Bettye Lynn Heflin
Bettye Lynn Heflin, 62, of
Pottsville, sister of Larry Sanders of Clarksville, died Sunday, May
16, 2010, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
She was born in San Antonio, Texas,
to Allen and Opal Dean York Sanders, 1965 graduate of Purcell High
School in Purcell, Okla., real estate agent with Coldwell Banker in
Russellville, served on the Pottsville Planning and Zoning Commission,
member of the Pottsville United Methodist Church, and was preceded in
death by one daughter, Alicia Jeanne Freeman; and one sister, Darla
Gayle Walls.
Survivors include her husband, John
Heflin; one son, James Bryan Freeman of Russellville; three
stepchildren, Cheryl Caines of Pottsville, Jackie Heflin of Dover, and
Rhonda Lynn Haney of London; five grandchildren, Fred and John Viney'
Rendon, Brett Heflin, Chanda Mills of Atkins and Jamies Caines of
Oxnard; two great-grandchildren, Jayden and Adronna Heflin of
California; and four other brothers, Garry Sanders of Ozark, Keith
Sanders of Houston, Texas, Bruce Bernard of Orlando, Fla., and Tom
Sanders of Racine, Wis.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, May
21, at the Pottsville United Methodist Church with Rev. Millie Bryant
officiating. Burial was in Pisgah Cemetery at Pottsville under the
direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
Connie Sue Smith
Connie Sue Kimbrel Smith, 55, of
Knoxville died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late James
Charlie and Mary Ann Smith Kimbrel and was preceded in death by one
daughter, Elizabeth Ann Smith.
Survivors include two daughters,
Loretta Wey and husband, Robbie, and Saundra Gregory and husband,
Terry, all of Clarksville; two sons, Joshua Smith of Clarksville and
James Robert Smith of Knoxville; one sister, Norma Williams of
Clarksville; two sisters-in-law, Diane Kimbrel of Rogers and Jennifer
Kimbrel of Clarksville; two brothers, James Leonard Kimbrel of
Clarksville and Charles Vester Kimbrel of Rogers; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday,
May 27, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Willis
officiating. Burial will be in Mossville Cemetery in Newton County.
Active pallbearers will be Cody
Graham, James Johnston, Randy DeWinter, Charlie Ritchie, Stretch
Danver, and Brad England.
Honorary pallbearer will be James

Dale E. Williams Jr.
Dale Everett Williams Jr., 39, of
Wagoner, Okla., died Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at Muskogee Regional
Medical Center.
He was a native of Muskogee, Okla.,
attended Hilldale High School, welder and heavy equipment operator,
former resident of Knoxville where he served as a volunteer fireman for
nine years, and was preceded in death by one son, Toby Williams;
stepfather, Ricky Watson; grandparents; and stepgrandparents.
Survivors include his wife Norma
Kimbrel Williams; two sons, Michael Williams and Cody Graham of
Wagoner, Okla.; one daughter, Krystal Demmitt of Alaska; mother, Helen
Ann Asher Watson of Wagoner, Okla.; father, Dale E. Williams Sr. of
Woodward, Okla.; two grandchildren, Riley and Noah Demmitt of Alaska;
one sister, Penny Harmon of Baton Rouge, La.; two nieces, Mistie and
Alsatia Harmon; one nephew, Malachi Harmon; stepgrandfather, Tarzon
Keeton of Wagoner, Okla.; and one cousin, Kim Fulton.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, May
22, at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner, Okla., with Rev. Bill
Welch officiating. Burial was at Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner, Okla.

David M. Burry Sr.
David Malcolm Burry Sr., 66, of
Hartman died Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Baptist Medical Center in Little
Rock.
He was a native of Sault Sainte
Marie, Mich., son of the late Elizabeth Frances and Frederick Wilson
Burry, retired after having been employed as automotive director for
Pep Boys Company, Inc., for 18 years, diesel mechanic instructor at
Orange County, Calif., and Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Clarksville
as loss prevention, and was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army HQ
troop 1st Recon Squad 15th Calvary 2nd Armored Division in Fort Hood,
Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Milagros
Villamante Burry; one daughter, Marnie Marinussen and husband,
Stan,
of the Netherlands; three sons, David Burry Jr. of northern California,
Peter Burry and wife, Chris, of Lodi, Calif. and Eugene Burry of Orange
County, Calif.; two stepdaughters, M.Sgt. Maria Patricia
Montgomery
and husband, Capt. Justin Montgomery, of Vallejo, Calif. and Maybelle
Morgan and husband, Kevin, of Coal Hill; one stepson, Michael John
Tongko of Daegu, South Korea; three brothers, Frederick Burry Jr. and
wife, Pat, and children of southern California, Mark Burry and wife,
Pat, and children of San Diego, Calif., and Brian Burry and wife,
Joyce, and children of Clovis, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and one
great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, May
21, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Butch Booth and
Pastor Primo Novero officiating. Burial with military honors followed
at 1 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith.

Michael Tongko, Brian Burry, James Tucker, Kevin Morgan, and Nab Oubay.
Flora Ellen Jones
Flora Ellen Jones, 82, of
Clarksville died Friday, May 21, 2010, at Clarksville Health and Rehab.
She was a native of Matthews, Mo.,
daughter of the late Arthur and Martha Driscol Hodges, widow of Elihu
Jones Jr., former food service employee, southern Baptist faith,
and
was preceded in death by three brothers, Orville (Speedy) Duncan, Paul
Hodges, and Arthur Hodges Jr.; and two sisters, Pearl Bagby and Pauline
Jones.
She is survived by two daughters,
Delcie Tipton of Omaha and Vonnell Dybala of Martinsville, Ind.; two
sons, Les Jones of West Plains, Mo., and Steve Jones of Knoxville; one
sister, Alice Rhodes of Eucipia, Calif.; six grandchildren, Jesse
Jones, Chad Jones, Eddy Jones, Blake Dybala, Tabitha Mumford, and
Morgan Jones; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis Jones and Summer
Mumford.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, May
22, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger
officiating. Burial was in Minnow Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clifton Pitts, Van
Page, Delane Davis, Shannon Owens, Troy Terry, and Dell Montgomery.
Lee Roy Stokes
Lee Roy Stokes, 85, of Clarksville
died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Ozark Nursing Home.
He was a native of Milo, Mo., son of
the late Joseph and Alma Myers Stokes, retired Burns security officer,
city and county police dispatcher, World War II Navy veteran, member of
Spadra Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta
Clark Stokes; one son, Jimmy Stokes; and one daughter, Gladys Stokes.
Survivors include four daughters,
Ann Knight of Clarksville, Darlene Stepp and husband, Marvin, and Patty
Stokes, all of Hunt, and Linda Miller and husband, Lynn, of Raytown,
Mo.; one son, Harry Russell Stokes and wife, Marietta, of Clarksville;
11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services and burial were
at 10 a.m. Friday, May 21, at Spadra Cemetery with Rev. Richard Snyder
officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral
Home.
Pallbearers were Johnny Blamey,
Russell L. Stokes, Michael Dobbs, Gene Vannoy, Sam Stokes, David Stepp,
and Josh Knight.
Paula Woodard
Paula Woodard, 50, of Russellville,
sister of Kim Nordin of Ozone, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, in
Russellville.
A native of Clarksville, she was a
daughter of the late Harold and Jennie Baumann Nordin, 1977 graduate of
Belleville High School, attended Restoration Church in Russellville and
was employed in retail furniture sales.
Survivors include two sons, Nathan
Woodard and wife, Ginnie, and Jason Woodard and Chelsey, all of
Raeford, N.C.; three grandchildren; two other brothers, Dennis Nordin
of Russellville and Matthew Nordin of Hot Springs; and one sister,
Donna Hollis of Houston, Texas.
A memorial service was held
Wednesday, May 19, at Hickey Cemetery near Piney Bay with Rev. James
Findley officiating. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of
Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
Ron Hudspeth
Ron Hudspeth, 57, of Dover died
Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in
Russellville.
He was a native of Fort Sill, Okla.,
son of the late Raymond and Billie Purvis Hudspeth, graduated from high
school in 1971 in Williams, Ariz., attended the University of Arizona
and Arkansas Tech University, U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, former
resident of De Queen and Russellville, former employee of Greenville
Tube in Clarksville and was preceded in death by one sister, Susan
Holland.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa
Snider Hudspeth; one son, Billy Hudspeth of Dover; and six siblings,
Leon Hudspeth and wife, Veronica, Raymonia Hiatt and husband, Bob, Tina
Lira and husband, Butch, and Bobby Hudspeth and wife, Robin, all of
Clarksville, Eva Obeirne and husband, Rich, of Marion, and Ronnie
Wester of Horatio.
A celebration of life service was
held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at the Veterans' City Park in
Russellville with Bruce Richardson officiating. Full military honors
were provided by Rogers-Rye Post No. 2283 of the Veterans of Foreign
Wars. Arrangements were under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service
of Russellville.

Ruben Castillo
Ruben Castillo, 35, of Clarksville
died Monday, May 17, 2010, in Clinton.
He was a native of San Luis Potosi
and an employee of Saxon Drilling Company.
Survivors include his wife, Lucila
Herrera; one daughter, Amairany Castillo of Clarksville; one son, Edwin
Castillo of Clarksville; mother, Lorenza Alviso of Mexico; father,
Findencio Castillo of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Carmen Castillo and
Yolanda Castillo, both of Mexico; and one brother, Juan Castillo of
Houston, Texas.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Friday, May
21, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father William Wewers
officiating.
Burial was in Holy Redeemer Catholic
Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home

Shawn Dexter Foust
Shawn Dexter Foust, 56, of
Russellville died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at the Veterans Hospital in
Little Rock.
He was a native of Heber Springs,
member of Russellville Missionary Baptist Church, served 30 years in
the U.S. Army and 20 years with the Arkansas Highway Police and was
preceded in death by his father, Sherlon Foust.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly
Heflin Foust; three sons, Joshua Heflin of Maumelle and Ridge Foust and
Chase Foust, both of Russellville; mother, Wincle Foust of Heber
Springs; one sister, Shay Cresswell and husband, Gary, of Heber
Springs; and two nephews, Scott Cresswell and Mark Cresswell of Heber
Springs.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday,
May 29, at Russellville Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Ed Heflin
officiating.

Wilma Jewell Mathis
Wilma Jewell Mathis, 90, of Crow
Mountain died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Conway Regional Medical Center
in Conway.
She was a native of Solo, daughter
of the late Quinn and Lottie Underhill Page, widow of Lester (Tickey)
Mathis, member of Welcome Hill Assembly of God, and was preceded in
death by one son, Michael W. Mathis; three brothers, Cirl (Bill) Page,
Roy (Jack) Page and an infant, Eugene Quinn Page Jr.; and four sisters,
Dollie Mathis, Clara Hays, Euva Newton, and Artie Page.
Survivors include three sons and
four daughters-in-law, Lelus and Marie Mathis, Louie and Sharon Mathis,
and Jerry and Veronica Mathis, all of Russellville, and Linda Mathis of
Coal Hill; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Bonnie Page and
Kenneth and Vela Page, all of Russellville; two sisters and
brothers-in-law, Cledyth and Glen Latham of Russellville and Faye and
W.A. McAnulty of Pottsville; 13 grandchildren; several
great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, May
24, at Shinn Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville with Rev. Norman
Chenowith and Rev. Jeremy Mathis officiating. Burial was in Bowden
Cemetery on Crow Mountain.
Grandsons served as active
pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearer was Rev. David
Downum.

Wilma Morris Dobbs
Wilma Pauline Morris Dobbs of Mount
Vernon, Wash., passed away on Friday, May 21, 2010. Wilma was born in
Hagarville, Arkansas on March 20, 1917, the daughter of John and Urcie
(Smith) Morris. She married David Dobbs on April 20, 1935, in
Clarksville, Arkansas. They moved to Mount Vernon shortly thereafter
and were married for 55 years until his death on February 22, 1991.
Wilma was devoted to her Lord and served Him in many ways. Some of the
more notable things were teaching Sunday school to generations of
church members, she also wrote and sang songs of praise and wrote
poetry.
Wilma is survived by her sister,
June Rohweder of Concrete; brother, Guy Morris of Corona, California;
many nieces and nephews and numerous beloved friends whom she
considered her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, John
and Urcie Morris; brothers, John and Tom Morris; sister, Jean Rogers.
Memorials may be given to a charity of choice.

Paul Nathan Jenkins
Paul Nathan Jenkins, 71, passed away
Friday, May 21, 2010, in Springville, AL.
He was the son of the late Paul D.
and Marguerite Ruth Jenkins of Little Rock, AR.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis
Ballard Jenkins of Springville; two sons, Paul Scott Jenkins of N.
Little Rock and Mark T. Jenkins of Houston, AR; and two daughters,
Carol Jenkins Abdelhalim of Atlanta, GA, and Sherry Crawford of Baton
Rouge, LA; as well as two grandchildren, Sydney Jenkins of Greenbrier
and Ahmed Paul Abdelhalim of Atlanta.
Born March 16, 1939, Mr. Jenkins
spent his childhood in Levy, AR before his family moved to Little Rock.
He was the valedictorian of the 1957 class at Joe T. Robinson High
School and graduated from then Little Rock University in 1961.
Mr. Jenkins served as vice president
and chief financial officer of Severe Service Specialists in
Trussville, AL. Prior to that, he lived in Cabot, AR and Baton Rouge,
LA, where he worked for the Cabot school district and served as a
controller for American Liberty Insurance Company, respectively. While
residing in Little Rock, Mr. Jenkins was vice president of Paramount
Life Insurance, after beginning his career as an auditor for the state
of Arkansas.
Mr. Jenkins was an avid sportsman
and Razorback fan, although two of his kids and several co-workers
tried unsuccessfully to convert him to LSU. He enjoyed playing golf,
and was a very accomplished athlete. He was one of the youngest members
to ever play baseball for the famed Little Rock Doughboys at Lamar
Porter Field, and played on the all-star team alongside Brooks
Robinson. He played third base in that game, if that tells you how good
he was. He later played basketball for Little Rock University, and was
a fast-pitch softball player for many years, being named the most
valuable player in the state of Arkansas in 1973. He later won numerous
gold medals in the Senior Olympics. He was a loving husband and father,
who spent many seasons coaching his sons and daughters teams as well.
A wake was held Tuesday evening
6:00pm-8:00pm at Roller-Cox Funeral Home in Clarksville, AR, followed
by a memorial service Wednesday morning at 10:00am at Roller-Cox
Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers for the service will be Toby Hollier,
John Hollier, Jeff Ellis, John Fey, Ronnie Long, Jake Arthur, Mike
Stewart, and Kyle Roger. Burial will be in Hartman Cemetery. Further

Marcia L. Patterson
Marcia L. Patterson, 57, of Paris,
whose daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Shannon Bates, reside in
Clarksville, died Saturday, May 22, 2010, in Little Rock.
She was a retired Sara Lee Company
employee and daughter of the late J.D. and Ruby Lovelace Grigsby of
Hunt.
Survivors include one other
daughter, Kelly Helms Rund of Heber Springs; two sisters, Patricia
Hunter of Paris and Pamela Waits of Ozark; two brothers, Danny Grigsby
of Montana and Ronnie Grigsby of Altus; seven grandchildren, Tyra
Bates, Laci Bates, Alex Bates, and Nicholas Bates, all of Clarksville,
and Hunter Rund, Martin Rund, and Parker Rund, all of Heber Springs;
and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Crematory arrangements are under the
direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home. A memorial service will be

James G. White
James G. (Jim) White, 71, of
Clarksville, Tenn., died Monday, May 24, 2010, at his residence.
He was a native of Carroll County,
son of the late Cecil Harvey and Thelma Georgia Humbard White, member
of Hilldale Baptist Church, graduate of Southwest Baptist University in
Boliver, Mo., University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a bachelor of
science degree, and the University of Alabama at Huntsville with a
master of business administration degree. He was a consulting engineer
for GEA in LaCrosse, Wis., and a retired Trane Company engineer.
Survivors include his wife,
Charlotte Walton White; one son, Chris White of Clarksville, Tenn.; one
brother, Bill E. (Kathy) White of Bull Shoals; one sister-in-law, Linda
Johnston of Tampa, Fla.; one brother-in-law, Mark Walton of
Clarksville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and
great-nephews.
A celebration of life service will
be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Hilldale Baptist Church with
Dr. Larry Robertson and Rev. Terry Brown officiating.
Visitation will be held from noon
until 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 28, at Hardwicke Funeral Home with
graveside services and burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery with Rev.
Burnett King officiating.

Ed Brooke
George Edward Brooke Jr., age 65, of
Clarksville died on May 18, 2010, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born
on September 10, 1944, in Clarksville, the first of three sons of Laura
Hardwicke and Edward Brooke. He was a member of the beautiful First
Presbyterian Church in Clarksville. In addition to his parents, He was
preceded in death by his aunts, Leone and Louise Brooke of Clarksville.
He loved his grandkids, Zach and
Ashley, and his sons, Eddie and Charlie. He was a kid in his sixties,
and liked his baseball cards. He played bridge and loved to bid three
no trump, and to smile about it. As a senior in high school he was an
All-Star running back for the undefeated, 1961 class A Champions,
Clarksville Panthers football team. He remembered everyone since first
grade. He will miss everybody.
He is survived by two sons, George
Edward Brooke III and wife, Melissa, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Charles
Allen Brooke of Fort Worth, Texas; their mother, Joan Brooke of
Arlington, Texas; two grandchildren, Zachery Edward and Ashley Nicole
of Fort Worth, Texas; and two brothers, James Robert Brooke of Conway
and Kenneth Alan Brooke of Little Rock.
Honorary pallbearers were his bridge
partners and other buddies. Graveside service was at 10 a.m. Saturday,
May 22, at Elmwood Cemetery in Morrilton. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m.
Friday, May 21, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel.
