Frankie M. Burks
Frankie Morrow Burks, 77, of Clarksville died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at her home.
She was a native of Ozark, Baptist, widow of J. G. Morrow, and was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Sharon Noyes; one great-granddaughter, Daci Rogers; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Murline Shatwell and husband, Kenneth, of Clarksville; one son, Mike Morrow of Fort Smith; one brother, Mark Nichols of Ozark. four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Erwin officiating. Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery at Hunt.
Active pallbearers were Jimmy Harden, Bobby Harden, Chris Harden, Darrell Harden, James Ellerbee, Paul Timmerman, and Gary Jones.
Honorary pallbearers were Smokey Harden, Eddie Don Morrow, Billy Askins, John Stewart, David Davidson, Dean Nichols, Bud Morrow and Bruce Ailstock.
Jeff Joe Johnson
Jeff Joe Johnson, 95, of Lamar died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
He was a native of Lamar, son of the late Albert and Myrtle Harmon Johnson, member of Fair Park Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Ola Allen and Lenora Crutchfield; and seven brothers, Melvin, Earl, Lovell, Donell, Dayton, Leon and Arnold Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Mae Johnson; one sister, Annie Bixler of Saxton, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Humphrey Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Rev. Steve Williams and Rev. Todd Davis officiating. Burial will be in Holman Cemetery.
Jimmy Leon Evans
Jimmy Leon Evans, 68, of Hartman died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, in Hartman.
He was a native of Hartman, son of the late Dewey and Amy Hook Evans, graduate of Hartman High School, and former employee of Clarksville Footwear.
Survivors are one daughter, Raynie Curtis of Hartman; one son, Mike Evans of Hartman; one sister, Wilda Lamberson of North Little Rock; two brothers, Charles Evans and David Evans, both of Hartman; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside memorial services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Hess Cemetery at Coal Hill under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Joshua M. Moore
Joshua M. Moore, 27, of Pueblo West, Colo., formerly of Johnson County, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Hazel and Quentin Bean; and paternal grandparents, Robert and Rebecca Moore.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Evelyn (Bean) and Paul Anderson of Pueblo West, Colo., formerly of Johnson County; father and stepmother, Stan and Dorothy Moore of Holdenville, Okla.; two sisters, Michelle Moore of McKinney, Texas and Melanie Uscocovich of Guayaquil, Ecuador; one brother, Adam Moore and wife, Laura, of Victoria, BC, Canada; and three nephews, Santiago Uscocovich of Eucador, Eli Moore of Texas, and Caleb Moore of Canada.
The body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to any drug abuse organization of the donor's choice.
Loma Dell Cates
Loma Dell Cates, 87, of Clarksville died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Holbart, Ind., daughter of the late Kanute and Estella Baas Floudquist, widow of Hodge C. Cates, and a Jehovah's Witness.
She is survived by one daughter, Laura Sams of Lamar; three grandchildren, Alaina Richardson and husband, Wesley, of Clarksville, Lee Sams and wife, Jessica, of Ozone, and Terry Sams of Lamar; and four great-grandchildren, Logan and Josie Sams and April and Dane Richardson.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.
Burial will be in Rankin Cemetery near Ozark under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Terry Dean Stewart
Terry Dean Stewart, 36, of Wyoming, formerly of Oark, died Nov. 1, 2008.
He was an Army sharp shooter with the 36th Infantry during Desert Storm, construction employee, and Baptist.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Marilyn and Dean Case of Oark; and one sister, Tammy Stewart of Salus.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Oark Cemetery with Rev. Darin Harden officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
William Dee Davis
William Dee Davis, 21, of Clarksville died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at his home.
He was a native of Wichita, Kan., and attended Hilltop Church.
Survivors include his wife, Tami Baskins Davis; father, William H. Davis of Oklahoma City, Okla.; mother, Tammie Fanning of Wichita, Kan.; and one brother, Christopher Davis of Wichita, Kan.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Nov. 15, at Clarion Hotel in Oklahoma City, Okla. Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Phyllis E. Barger
Phyllis Eleanor Barger, 94, died Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Ozark Nursing Home in Ozark, Arkansas.
She was born in San Simone, Arizona on June 14, 1914, to the late David Wesley and Nellie Pick Stouffer. She lived most of her adult life in Knoxville, Arkansas and was a member of the Knoxville Baptist Church.
Phyllis leaves behind one sister-in-law, Lena Stouffer of North Little Rock, Arkansas; five nieces, Emma Ruth Boyle of Litchfield Park, Arizona, Donna Anderson of Sherwood, Arkansas, Deborah Thomason of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Marcie Stouffer of California, and Karen Williams of Ada, Oklahoma; seven nephews, Doug and Michael Williams of Fort Smith, Arkansas, James Wesley Stouffer of Oregon City, Ore., Carlton Lee Stouffer of Phoenix, Arizona, Joe Stouffer of Butler, Missouri, David Stouffer of Rogers, Arkansas, and Aaron Stouffer of St. Louis, Missouri. She also leaves behind good friends, Lori White and Pat and David Troglin of Ozark, Arkansas.
Phyllis is preceded in her death by her husband, Howard Barger, and her long time friend, Ira Clubb; and two brothers, Wilbert and Conrad Stouffer.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 6-7 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2008. The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at the Knoxville Baptist Church in Knoxville, Arkansas, with Brother Richard Snyder and Brother Ira Taylor officiating. Burial followed in the West Mount Zion Cemetery in Hartman, Arkansas.
Pallbearers were David Troglin, Douglas Williams, Allen Brown, Rodney Selby, Kerry Nordin and Jim Murdock.
Honorary pallbearers were members of her Sunday School Class.
Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church of Knoxville, the Lamar Cemetery, Lamar, Arkansas, or West Mount Zion Cemetery c/o Hays Chapel Methodist Church.

Fern Fordahl
Fern L. Fordahl, 97, of Bismarck, mother of Lois Roden of Knoxville, passed away peacefully Oct. 26, 2008. In her final days, she was able to have many grandchildren and great-grandchildren spend time with her. They all talked to her about the annual lefse party and they think she kindly waited until they had finished. Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at the Baptist Home, Bismarck, with the Rev. Clyde Leimberer officiating. Burial was in the Concordia Cemetery, Crosby.
Visitation was held from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and continued one hour prior to the service at the Baptist Home.
Fern was born March 19, 1911, in Divide County, the daughter of Henry and Annie (Olson) Lohse. On Jan. 17, 1928, she married Oliver Fordahl, and they had 13 children. Oliver died in 1953, and she was left to raise the last eight children. In June of 1988, she moved to Bismarck, entering the Baptist Home in February 2000.
As a child, she loved being outdoors, tending to the animals and doing field work. As a homemaker, gardening was one of her favorite activities, and canning seemed never-ending; everyone loved her cooking. Embroidering was her favorite hobby and most of her family has at least one memento. For years, her home was the place to be on Saturday afternoons to visit the "out of towner" relatives.
Fern was able to be out and about all those years until August of this year. She was able to travel for some time, and visited all of her children and got to know the extended family. She could recall all the animals encountered on those trips.
Fern can claim 13 children, 37 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren, with the newest one being born just three days before her passing.
She is survived by her daughters, Olive (John) Patton, Union City, Calif., Florence (Richard) Gumke, Sultan, Wash., Jeanette Hansen, Crosby, Emily (Milbert) Boschee, Bismarck, Lois Roden, Knoxville, Ark., Juanita Wilhelmi, Silver Springs, Nev., and Patricia Fordahl, Minot; her sons, Robert Fordahl, Hayward, Calif., and Lowell Fordahl, Everett, Wash., and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Carmen and Eileene; two sons, Leroy and Clifford; two granddaughters; one grandson; her husband; her parents; one brother; and three sisters.
She will be dearly missed by all.
