Anneliese Martha Fowler
Anneliese Martha Fowler, 81, of Clarksville died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark.
She was a native of Zweibrucken, Germany, daughter of the late Gustav and Luise Shuster Muller, widow of Charley J. Fowler Sr., high school graduate, and preceded in death by one son, Wolfgang Muller.
She is survived by two daughters, Polly Kraus of Fort Smith and Susan Woodard of Lamar; one son, Charley J. Fowler Jr. of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Gerdi Leiner of Germany; one brother, Gunter Baesel of Germany; and eight grandchildren, Sarah Patterson and Jessica Solley, both of Fort Smith, Elizabeth Fowler and Holley Fowler, both of Mounds, Okla., Corey Woodard of Lamar, and Eva Muller, Jorg Muller, and Florian Muller, all of Germany.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, April 6, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Regina Turner officiating. Burial was in West Mount Zion Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Steve Stephan, Joe Fowler, Donnie Harkreader, Mike Fowler, Bob Fowler, and Duane Steele.
Randy Fowler served as an honorary pallbearer.
Bill Peak
Bill Peak, 74, of Hartman died Saturday, March 28, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mihoko Peak.
Survivors include one stepson, Robert Swann.
Arrangements were under the direction of North Little Rock Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Charles Key
Charles (Blackie) Key, 91, of Lamar died Friday, April 3, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Denning, retired Hanford Company employee, World War II Navy veteran, attended Lighthouse Christian Center in Clarksville, and was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and four brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Gracie Einert Key; four stepdaughters, Alma Holt and husband, Paul, and Myrna DeForest, all of Lamar, Linda White and husband, Don, of Clarksville, and Betty Killough and husband, Mike, of Knoxville; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nephews; and numerous nieces including Wanda Dailey and husband, George, of Clarksville.
Graveside services and burial were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, at the Mount Vernon Cemetery with Rev. William Hickman officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Harold E. Chapman
Harold Edson Chapman, 80, of Clarksville died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at his home.
He was a native of West Virginia, son of the late Carl and Edith Stone Chapman, and member of the Clarksville First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Nine Chapman; one son, Ray Chapman and wife, Deborah, of San Diego, Calif.; two grandsons, Ryan Chapman and wife, Melissa, and Matthew Chapman and wife, Michele; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 6, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Hanshaw officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Jack Walter Wilson
Jack Walter Wilson, 85, of Clarksville died Friday, April 3, 2009, at his home.
He was born at Woodbine, Kan., son of the late Harry Calvin and Anna Belle Smith Wilson, retired from the military, and member of American Legion Harmony #433, Free and Accepted Masons, Harmonn, Scottish Rite of Free Masonary, ST USA, 320 Jack W. Wilson Vallery of Fort Smith Orent of Arkansas, Christian Friends, Commander NO 35, Russellville, F. D. Goza Council 76, Disabled American Veteran Arkansas #62, River Valley NO 049 Russellville, and Royal Arch Masons.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Lee Lemmerman Wilson; one daughter, Starr Ann Stafford of Coal Hill; six sons, Stacy Wayne Wilson of Alma, Stephen Wesley Wilson of Satellite Beach, Fla., Stanley Ward Wilson and Stuart Wade Wilson, both of Ozark, and Sterling Wynn Wilson and Stafford Wray Wilson, both of Rogers; two sisters, Harriett Schaaf of Missouri and Pat Beil of Virginia; 21 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A private service was held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 5, at the Wilson home with Rev. Frank Richter officiating. The body was cremated. Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Jessie M. Walker
Jessie M. Walker, 86, of Dover, formerly of Johnson County, died Friday, April 3, 2009, at her home.
She was a native of Waterloo, Iowa, daughter of the late Harry and Lena Soper French, Baptist, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Walker.
Survivors include her husband, William H. Walker; one daughter, Carol Ann Carney of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two sons, William L. Walker of Russellville and Ronald E. Walker of Dover; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 6, at the First Baptist Church in Dover with Rev. Jeff Paxton officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Jo Ann Ralph Holt, 76, of Lamar died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at her home.
She was a retired school teacher, born at Spadra, daughter of the late Earl and Bonnie Bishop Ralph, widow of Virgil Eugene Holt, and was preceded in death by one grandchild.
Survivors include three daughters, Janice Holtzclaw and husband, Rudy, of Coal Hill, Barbara Payne and Amanda Smith and husband, Randy, all of Lamar; three sons, Steve Holt and wife, Karen, of Ozone, Rick Holt and wife, Karla, of Clarksville, and Christopher Holt and wife, Angie, of Morrilton; two sisters, LaQuita Cowell of Hartman and Sue Hurtt of Alix; four brothers, Mike Ralph of Hartman, Bill Ralph and Jimmy Ralph, both of Clarksville, and Gary Ralph of Houston, Texas; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, April 3, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Brown and Leon Holt officiating. Burial was in Lamar Cemetery.

Josephine Stallings
Josephine Stallings, 81, of Hartman died Sunday, April 5, 2009, at her home.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Roy and Gladys McBee Sudsberry, widow of J. D. Stallings, graduate of Coal Hill High School, member of Hartman Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Mayfield.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Pannell and husband, Elmer, and Debby Mooney and husband, Randy, all of Hartman; five grandchildren, Lee Pannell, Ami Kennessey, Penny Johnson, Mark Mooney, and Heather Johnston; nine great-grandchildren; and companion, C. J. Harris.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, at the Hartman Baptist Church with Rev. Grady Glass officiating.
Burial was in Hartman Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Kanna Lou Crotts
Kanna Lou Sams Crotts, 71, of Lamar died Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Lamar, daughter of the late Tom and Ruby Carter Sams, 1955 graduate of Lamar High School, Baptist, former restaurant owner and operator, and preceded in death by twins, Kyan and Jason Crotts; one sister, Jessie Freeman; and one brother, Tommy Ray Sams.
Survivors include one daughter, Kelia Moore and husband, Pete, of Lamar; two sons, Doug Crotts and wife, Yvonne, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Tanif Crotts and wife, Christina, of Clarksville; two sisters, Edna Henderson of Hulka, Miss., and Debbie Wilhelm of Clarksville; one brother, Billy Sams of Hulka, Miss.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating. Burial was in Lamar Cemetery.

Louise Freeman
Louise Freeman, 82, of the Bullfrog Valley Community north of Dover, whose son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Rutha Freeman reside in Clarksville, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009.
She was born on Ledford Mountain in the Bullfrog Valley Community to the late Earl and Eddie Mae Kraus Mathews, charter member of the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God in Bullfrog Valley and was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Melton; granddaughter, Sara Beth Mason; five sisters, Eunice Mathews, Edna Freeman, Liz Reed, Rhonda Pearl Ross and Annie Mae McNeely; and one brother, Earl Mathews Jr.
She is survived by two other sons, Quinten Freeman and wife, Linda, and Boyd Freeman and wife, Wanda, all of Dover; two daughters, Janice Glasspoole and husband, Frank, of Russellville and Karen Schwartz and husband, Donald, of Fort Smith; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Katherine Leavell of Dover and Dorothy Grady of Clinton, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 4, at the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God with Rev. Bruce Smithson officiating.
Burial was at Owens Cemetery in Bullfrog Valley under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
Active pallbearers were grandsons, Kelly, Bobby, Daniel and Darren Freeman, and nephews, Ronnie Mathews and Gary Freeman.

Mary Virginia Notter, 93, of Knoxville died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home in Lamar.
She was born in Jenkins, Ky., daughter of the late Almos and Hattie Woods Csutoros, widow of Clarence Notter, Baptist, and was preceded in death by two daughters, Delores Bruce and Betty Christopher; two sons, H. C. Bruce and Robert Bruce; one sister, Irene Harden; and one brother, Billy Csutoros.
She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Cravens and husband, Billy, of Knoxville; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 4, at Lamar Baptist Church with Rev. John Griffin officiating.
Burial was in Knoxville Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Nancy R. Singleton
Nancy Rueline Singleton, 63, of Elm Springs died Monday, April 6, 2009, at Regency Hospital in Springdale.
She was born in Clarksville to Noel and Ruby Willey, 31-year employee of Harp's Grocery Stores, Baptist, and was preceded in death by one son, Bo Rickman.
Survivors include her husband, Quince (Sonny) Singleton; three daughters, Angie Russell and husband, Bobby, and Tonya Craine and husband, Robert, all of Springdale, and Lea Ann Holland and husband, Ricky, of Rogers; one son, Scott Ray Singleton and wife, Sherri, of Pea Ridge; one brother, Ragon Willey of Arizona; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Springdale with burial in Elm Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Cook, Josh Craine, Brandon Kesner, Derek Holland, Elmer Guerrero and Andrew Franco.

Oleta Yarbrough Payne
Oleta Mae Yarbrough Payne, 80, of Farmington died Feb. 25, 2009, at her home.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Paula and Hobart Yarbrough, retired after 35 years of service with Mountain Bell in Denver, Colo., and was preceded in death by two daughters, Rose Douthit of Rogers and Kathy Payne of Springfield, Mo.; and one grandson, Sean Payne of Prospect, Ky.
Survivors include one son, John Payne of Gravette; three daughters, Rita Damiana of Tehachapi, Calif., Leta Payne of Farmington, and Darcy Smith of Wesley; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
The body was donated to medical science.
Rebecca Inez Mayfield
Rebecca Inez Mayfield, 78, of Angleton, Texas, died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Cypress Woods Nursing Facility.
She was a former resident of the Spadra Community and Clarksville, daughter of the late Thurlo and Edith Whitson, attended Clarksville High School, moved to Texas in 1952, member of First Baptist Church of Angleton, Texas, attended Cowboy Church in Brazoria, Texas, volunteer in numerous community activities including Brazoria County Fair Association, ActionS, Brazoria County REACT, local Red Cross, and was a full time employee of the National Red Cross. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Arthur Ervin Mayfield; one son, Kenneth Ervin Mayfield; son-in-law, Freddy Shanks; brother-in-law, John Charles Mayfield; two sisters, Lorene Chesser and Geneva Johnson; and one brother, Johnny Whitson.

Shirley Thompson
Shirley Thompson, our loving mother and grandmother left to be with the Lord on April 3, 2009. She was born in Warrensburg, New York on January 11, 1935.
She leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Betty Thompson of Knoxville, Arkansas; a daughter and son-in-law, Ricky and Linda Sears of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a grandson and wife, Rickey and Robin Sears of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a granddaughter and husband, Jamie and Lisa Shull of Muldrow; a grandson and fiancée, Jeff Thompson and Sandi Watson; a granddaughter and husband, Wes and Aimee Pearson of Knoxville, Arkansas. She has six great-granddaughters, Becky, Micah, Mariah, Emma, Ashlynn and Josie; two great-grandsons, Bryston and Devin.
She was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Wade Michael Shull; one brother, Ralph Stone; one sister, Doris Millis.
Mom lived at Dover, Arkansas. She was a Baptist by Faith and loved the Lord.
She worked at Johnson County Hospital, Mickels Nursing Home, Legacy Lodge and area agency for most of her life. She loved caring for others, always taking care of her families' needs before her own.
Our family will be greatly saddened by her loss, but we have comfort knowing that she no longer suffers and is in a better place.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 6, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home, Clarksville, Arkansas. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel, Clarksville, Arkansas.
Pallbearers were Jeff Thompson, Rickey Sears, Jamie Shull, Wesley Pearson, Charles Sears and David Pitts.
