Johnson
Beatrice Johnson, 90,
of Lamar died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Countryside Manor Nursing
Home.
She was a native of the Hickeytown
Community, daughter of the late Ben Monrow and Anna Stewart Hickey,
widow of John Johnson, graduate of Lamar High School, member of
Clarksville First United Methodist Church, and former member of the
Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by one brother, Alan
Franklin Hickey of Valley Springs, Calif.; and several nieces and
nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, June
14, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hanshaw
officiating. Burial was in the Hickeytown Cemetery.
Carol Varnell
Carol Dannette Varnell, 32, of Fort
Smith, stepsister of Richard and Justin Carpenter of Clarksville, died
Saturday, June 7, 2008, in Fort Smith.
Survivors include her companion,
Roberto Aguilera; two children, Andraea and Adrian Aguilera, both of
the home; mother, Debbie Walker and husband, Joe, of Paris; father,
Danny Varnell and wife, Kay, of Midway; three sisters, Kristy Sutphin
of Charleston, Kendra Walker of Paris and Sydney Varnell of Midway;
four other stepbrothers, Harley Carpenter Jr. of Pine Bluff, Virgil
Varnell of Midway and Dylan and Stacy Walker of Paris.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, June
13, at Crestview Baptist Church in Midway with Rev. Eldon Thomas
officiating.
Burial was at St. Louis Valley under
the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home of Paris.
Emma Lee Martin
Emma Lee Wheeler Martin, 69, of
Reeds Spring, Mo., sister of Dwain Reynolds of Lamar, died Tuesday,
June 10, 2008, at the Skaggs Community Health Center in Branson, Mo.
She was a daughter of the late Otis
Lee and Emma Clayborn Wheeler, former resident of Russellville, United
States Marine Corps veteran, former employee of the United States
Postal Service in Indianapolis, Ind., civilian employee of the Postal
Service in Germany during Desert Storm and had been a deconner in the
nuclear industry and an employee of Baxter Laboratory in Mountain Home.
She attended cosmetology school and culinary school in Sikeston, Mo.,
and had trained to become a lab technician at the University of the
Ozarks in Clarksville. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren,
Samuel Jason Martin Jr. and Jordan Elizabeth Sanders; and two
brothers, Jimmy Gadis and Larry Joe Gadis.
She is survived by two sons, Charles
Stephen Martin of Atkins and Samuel Jason Martin of Lead Hill; four
daughters, Karen Janine Kibler of Homosassa, Fla., Rebecca Elizabeth
Sanders of Reeds Spring, Mo., and Shana Michelle Martin Force and Shara
Rachelle Martin, both of St. Joseph, Mo.; one other brother, Johnny
Dale Gadis of Missouri; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, June
13, at Shinn Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville with Rev. David
Zeiler officiating. Burial with military honors was at Lamar Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Anthony Boydston,
Robin Kibler, Darren Sanders and Darin Reynolds.

M. Curtis Bohannon
Marion Curtis Bohannon, 94, of
Harrison, died Friday, June 13, 2008, at North Arkansas Regional
Medical Center in Harrison.
A native of Clarksville, he was a
son of the late James William and Maude Ophelia Looper Bohannon, member
of Grace Christian Church in Harrison, where he was head usher,
retired coal miner and carpenter, hospital volunteer, and had been a
missionary in China, Russia and Philippines.
Survivors are his wife, Tina
Bohannon; one daughter, Patricia Williams of Evansville, Ind.; one son,
Curtis Bohannon Jr. of Calimesa, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Howard of
Clarksville and Maggie Killingsworth of Concord, Calif.; nine
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June
10, at Grace Christian Church in Harrison with Pastor Tim Phillips
officiating.
Burial was at 3 p.m. at Oakland
Cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Will Aldrige, Bob
Castello, Nathan Cline, Paul Hutchinson, John King, and Ben McEntire.
Mary M. Carter
Mary Margaret Rinke Anderson Carter,
72, of Kansas City, Mo., died June 7, 2008, at North Kansas City
Hospital.
She was a native of Hartman.
Rosary was at 11 a.m. Saturday, June
14, at White Chapel Funeral Home in Gladstone, Mo.
Michael L. Hendricks
Michael Lee Hendricks, 51, of
Clarksville died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at his home.
He was a native of Los
Angeles, Calif., graduate of Pasadena (California) High School and an
employee of Tyson Foods.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce
Short Hendricks; one daughter, Shannon Hendricks of California; mother,
Patricia Thomas of Collinsville, Okla.; one sister, Michelle Ann Jewett
of Collinsville, Okla.; one grandchild, Daniel Hendricks of
Collinsville, Okla.; two nephews, Jerry Jewett and wife, Stacey, and
Donald Cox, all of Collinsville, Okla.; and two great-nieces, Keirstin
Jewett and Carlee Michelle Cox , both of Collinsville, Okla.
A memorial service was held at 2
p.m. Monday, June 16, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry
Cameron officiating.
The body was cremated.
Mildred Faye Turner
Mildred Faye Turner, 69, of
Clarksville died June 14, 2008, at her home.
She was born at Low Gap, daughter of
the late Virgil (Jack) and Lillian E. (Bump) Melson, retired
bookkeeper, and was preceded in death by three brothers, Elzie W.
Melson, Rev. C. W. Melson, and Virgil D. Melson; and one grandchild,
Christian Turner.
Survivors include her husband,
Buddie Wayne Turner; one daughter, Donna Diane Turner of Russellville;
two sons, Wade Dejuan Turner and wife, Donna, and Darren Wayne Turner,
all of Clarksville; one sister, Mattie Mozelle Atkins of Ozone; two
brothers, Eugene Melson of Ozone and Doyle Melson of Clarksville; seven
grandchildren, Jade E. Turner, Audria Curtis, Adrienne Turner, Kenton
Turner, Freddie Wayne Turner, Trent Owens, and Joshua Owens; and two
great-grandchildren, Skyleigh Curtis and Trenton Owen.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday,
June 18, at the Ozone Baptist Church with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating.
Burial will be in the Mount Airy
Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Nancy Gray
Nancy Joan McCarrell Gray, 60, of
Fort Smith, sister of Billy Butler of Knoxville, died Monday, June 9,
2008, in Fort Smith.
She was a retired office manager,
former employee of Edwards Funeral Home, member of St. Boniface
Catholic Church, daughter of the late Sylvester and Edith Bolden
Butler, and was preceded in death by her first husband, Durand
McCarrell; and one son, Randal McCarrell.
Survivors include her husband, Ervin
(Bully) Gray; one daughter, Dara McCarrell Hopson of Fort Smith; one
other brother, Tony Butler of Plymouth, Mass.; one granddaughter,
Mylynn Hopson; and mother-in-law, Bessie Gray of Dardanelle.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, June
13, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial in Oakland
Cemetery at Russellville.

Robert Carrier
Robert Carrier, 70, of Mulberry,
father of Betty June Adams of Coal Hill, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008.
He was a native of Mulberry, son of
the late Roy Carrier, Pentecostal, retired truck driver, and was
preceded in death by his stepfather, Kennel Henry; two brothers, Olen
(Dock) Henry and Eugene (Shug) Henry; and one sister, Gladys Henry
Smith.
Other survivors include one son,
Michael Carrier of Mulberry; mother, Minia Dutton Henry of Mulberry;
two sisters, Delpha Rosson of Mulberry and Margaret Edwards of Van
Buren; two brothers, Darrell Henry and Bobby Allen of Mulberry; eight
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday, June
7, at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma with burial at Pope Cemetery in
Mulberry.
