A memorial service will be held at
9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Bells Chapel Assembly of God Church
with Rev. Peggy Foster officiating.
Crematory arrangements were under
the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
Douglas Collins
Douglas Collins, 46, formerly of
Clarksville, died June 20, 2010, in Junction City, Kan.
He was a native of Ozark, son of the
late Arthur F. and Ruby Mae Foster Collins, and was a National Guard
veteran of Desert Storm.
He is survived by one daughter,
Tarah Sue Collins of Fort Smith; one son, Dustin Joe Collins of Fort
Smith; four brothers, Mike Collins of Coal Hill, Hearn Collins of Fort
Smith, Carl Collins of Tucker, and Calvin Collins of Rudy; and four
sisters, Susie Cagle and April Iris Collins, both of Clarksville, Doris
Hale of Adona and Judy Bohdan of Junction City, Kan.
The body was cremated.
James Freeman
James (Jitter) Freeman, 71, of
Knoxville died Monday, June 28, 2010, at St. Mary's Regional Medical
Center in Russellville.
He was a native of Clarksville, son
of the late Claude Henry and Ruby Atha Mills Freeman, graduate of
Clarksville High School, member of Spadra United Methodist Church,
founder of the House of Faith Church at Hemet, Calif., where he was
pastor for 13 years and the James Freeman Center being named in his
honor, and a dispatcher for the Santa Fe Train Company many years.
He is survived by one
brother-in-law, Sammy Wish of Clarksville; one sister-in-law, Lela
Freeman of Longview, Wash.; numerous nieces, nephew and cousins; and
companion, Norman Lee Church of Knoxville.
A memorial service will be held at
10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at the Spadra Methodist Church with Rev.
Regina Turner officiating.
Crematory arrangements were under
the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Mary M. Flad
Mary M. Casali Flad died on Monday,
July 5, 2010, at Greenhurst Nursing Home in Charleston, AR. She was
born in Glastonbury, Connecticut on July 15,1920. Mary and her husband
settled in the Clarksville area from Connecticut and Vermont during the
1970s. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russell Howard
Flad; parents, Antonio and Angela Casali; brother, Joseph Casali;
sister, Rose C. Balboni; nephew, David Casali; and niece, Janet B. Arnt
Gruenberg.
Three nieces, Doris B. Davitt of
Bloomfield, Connecticut, Carol B. Grider of Pocahontas, Arkansas, and
Donna C. Alzmann of Nokomis, Florida; and several grand and
great-nieces and nephews survive. Mary had many friends throughout the
Clarksville area, especially her devoted and beloved friend Ronald
Patterson.
She loved the outdoors and animals
and she would want us to remember her by taking a walk on a beautiful
day and enjoying the wonders that surround us.

A graveside service will be
Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at 10 a.m., at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville
with Father William Wewers officiating. Arrangements are by Roller-Cox
Funeral Home of Clarksville, Arkansas.

William Burns Collier
William Burns Collier, 100, died
Monday, June 28, 2010, at his home in Hackett.
He was born Oct. 3, 1909, in Fort
Smith, the son of Horace William Collier and Erla Lillian Poynor
Collier of Clarksville. He attended the University of the Ozarks and
Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge where he earned a
bachelor's degree and did post graduate work. He served in the armed
forces during World War II and retired in 1971 from the B.F.
Goodrich
Company prior to moving to Hackett where he ran a cattle operation and
supplied hardwood lumber to furniture makers. He was preceded in death
by one brother, Herman Jackson (Jack) Collier of Glendale, Calif.; and
one sister, Mary Frances Borroff of Seattle, Wash.
Survivors include his wife of 63
years, Mary Elizabeth (Libby) Wardrep Collier; one daughter, Elizabeth
Ann Collier of Little Elm, Texas; one son, Steve Collier of Hackett;
three grandsons, Michael Burns Collier and Brian David Collier of
Austin, Texas, and Gregory Alva Collier of the U. S. Marine Corps
stationed in Camp Pendleton, Calif.; and one sister, Florence Jean
Simmons of Peoria, Ariz.
A private memorial service will be
held at a later date.
Arrangements were under the
direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
