David Kenneth Higby
David Kenneth Higby, 74, of Lamar
died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, at his home.
He was a native of Hickeytown
Community, son of the late James Martin and Edith Mae Blackard Higby,
retired from the U. S. Military, and was preceded in death by one
sister, Clemmie Jo Higby; and two brothers, James Everett Higby and
Ervin Leon Higby.
Survivors include his wife, Berniece
Meimerstorf Higby; two daughters, Cindy Geels of Lamar and Diana Vaught
of Clarksville; one son, David Don Higby of Rogers; one sister, Vonda
Lamb of Wanette, Okla.; three brothers, Rhuel Douglas Higby of
Russellville, George Allen Higby of Hunt, and Robert Earl Higby of
Antlers, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept.
28, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Sowells
officiating. Burial was in Hickeytown Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Joe McCarley
Jr., Leon Meimerstorf, Robert Petersen, Tim Smith, Donald Lamb, and
James Ray Higby.
Honorary pallbearers were Joe
McCarley Sr., John Rice, Daniel Rice, and Jim Dahlem.
Eugene G. Flisher
Eugene G. Flisher, 75, of Hartman
died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at his home.
He was a native of Grand River,
Iowa, son of the late Albert and Goldie Downey Flisher, Army veteran,
and member of West Park Baptist Church in Ozark.
He is survived by two daughters,
Lesa Harrington and husband, Mark, of Owasso, Okla., and Monica Dovel
and husband, Rick, of Waukee, Iowa; one son, Robert Flisher and wife,
Christy, of Des Moines, Iowa; two sisters, Betty Fitzgerald and Donna
Smith, both of Des Moines, Iowa; one brother, Don Flisher of Des
Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday,
Sept. 24, at West Park Baptist Church in Ozark with Rev. Troy Vaughn
officiating.
Burial was Monday, Sept; 28, in Des
Moines, Iowa.
Local arrangements were under the
direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Gary Levels
Gary Lyn Levels, 56, of Dardanelle
died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center in Hot
Springs.
He was a native of Danville, son of
the late Chelsa Level, and was preceded in death by his grandparents,
David and Sallie Level; and one brother, Austin Level.
Survivors include a son, Michael
Levels of Clarksville; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Virginia
Frost of Centerville and Louise and Leroy Davis of Clarksville; one
brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Becky Level of Danville; two
granddaughters, Kaitlyn Levels of Alexandria, La., and Gracie Levels of
Clarksville; and several nieces and nephews.
A private burial was Monday, Sept.
21, at Brearley Cemetery.
A graveside memorial service was
held at noon Saturday, Sept. 26, at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle.
Arrangements were under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home of
Dardanelle.
Hal David Spencer
Hal David Spencer, 56, of
Clarksville died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at his home.
He was a retired school teacher, of
the Christian Faith and preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Spencer.
He is survived by three daughters,
Cassandra Spencer of San Diego, Calif., Elizabeth Spencer of Rosamond,
Calif., and Ariel Spencer of Clarksville; parents, Tony and Edna
Ramirez of Knoxville; four sisters, Donna Nunn and Diane Harkema, both
of Greenwood, Denise Townsend of Nevada, and Debbie Lane of Texas; one
brother, Robert E. Spencer of Nevada; and one grandchild, Trinity
Porter of Rosamond, Calif.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Saturday,
Sept. 26, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Roger Sanders
officiating. The body will be cremated.
Kenneth Leon Crabtree
Kenneth Leon Crabtree, 88, of Coal
Hill died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at Mercy Hospital-Turner Memorial in
Ozark.
He was a native of Coal Hill, son of
the late Robert Ernest and Vian Evans Crabtree, World War II Army
veteran, prisoner of war on Salvo Island in the Pacific, member of the
Free Jesus Name Church at Coal Hill, and was preceded in death by one
son, Kenneth David Crabtree; one daughter, Jeannie K. Knight; one
sister, Reba Favre; and four brothers, Arlice, Frank, Bill and Andy
Crabtree.
He is survived by one daughter,
Bobbi Lou Burhem of Detroit, Mich.; two sons, Stephen Crabtree of Coal
Hill and Ronald Bokosky of Laton, Calif.; one sister, Micki Hart of
Shirley; one brother, Bernard Crabtree of Clarksville; two
sisters-in-law, Pauline Hatchett Mayfield of Clarksville and Melva
Hanson of Coal Hill; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated. Local
arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Marie Bohannon
Marie Bohannon, 87, of Van Buren,
formerly of Clarksville, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Alma Health
and Rehab.
She was a native of Clarksville,
daughter of the late Tommy and Martha Hardgrave Williams, graduate of
Clarksville High School, retired beautician, member of Oakland Street
Church in Clarksville, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Dana
Bea Bohannon; one sister, Bea Duey; and two brothers, Cecil Williams
and Rueben Williams.
Survivors include her husband of 69
years, Buddie Bohannon; two daughters, Romona Kendrick and husband,
Paul, and Sandra Bullard and husband, James, all of Alma; four
grandchildren, Paula Kromberg of Rogers, Karl Bullard of Alma, Scott
Kendrick of Tuttle, Okla., and Blake Kendrick of Fort Smith; and nine
great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were
at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville with
Rev. Larry Farris officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of
Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Ronnie Wayne Patterson
Ronnie Wayne Patterson, 52, of
Russellville died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at Saint Mary’s Regional
Medical Center.
He was a native of Oark, son of the
late Gussie and Eula Maye Stewart Patterson, an employee of CenturyTel
in Springfield, Colo., and preceded in death by one brother, James
Patterson.
Survivors include his companion,
Vicki Stobaugh of Russellville; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy
and Pearl Patterson of Leslie, Lonnie and Jackie Patterson of
Evansville, Larry and Kathy Patterson of Ozark, and Phillip and Mary
Patterson of Alma; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Jack
Pritchard of Mulberry, Ruby and Gordon Bradshaw and Frankie and Eddie
Smith, all of Greenland, Reabertia and Bob Wilbourne of West Point,
Miss., Phyllis and Larry Miller of Leon, Okla., and Brenda and Jerry
Winton of Pocola, Okla.; numerous nephews and nieces; one daughter,
Paula, of Ozark; and one grandchild, Ramsey, of Ozark.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept.
25, at Shinn Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville with Rev. Jay Ham
officiating. Burial was in Batson Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rick Harrell,
Wallace McCulley, Emmitt Barnes, Chuck Stuckey, Lee Schwartz, Donald
Bentley, John Jacobs and Tim Arnold.
