Christine Everingham
Christine A. Everingham, 90, of
Augusta, Ga., formerly of Clarksville, died Jan. 7, 2007, in Augusta,
Ga.
Born Aug. 6, 1917, she was a school
cafeteria manager and was employed in the Ventura County (California)
School System prior to retirement. She formed a profound bond with the
students in her school, even learning sign language to better
communicate with them. Following retirement, she was a "volunteer
grandmother" in the Clarksville (Arkansas) School System, a
Presbyterian, and was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin L.
Everingham Sr. in 1996, and was preceded in death by one
daughter,
LeRene Tillman; and one great-grandson, Derrick Freeman.
Survivors include two sons, Roy
Everingham and wife, Sandra, of Evans, Ga., and David Everingham of
Rincon, Ga.; six grandchildren, Stacy Gooden, Todd Tillman,
Kimberly
Simmons, David Everingham, Christy Suits, and Paul Everingham; and nine
great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated.
A memorial service will be held at
10 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, at West Mt. Zion Cemetery near Hartman under
the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Dorothy Burton
Dorothy Mae Burton, 78, of Knoxville
died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at the home of a daughter in Winslow.
She was a native of Ontario, Calif.,
daughter of the late Doyle and Velma Caulwell Alderson, widow of Joe V.
Burton, received a degree in home economics from Arkansas Tech
University in Russellville, retired employee of Singer Company in
Clarksville; member of the Knoxville City Council and Clarksville
Garden Club, active member of Knoxville First Baptist Church
where she
sang in the choir, taught a Sunday school class, and assisted with
various church activities, and was preceded in death by one brother,
Wilburn Alderson.
Survivors include two daughters,
Sherry Hudson and husband, Ronnie, of Charlotte, N. C., and Donna Reed
and husband, Gary, of Winslow; five grandchildren, Larissa Reed of Van
Buren, Renner Reed of Little Rock, Joy Osuch and husband, Steve, of
Knoxville, Ronnie Hudson and wife, Leigh, of Uniontown, Pa., and Mary
Hudson of Charlotte, N. C.; two great-grandsons, Cody Osuch of
Knoxville and Lucas Hudson of Uniontown, Pa.; and two cousins, Bruce
Miller of Alma and Lloyd Miller of Fayetteville.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, May
17, at the Knoxville First Baptist Church with Rev. Don Roy Hankins,
Rev. Ira Taylor, Rev. Richard Snyder, Rev. Ron Hudson and Rev. Ronnie
Hudson officiating.
Burial was in Knoxville Cemetery
under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.

Evelyn Sue Elser
Evelyn Sue Elser, 62, of Altus died
Saturday, May 17, 2008, at UAMS in Little Rock.
She was a native of Altus, daughter
of the late Dewey Mitchell and Evelyn O'Neal Faubus, and widow of
Herman Joseph Elser.
She is survived by one daughter,
Mary Holsapple of Fayetteville; two sons, Mark Elser of Altus and
Mitchell Elser of Clarksville; three sisters, Carolyn Hall of
Independence, Mo., Linda Bean of Henryetta, Okla., and Delores Collins
of Van Buren; four brothers, Larry Post of Independence, Mo., William
Post of Europe, Mo., and Roger Drinkard and Donald Drinkard, both of
Jefferson City, Mo.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m.
Wednesday, May 21, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altus with Father
Hillary Filiatreau officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's
Cemetery at Altus under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Isaac B. Mobley
Isaac B. Mobley, 94, of Fort Smith
died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at his home.
He was a native of Johnson County,
son of the late William and Lillie Mobley, retired carpenter, member of
West-Ark Church of Christ and former elder of Midland Boulevard Church
of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 73
years, Virginia Mobley; one daughter, June Stephens and husband,
Jerry, of Keller, Texas; two sons, Dale Mobley and wife, Judy, of
Siloam Springs and Don Mobley and wife, Claudia, of Springdale;
one
sister, Ada Goines of Tennessee; five grandchildren, Brian Mobley, Stan
Stephens, Greg Mobley, Kevin Mobley, and Clair Lee; nine
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Wednesday,
May 14, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with graveside services
and burial at the Minnow Creek Cemetery with Roy Dunavin officiating.
Pallbearers were Bill Moss, Jay
Wood, Ben Pearson, Eddie Harrell, Charley Douglas and Joe Marchant.

Josephine M. Werner
Josephine M. Werner, 87, of
Clarksville died Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Johnson Regional Medical
Center.
She was a daughter of the late
Bernadine (Mertens) and John H. Werner Sr., attended Holy Redeemer
Parochial School in Clarksville and graduated from Scholastica
Monastery in Fort Smith, and was retired from Phillips Petroleum
Company having worked in the Bartlesville, Okla., and Atlanta, Ga.,
offices. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Coor and
Mildred Huhner; four brothers, Bill Werner, John Werner Jr., Louis
Werner, and Francis Werner; and one niece, Mary Ann Basham.
She is survived by one sister, Mary
Werner Lorfing of Clarksville; one brother, Bernard Werner of
Clarksville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary service will be held at 10
a.m.Saturday, May 24, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church followed by a
memorial mass with Father William Wewers, O. S. B., officiating. The
body was cremated. Interment will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Isaac B. Mobley, 94, of Fort Smith
died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at his home.
He was a native of Johnson County,

Siobhan Traylor
Siobhan G. Traylor, 47, of West
Helena, daughter of Carlus and Julia Mealey Traylor of Clarksville,
died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, in Memphis, Tenn.
She was born in Gloucester, England,
and was a teacher at Miller Junior High School in West Helena.
Other survivors include one brother,
Kevin Traylor of Coldwater, Miss.; grandmother, Elizabeth Mealey of
Kilkenny, Ireland; nephew, Aaron Ryan Traylor of West Helena; niece,
Krystyn Traylor of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; five aunts; and seven uncles
including Clyde Traylor of Clarksville.
A memorial service was held at 2
p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Church of the Nazarene in West Helena
with Rev. Dewight Traylor and Rev. Albert Ward officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home
of West Helena.
Dewal Davis
Dewal Davis, 81, of Hattieville died
Thursday, May 15, 2008.
He was born at Catalpa, son of James
Davis and Ora Stepp Davis, World War II Army veteran and retired
refrigeration service technician.
Survivors are two daughters, Dayna
Davis Garvin and husband, Mike, of California and Lisa Davis Hofherr
and husband, Buddy, of Hattieville; six grandchildren, Alexis
Davis-Allen, Anton D. Hofherr, Sean M. Garvin, Kayla H. Wiley, Charlie
Hofherr and Lauren Hofherr; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua Coats
and Landon Wiley.
A memorial service will be held at a
later date.

Gordon Argie Taylor
Gordon Argie Taylor, 87, of
Clarksville died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Johnson Regional Medical
Center.
He was a native of Clarksville, son
of the late Forbin G. and Edna Matthews Taylor, farmer and factory
employee, member of Mount Vernon Church of Christ, and was preceded in
death by one brother, Bobby Jack Taylor.
Survivors include his wife, Velma
Storms Taylor; one son, Randall G. Taylor of Clarksville and Fort
Smith; and one brother, Garland M. Taylor of Clarksville.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m.
Wednesday, May 21, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Farrar
officiating. Burial will be in Mount Airy Cemetery.

Kathy Rich
Kathy Rich, 64, of Alma, daughter of
Katherine Garrett of Clarksville, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008.
She was a native of Florence, Ariz.,
1964 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in
accounting, passed the certified public accountant exam and the
Oklahoma CPA exam in 1970, along with the Arkansas reciprocal CPA in
1972, self-employed public accountant, and widow of Henry Rich Jr.
Other survivors include one
daughter, Katy Weatherford of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; one son, Mike McGee
of Tomball, Texas; one brother, Gary Garrett of Fort Smith; and four
grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were
at 2 p.m. Monday, May 19, at Newberry Cemetery in Alma under the
direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.

Doris E. Duncan
Doris E. Duncan, 70, died Thursday,
May 15, 2008, at Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney, Kan.
She was a native of Tribune, Kan.,
daughter of the late Floyd Walter and Mabel Madge Vaughn Wigton,
graduate of Sharon Springs (Kansas) High School, and was preceded in
death by one son, Kelly Duncan; two brothers, Glenn and Stanley Wigton;
and one sister, Olive Dechant.
Survivors include her husband,
Eugene Duncan of Hartman; one son, Keith Duncan and wife, Sherry, of
Coal Hill; one daughter, Cheryl Hamilton-Bollig and husband, Fritz, of
WaKeeney, Kan.; one brother, Bud Wigton and wife, Dorothy, of Penrose,
Colo.; three sisters, Verla Parr of Inman, Kan., Marsha Johnson of
Sharon Springs, Kan., and Marilyn Anderson and husband, Don, of Grand
Junction, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Helen L. Collier
Helen L. Collier, 84, of Clarksville
died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, in Clarksville.
She was a native of Crescent, Okla.,
daughter of the late Matthew and Rosemond Herron McGuire, widow of
James (Sonny) Collier, and a member of the Hartman Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters,
Karen Kamp and husband, Richard, of Clarksville and Kathy Willoughby
and husband, Garry, of Ozark; one stepson, James Scott Collier of
Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Beulah Walker of Crescent, Okla.; two
brothers, Jim McGuire of Crescent, Okla., and Bill McGuire of North
Shields, England; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were
at 10 a.m. Friday, May 16, at West Mount Zion Cemetery with Rev. David
Hanshaw officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke

Lindsey E. Walker
Lindsey Elizibeth Lee Walker, three-
month- old daughter of Lewis Mitchell and Elizibeth Renee Walker of
Clarksville, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at her home.

Lane Matthew Walker of Clarksville; grandparents, Louana and Bill
Christy of Eufaula, Okla., and Steve and Angela Hargrove of Atkins;
great-grandmother, Janetta Walker of Eufaula, Okla.; great-grandfather,

Charles Linder Holman
Charles Linder (Lyn) Holman, 58, of
Clarksville died Monday, May 5, 2008.
He was a native of Sewickley, Pa.,
son of the late Charles Holman, graduate of the University of the
Ozarks with a major in history, and recipient of a certificate as a
registered nurse and paralegal.
Survivors include his mother, Mary
Holman of Clarksville; one brother, Lee Holman of Lithonia, Ga.; and
one sister, Donna Campbell of Clarksville.
The body was cremated.
