Anthony E. Morse
Anthony E. Morse, 71, of Lamar died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Cravens, son of the late A. E. and Ruby Hutton Morse, served in the Army National Guard, member of Oakland Street Full Gospel Church and retired Inland Cold Storage employee.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Martin Morse; two sons, Mike Morse of Lamar and Mark Morse of Basehor, Kan.; one sister, Christine Perceful of Fayetteville; one brother, Adriaen Morse of Fairfax, Va.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral was at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 12, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Sory and Rev. Dorsey Martin officiating. Burial was in Knoxville Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Wayne Rothmyer, Tyler Morse, Paul Mason, Rodney Martin, Adriaen Morse, and Matthew Morse.
Honorary pallbearers were Ronald Martin, Terry Masson, Doug Martin, and Shawn Schabell.
Betty Lou Kuhlman
Betty Lou Jones Kuhlman, 81, of Hastings, Mich., formerly of Clarksville, died Friday, March 6, 2009.
She was a native of Lawrence, Kan., daughter of the late William and Lettie Trivitt-Elmore Jones, widow of James C. Kuhlman, and was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are ten children, Joyce Eaves, Patricia (Bill) Ross, Barbara (Wendell) Saladin, James William Kuhlman, Michael Kuhlman, Carolyn (Brian) Bailey of Morrilton, Rosemary Rye of Hartman, Alice (Regan) Chase, Judy (Bruce) Burgess, and Jackie White of Clarksville; one foster daughter, Marie (Jim) Meilstrup; 29 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa, Mich. Burial was in Woodland Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or a charity of the donor's choice.
Billy Keith Gregory
Billy Keith Gregory, 62, of Clarksville died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at his home.
He was a native of Oark and retired Knoxville Equipment employee.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Gail Coats Gregory; two sons, Terry Mack Gregory and wife, Saundra, of Clarksville and Tommy Duane Gregory and wife, Robin, of Hartman; parents, William C. and Bertha Elizabeth Barnett Gregory of Pettigrew; one sister, Judy Stout and husband, Jerry, of Oark; one brother, Jimmy D. Gregory and wife, Brenda, of Oark; and seven grandchildren, Taylor, Lindsey and Coby Gregory, Anthony and Timothy Johnston, and Ashton and Savannah Gregory.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Yale Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Bill Acord, Fred Dougan, Donnie Pelts, Doug Hamilton, Jerry Dale, and Jamie Jones.
Honorary pallbearers were Leon Peden, Dick Tyler, Robert Carter, and all Knoxville Equipment employees.
Carol J. Patterson
Carol J. Patterson, 64, of Clarksville died Monday, March 16, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Ernest and Nell Dean Howard Smith, widow of Glen D. Patterson, member of New Hope Church of the Nazarene in Clarksville, and was preceded in death by an infant son, Scott Addis.
Survivors include two sons, Robert E. Addis of Chicago, Ill., and Jason E. Addis and wife, Racheal, of Clarksville; one brother, Jerry Smith of Little Rock; and 12 grandchildren, Quentin, Olivia, Aiden, Daniel, Katie, Eddy, Levi, Rebecca, Kristen, Justin, Ashley, and Nikki.
Graveside services and burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at the Harmony Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Newton officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
David Lee Flurry
David Lee Flurry, 44, of Bonanza, whose father and stepmother, Daniel and Delores Flurry, reside in Clarksville, died Friday, March 6, 2009, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
He was a native of Wichita, Kan.
Other survivors include one son, Terrell Flurry of Cameron; mother, Betty Flurry of Bonanza; and four sisters, Sonja Taylor and Angie Flurry, both of Bonanza, Laura Perkins of Section, Fla., and Becky Randall of Muskogee, Okla.
Funeral was at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at Bonanza Assembly of God Church with burial at Old Union Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers were Bobby and Steve Flurry, Drake Lane, Derek McFarland, Jerry Parsons, Eddie McCutchens, Brian Crump and Jimmy Boster.
Faith E. Tate
Faith E. Tate, 68, of Ozone died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Hutchinson, Kan., daughter of the late Charles and Dolly Baylock, and was preceded in death by one son, Timmy Tate.
Survivors include her husband, Doy L. Tate; two sons, Richard Tate and Todd Tate, both of Ozone; one sister, Barbara Avery of Oxnard, Calif.; one brother, Paul McKensey of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dolly and Herb Vaile of Ozone.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Gerald A. Pentzer
Gerald A. Pentzer, 84, of Clarksville died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Chanute, Kan., son of the late Herbert and Georgia Fay Williamson Pentzer, graduate of Ponca City (Oklahoma) High School, received a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering, served in U. S. Air Force 20 years during World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War as a pilot, fighter, bomber and forward air controller, recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and the Distinguished Flying Cross from missions over North Vietnam, member of Hawg Country Corvette Club, and was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marybell Pentzer, and one daughter, Linda Loell.
He is survived by two sons, Jerry Pentzer of Ozark and Larry Pentzer of Hudson, Fla.; two sisters, Alice Auterson of Clarksville and Aeileen (Sug) Speer of Vian, Okla.; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Liberty Hill Cemetery with Rev. Brad Scott officiating. Military funeral honors were by the Little Rock Air Force Honor Guard. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Jimmy Eugene Clayborn
Jimmy Eugene Clayborn, 46, of Longview, Texas, formerly of Lamar, died at his home Thursday, March 12, 2009.
He was a truck driver, son of the late Jimmy and Barbara Clayborn of Lamar, and preceded in death by one brother, Larry Keys of Cedarville.
Among the survivors are three sisters, Patricia Lofgren of Kilgore, Texas, Donna Underwood and husband, Ray, of Longview, Texas, and Jeanie Rives and husband, Junior, of Oark; nieces and nephews, Stephanie Morse and Jeremy Keys of Cedarville, Chatty Easley of Kilgore, Texas, Billy Clayborn of Harleton, Texas, and Jimmy Rives of Oark; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Private memorial services were held Sunday, March 15, at the home of a niece in Kilgore, Texas, with Chaplain Jay McCasland officiating.
Nina Louise Byrne
Nina Louise Ranne Byrne, 99, of Savoy, Texas, whose daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Eugene Westbrook, reside in Clarksville, died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Mullican Care Center.
She was a daughter of the late Carrie and Joe Ranne, native of Nolandville, Texas, graduate of Gunter Bible College, retired school teacher having received a teacher's certificate from Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, member of the Church of Christ, and was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Paul Byrne; one sister, Odessa Harville of Whitesboro, Texas; and two brothers, Joe Ranne of Ruidoso, N. M., and James Ranne of Llano, Texas.
Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Doris Byrne of Savoy, Texas; two sisters, Inda Young of Whitesboro, Texas, and Jocille Tipton of Huntsville, Ala.; two brothers, Roger Ranne of Albuquerque, N. M., and Larry Ranne of San Diego, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Kris Westbrook and Kit Westbrook, both of Clarksville, Regan Westbrook of Fort Smith, Lisa Adair and Ed Westbrook, both of Ignacio, Colo., Lana Siemens of Chestnut Mound, Tenn.; Melanie Gaddy of Savoy, Texas, and Cheryl Byrne of Sherman, Texas; 21 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service was held Wednesday, March 11, at Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel in Savoy, Texas, with Keith Avaritt of Clarksville and John Gaddy of Savoy, Texas, officiating. Burial was at Dixie Cemetery in Whitesboro, Texas.
Pallbearers were Kit Westbrook, Kris Westbrook, Isaac Westbrook, Blaine Westbrook, Kevin Gaddy and David Gaddy.
