Dr. Coy C. Lee
Dr. Coy C. Lee, 86, died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Eastgate Village in Muskogee, Okla.
He was a native of the Harmony Community in Johnson County, son of the late Charles E. and Essie Cecil Shamblin Lee, attended school in Ozark, and was the widower of Alice Melton Lee and Connie Smith Lee.
He served in the United States Army prior to attending Austin College in Sherman, Texas, where he received a bachelor's degree, Dubuque Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa, where he received a master of divinity degree and the University of Arkansas where he received a master's degree in philosophy. He received a doctor of divinity degree from the University of the Ozarks in 1965.
Lee was ordained June 27, 1951, at Harmony Presbyterian Church and installed as pastor at Harmony and Spring Hill churches. He also taught at the University of the Ozarks. Over the years, Dr. Lee also pastored churches in Wagoner and Fort Gibson, Okla., and served as director of admissions for Dubuque Theological Seminary as well as being the executive presbyter of eastern Oklahoma until his retirement in 1984.
After retirement, he taught philosophy and Bible at the University of the Ozarks, filled the pulpit occasionally at several churches in western Arkansas and served at Harmony Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include four stepdaughters, Renee White Lawrence of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Mary White of Gainesville, Fla., Vicki White Muratore of Tulsa, Okla., and Ann White Briggs of Clearwater, Fla.; five grandchildren, Lauri Varnadore, Christy Pease, Megan McKinzie, and Eric and Gemma Briggs; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at the Harmony Presbyterian Church with Pastor Robert Eyres and Rev. Tracy Julian officiating.
Interment was in Highland Cemetery at Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

John Warren
John Marshall Warren, 75, of Dardanelle, whose daughter and son-in-law, Leslie Wave and John Mori, reside in Clarksville, died Monday, June 29, 2009, at his home.
He was a native of the New Hope Community, son of the late Ira Otha and Artie Grace Moore Warren, chief medical technologist at Dardanelle Hospital for 32 years, and preceded in death by three sisters, Juanita Gray, Margaret Toffelmire and Wave Warren; one nephew, Bobby Gray; two nieces, Shirley Gilbert and Delores Finch; and a daughter-in-law, Lora Brown Warren.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, LaVina Marie Dawson Warren; one other daughter and son-in-law, Hope and Joe Massery of Maumelle; one son, John Dawson Warren of Dardanelle; one brother and sister-in-law, Sonny and Melba Warren of Dardanelle; six grandchildren, Courtney Warren of Paragould, Michael Taylor and Neil Taylor of Clarksville, Zachary Warren of Alvin, Texas, and Tyler Massery and Gillian Gullett of Maumelle; and two great-grandchildren, Sara Beth Cline and Brayden Jace Cline of Paragould.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 2, at Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel. The body was cremated.
Honorary pallbearers were Bob Bata, Tommy Baker, Chuck Hastings, Billy Bob Bullock, Glyndal Roberts and Buster Berryhill.

Marilyn Sue Tate
Marilyn Sue Tate, 70, of Ozone died Friday, July 3, 2009, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
She was a native of Picher, Okla., daughter of the late Jesse and Geneva Clouse Crice, attended school in Picher, Okla., graduate of Arkansas Valley Vo-Tech, cook and nurse's aide, member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Crice.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Guy L. Tate Sr.; five daughters, Evonne McClaine and husband, George, of Hagarville, Peggy Tate of Oklahoma, Sherry Tate of Bentonville, Jessica Tate of Clarksville, and Elizabeth Kemp and husband, Leeroy, of Knoxville; three sons, Guy Tate Jr. of Oklahoma, James Tate and wife, Karen, and Douglas Tate and wife, Jill, all of Lamar; two sisters, Laura Hill and husband, Wayne, and Cindy Raffelson and husband, Norman, all of Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Clarksville with Charles Schubarth officiating.
Burial was in Holman Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were George McClaine, Nathan McClaine, Leeroy Kemp, Heath Kemp, Jeffery Freeman, and Travis Kemp.
Honorary pallbearers were Derrick Tate and Brian Fetters.
Teresa Mae Williams
Teresa Mae Williams, 47, of Coal Hill died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Ozark and daughter of the late Thomas Douglas Edgin and Helen Lavern Standley Holman.
Survivors include two daughters, Yvette Edgin and Shawn Boesiger of Ozark; three sisters, Yvonne Marvel of Clarksville, Frances Williams of Ozark, and Patsy Moore of Midland; stepfather, Edward Holman of Oklahoma; five grandchildren; and companion, Vyrlen Sanders of Coal Hill.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, July 6, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donnie Marvel officiating. The body was cremated.
Karen Boen-Cagle
Karen Boen-Cagle, 44, of Ozark died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Fort Smith.
She was a member of Centerpoint Baptist Church, native of Springdale, daughter of the late James H. and Lucille A. Peoples Boen, and was preceded in death by one sister, Patty Sheppard.
She is survived by two daughters, Ashton Cagle and Amber Cagle of the home; one son, Kyle Cagle of the home; stepmother, Shirley Boen of Clarksville; two sisters, Janet McGinnis of Alma and Yvonne Williams of Ozark; and one brother, James Leroy Boen of Paris.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 9, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel followed by burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Ozark.
Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Sheppard, Lanny Heath McGinnis, J. L. (Bubby) Boen, Anthony Boen, Michael Sirratt, and Travis Ball.
Honorary pallbearers will be Peach Tree Hospice, Area Agency Hospice.

Elsie Haas
Elsie Haas, 82, of Lamar died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was owner of E-Z Pawn and Gun, member of Grace Lutheran Church, widow of Ambrose Haas, and preceded in death by one son, Jerold Haas; and three brothers, Louis Zellmer, Alfred Zelmer and John Zelmer.
She is survived by two sons, James Haas and wife, Sandy, of Milwaukee, Wis., and Jeff Haas and wife, Tami, of Lamar; four grandchildren, Christopher Haas and wife, Jamie, Julie Haas, Tommy Haas, and Jordan Haas; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Haas and Phoebe Haas; sister-in-law, Margaret Zelmer of Burnsville, N. C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, at Grace Lutheran Church in Clarksville with Pastor Herb Swanson officiating.
Burial will be in the Lutherville Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Terry Pelts, Jerry Holman, Edmund Drittler, Larry Vanover, Dennis Ragsdale, and Donny Frost.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Clarksville Cardinals Baseball Team.

Eleanora A. Owings
Eleanora A. Owings, 87, of Clarksville died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at her home.
She was a native of Baltimore, Md., daughter of the late William and Agnes Notra Hauer, and widow of Warren Owings.
Survivors include one son, Roger Owings and wife, Billie Jean, of Clarksville; two brothers, Jimmy Hauer and Butch Hauer, both of Baltimore, Md.; four grandchildren, Michelle, Jonathan, Roger and Willie Owings; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 9, at Holy Hill Memorial Garden in White Marsh, Md. Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Nancy Blaine Capps
Nancy Blaine Hurley Capps, a longtime resident of Clarksville, passed away on June 28, 2009, at Portsmouth, New Hampshire, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born January 27, 1929, at Alpena, Arkansas, to the late Sterlin and Constance Hudspeth Hurley. She was the widow of Noble Capps of Clarksville whom she married in 1948.
A graduate of Harrison High School, she attended the University of Arkansas where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women in Clarksville and also a member of Chapter CJP.E.O. For many years she was active in Hurley Enterprises, Inc. and served as vice president.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Margaret Capps White and husband, Lee, of Kennebunkport, Maine; a granddaughter, Anne Blaine White Colley and husband, Jerod, of Westford, Massachusetts; a brother, Robert A. Hurley and wife, Susan, of Clarksville, Arkansas; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Denby Capps of Clarksville, Arkansas; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Ryan Colley and Ethan Noble Colley of Westford, Massachusetts. Other survivors include a nephew, two nieces and several cousins.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 10, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville with the Reverend Aaron Barling officiating. A reception will be held in the Family Life Center following the service.
Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Clarksville, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to the Clarksville First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
