Ira Ellen Brightman
Ira Ellen Brightman, 89, of Knxoville died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at Good Shepard Medical Center in Longview, Texas.
She was a native of Knoxville, daughter of the late George and Cora Elizabeth Thomas Adams, widow of Andrew J. Brightman, and a Baptist.
Survivors include one daughter, Vivian Watkins of Longview, Texas; two sons, Dr. Andrew Brightman of Shalamar, Fla., and Raymond Brightman of Knoxville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at Bethel Baptist Church in Knoxville with Rev. Lee Cording officiating.
Burial was in Knoxville Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were James Richard Hall, James Delbert Hall, Duane Childers, Paul James Hall, Rick Guthrie, and Adam Childers.
Loyd D. Laster
Loyd Dawson Laster, 91, of Webb City, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, in Webb City, Mo.
He was a native of Edna, son of the late Oliver Clark Laster and Minnie May Hurn Laster, graduate of Clarksville High School, earned a degree at Draughons School of Business in Dallas, Texas, and while there was employed as a sales clerk at the Baptist Book Store. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II, served as a deacon in the Baptist Church and was a member of First Baptist Church in Webb City, Mo. He spent his life in sales including insurance, cars and health products and retired from Pitney Bowes. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Jewell Lorene Williams Laster; and two sisters, Avis Ruthella Laster Lewis and Emmagene Laster Huegel.
Survivors include two sons, William Edward Laster of Little Rock and Gerald Wayne Laster of Kemah, Texas; four daughters, Tena DeAnne Pilkington of Carrollton, Texas, Sandra Kaye Price of Webb City, Mo., Linda Gail Stubblefield of Seattle, Wash., and Meridith Jane Cope of Dayton, Ohio; one brother, Oliver Wayne Laster of Haymarket, Va., 17 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville followed by a memorial service at First Baptist Church in Clarksville with Rev. John Sherwood officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home of Webb City, Mo.

Lucy E. Black
Lucy Elizabeth Black, 85, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at Paris Health and Rehab in Paris.
She was a native of the Harmony Community, daughter of the late Jess and Tula Self McKnight, widow of James Robert Black, retired cook, member of Stillwell Bible Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one son, Charles Wilburn Black; and six brothers.
Survivors include one daughter, Janice Sue Yates of Anderson, S. C.; three sons, Shannon Terry Black of O'Fallon, Mo., Joe Black of Ozark, and James Ray Black of Clarksville; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at West Mount Zion Cemetery near Hartman with Rev. Steve Askins officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers were Clint Black, Wade Black, Cody Black, Jeremy Avaritt, Wesley Baker, and James Keith Baker.
Raymond Pug Lovell
Raymond Pug Lovell, 84, of Clarksville died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at Clarksville.
He was a retired Terminix technician, member of Full Gospel Temple Church in Ozark where he was a lifetime trustee, U. S. Army veteran of World War II, a Prisoner of War, recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, 32nd degree Mason, member of Ozark Lodge No. 79 and Scottish Rite; former justice of the peace, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Lena Adams Lovell; and one daughter, Wilma Ray Lovell.
Survivors include his wife, Gearldine Patrick Lovell of Clarksville; two daughters, Rhonda Schmalz and husband, Mike, of Paris and Reba Newton and husband, Sam, of Maumelle; three grandchildren, Alica Mathews, Travis and wife, Mindy Ragsdale and Candace Ragsdale; two honorary grandchildren, Carmie McChristian and Jason Parrish; and three great-grandchildren, Deacon Mathews, Samantha Mathews, and Reign Ragsdale.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Ozark Full Gospel Temple Church with burial at Mt. View Cemetery at Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Pallbearers were Dewight Stepp, J. C. Parrish, Alvin Warden, Tommy Adams, Ronnie Adams, and Bobby Adams.
Honorary pallbearers were Darrell McMillan, Paul Williams, Leroy Stacy, Billy Don McCartney, and Jackie Young.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark.
