Alida M. Raquepaw
Alida M. Raquepaw, 77, of Clarksville died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at her home.
She was born in Burt, Mich., daughter of Albert and Joan Lehner DeSander, member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, bus driver for Birch Run (Michigan) School system for 28 years prior to retiring, member of Johnson County Quilters and Interfaith Service Network, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly Raquepaw; one son, George Stead; and one brother, Bud DeSander.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Robert Raquepaw; one daughter, Bobbie Jean Dirrim and husband, Kevin, of Martinsville, Ind.; one son, Robert Dolson and wife, Mary, of Clarksville; one sister, Arlene Hauck of Birch Run, Mich.; one brother, Bernard DeSander of Saginaw, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Rosary service and funeral mass were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father William Wewers officiating.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Audra Smith
Audra Smith, 78, of Russellville died Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
She was a native of Lamar, daughter of the late Floyd and Jessie Cude Hardcastle, widow of Robert H. (Bob) Smith, member of First Baptist Church of Russellville, employee of Cogswell Motors for 28-plus years, where she served in a series of administrative positions, member of the Russellville Downtown Rotary Club serving as president during the 2001-02 Rotary year, and was instrumental in the "Read To Little Me" program which provided books to newborn babies. A Paul Harris Fellow and a Rotary Benefactor, she was named Rotarian of the Year for District 6170 in 2003, and was selected to serve as assistant district governor in 2002-03. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marzo Hardcastle and Richard Hardcastle; and one sister, Ruby Rodden.
Survivors include one son, R. Stephen Smith, M. D., and wife, Nellie, of Roanoke, Va.; one grandson, Ryan Michael Smith of Wichita, Kan.; one granddaughter, Nicole Rieko Smith of Roanoke, Va.; two sisters, Euna Dickey of Russellville, formerly of Johnson County, and Velma Lee of Dover; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Humphrey Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Stephen Davis officiating. Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville.
Active pallbearers were Jan Taylor, Leroy Shatwell, Dickey Shatwell, Mike Newton, Mark Styles and Ryan Smith.
Honorary pallbearers were Don Moak, Melvin Robinson, Baxter Breashears, the Russellville Downtown Rotary Club members, and Cogswell Motor employees.

Cedrick L. Jetton Jr.
Cedrick Lee Jetton Jr., 63, of Fayetteville died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at Springdale.
He was a son of the late Cedrick Lee Jetton Sr., Baptist, Air Force veteran, poultry equipment division manager with Latco Inc., in Lincoln and had been employed in the poultry industry for 30-plus years.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Wheeler Jetton; one son, Tony Jetton and wife, Christina, of Russellville; mother, Genevieve Jetton of Clarksville; one sister, Janice English and husband, Jerry, of Clarksville; one brother, Michael Jetton and wife, Donna, of Menifee; and two grandchildren, Lindsey Jetton and Logan Jetton, both of Russellville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating.
Burial was in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Dorothy Goldsmith
On Friday,Oct. 24th at the tender age of 60 years young Dorothy Goldsmith of Clarksville beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many left this world to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in her eternal heavenly home. She was a devout Christian, former member of Stillwell Baptist Church, and retired Sara Lee employee of 15 years. She was preceded in passing by her father, Howard White, and brother, Danny Ray White, both of Lamar.
Her life will be honored and remembered most by her devoted husband of 43 years, Jerry Goldsmith; her son, Vance Goldsmith and his wife, Lelona; mother, Vonnie White; three brothers, Jimmy, Donny and Ronny White, all of Clarksville; one sister, Nita Faye (Cassie) Powell of Coal Hill; mother-in-law, Lossie Nelson; many nieces and nephews, brother and sister of Lelona, her daughter-in-law, all whom she thought of as her own and many friends and people whose lives she touched and were blessed by throughout her years on this earth.
Instead of flowers, the family asks anyone wishing to honor her memory do so by helping fulfill her last request that all memorials be made to the Gideons International Bible Placement Program or the Christian Missionary Fund of their choice.
Her body will be cremated and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
Emilee Holland
Emilee Holland, 70, of Hunt died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at Clarksville.
She was born August 26, 1938, in Hunt, daughter of the late Everett and Helen Jacobs Thompson, retired from Monroe Footwear after 36 years of service, member of Hunt Gospel Tabernacle where she served as treasurer, and was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Dean Davidson; and two brothers, Gaylard and Willard Thompson.
Survivors include her husband, Vivian Holland of Hunt; one daughter, Pam Selby and husband, Danny, of Knoxville; one son, Donnie Davidson and wife, Revelta, of Hunt; two stepdaughters, Loretta Robinson and husband, Jessie, of Tatum, Texas, and Tammy Anglin and husband, Mike, of Clarksville; two stepsons, Johnny Holland and wife, Cathy, and Dell Holland and wife, Rhonda, all of Clarksville; two sisters, Nadine Bocksnick and husband, Gary, and Willine Parker and husband, Loyd, of Hunt; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and best friend, Laura Patterson of Hunt.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Hunt Gospel Tabernacle with Rev. Leo Villines officiating.
Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery at Hunt under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Ernest Dane Peters
Ernest Dane Peters, 79, of Blytheville died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, in Memphis, Tenn.
He was born in Hartman to Roy and Mary Peters of the Springhill Community, retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service which included several overseas tours, retired from the Arkansas State Police where he was employed as a dispatcher for 20 years, and a member of the Ludwig Masonic Lodge and Gosnell Baptist Church in Blytheville.
He is survived by three children, Ernest D. Peters Jr. of Clarksville, Pam Warren of Walla Walla, Wash., and Loren Kendall Peters of Austin, Texas; three sisters, Dorothy White of Hartman, Mary Jean Goins of Fort Smith and Sylvia Roberts of Roland, Okla.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The body was donated to medical science at UAMS in Little Rock.
Burial will be at a later date.

Leonard E. Scoggins Sr.
Leonard E. Scoggins Sr. of Apison, Tenn., died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Leonard Pirl (L. P.) and Lillian Foulke Scoggins, member of Ozark Seventh-day Adventist Church and was an ordained local elder, former employee of the Civilian Conservation Corp., farmer, carpenter and filling station owner, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Vesta Eilene Scoggins; one sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Willis Jones; one grandson, Billy McKee; and one granddaughter, Cynthia Barefoot.
Survivors include his wife, Leveta Marcotte Scoggins; seven children and spouses, Leonard (Junior) and Nelda Scoggins of Ozark, Laneta Dawaf of Greenbelt, Md., Wanda and Bill McKee, Guy and Judy Scoggins, and Gladys and Ronnie Barefoot, all of Apison, Tenn., Howard and Susan Scoggins of Hagerstown, Md., and Lewis and Linda Scoggins of Cleveland, Tenn.; one sister, Genevieve Jetton of Clarksville; one brother, Eldon Scoggins and wife, Oleta, of Clarksville; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Chattanooga, Tenn. The body will be cremated and a private burial will be held at a later date at the Collegedale Memorial Cemetery.

Michael David Cox, 36, of New Blaine died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at his home.
He was a native of Fort Smith, 1992 graduate of Lamar High School, and member of Crestview Baptist Church at New Blaine.
He is survived by his wife, Belinda Bates Cox; one daughter, Emily Cox of Scranton; two stepdaughters, Sarah Crouch and Alyssa Crouch, both of New Blaine; father, David Cox and wife, Barbara, of Tulsa, Okla.; mother, Linda Haynes and husband, Clay, of Georgia; grandmother, Margie Cox of Fort Smith; two half-sisters, Tiffany Cox of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Camille Cox of Tulsa, Okla.; and one half-brother, Kenny Corbin of Missouri.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Crestview Baptist Church in New Blaine with Rev. Eldon Thomas.

Robert LaFevers
Robert Lewis LaFevers, 78, of Ozark, former Lamar School superintendent, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, in Ozark.
He was a retired school superintendent having worked in public schools for 35 years prior to retiring in 1992. He began teaching and coaching at Cotton Plant in 1959, was employed in the Ozark School system from 1967-77 and was a member of the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association, the Franklin County Retired Teachers Association, and A.A.E.A.
A native of Paragould, he was a son of the late Lewis Franklin and Susan Norine Castleberry LaFevers, U. S. Army veteran, member of First United Methodist Church of Ozark, and was preceded in death by one brother, William Lee LaFevers.
Survivors include his wife, Sue LaFevers; two daughters, Suzanne LaFevers of Ozark and Robyn Neumeier and husband, Tim, of Fayetteville; one sister, Lourine Campbell of Ozark; aunt, Dessie Parvin of Ozark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the First United Methodist Church in Ozark with Rev. Keith Dodson officiating.
Burial was in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Sofia Nichole and Hannah Marie Vera, infant twin daughters of Jose Luis Vera of Conway and Augusta Lynn Chandler of Solgohachia, and granddaughters of the late Jose Vera, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008.
Other survivors include maternal grandparents, Jackie and Carolyn Chandler of Solgohachia; maternal great-grandparents Troy and Mary Chandler of Morrilton and Lonnie and Mary Mason of Solgohachia; and paternal grandparent, Rufina Vargas of Mexico.

Vida Robinson, 93, whose son, Shelby Robinson and wife, Teressa, reside in Lamar, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008.
She was a daughter of the late J. R. and Kathryn Wade Whitfield, widow of Opal Robinson, member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one daughter; two granddaughters; and one grandson.
She is survived by two other sons, Bobby Robinson and wife, Pat, of Hartford and Stanley Robinson and wife, Johnice, of Farmersville; five daughters, Juanita Jeffers and husband, Bobby, of Cottonport, La., Verna Mae Westcott and Imogene Westcott and husband, Waymon, all of Tulsa, Okla., Louise Terry of Dinuba, Calif., and Faye Parker and husband, Ronald, of Hurst, Texas; one sister, Virginia Taylor of Dardanelle; 17 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

W. J. Rimmer, 84, of Van Buren died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at his home.
He was a retired county Extension agent having served in Johnson, Scott, Logan and Crawford counties, U. S. Army veteran of World War II, graduate of the University of Arkansas with bachelor's and master's degrees in agriculture, active member of Crawford County Farm Bureau, Van Buren Rotary Club and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, member of First Baptist Church of Van Buren, where he served as a deacon, and was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Ruth Rimmer.
Survivors include two daughters, Lynnette Gore and husband, Allan, of Bartlesville, Okla., and Jeanie Perkins and husband, Bob, of Van Buren; one son, James Rimmer and wife, Jeanne, of Naperville, Ill.; three sisters, Franz Horton of North Little Rock, Janice Cooley of Houma, La., and Irene Fielder of Broomfield, Colo.; 12 grandchildren, Kristen Paulsmeyer, Rebekah Roberts, Melinda, David, Hannah, and Sarah Gore, Whitney, Wade and Rachel Perkins, and Bryan, Lauren and Caleb Rimmer; and one great-grandchild, Regan Paulsmeyer.

Bob Hillsamer, 45, of Clarksville died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at his home.
He was a native of Marion, Ind., attended Lamar High School, mechanic, and son of the late Charles David Hillsamer.
He is survived by two daughters, Sarah Bittle and husband, Charles, of Hartman and Kayla Streithorst of Clarksville; two sons, Robert Paul (Robbie) Hillsamer II of Ivy, Ga., and Brandon Hillsamer of Fairmont, Ind.; mother, Margaret Joan Method Hillsamer of Clarksville; two sisters, Nancy Otten of Moline, Ill., and Catherine Riddell of Clarksville; one brother, Jeff Hillsamer of Andrews, Ind.; grandmother, Leona Atkinson of Marion, Ind.; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The body was cremated.
