Anna Mae Skiles, 74, of Clarksville died Monday, March 24, 2008, at her home.

She was a native of the Lone Pine Community, daughter of the late Marvin and Realon Houston Bean, graduate of Clarksville High School, retired Tyson employee, attended Stillwell Bible Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Vikki Skiles.

She is survived by three daughters, Pamela Main and husband, Bruce, of Palmdale, Calif., Donna Ford of Clarksville, and Melanie Skiles of Sacramento, Calif.; two sons, Mark Skiles of Los Angeles, Calif., and Alan Skiles and wife, Cheryl, of Clarksville; three sisters, Wanda Mooney of Clarksville, Joy Stevens of Van Buren, and Nancy Welborne of Paron; four brothers, Lavon Bean and William Bean, both of Clarksville, Jim Bean of Benton, and Cecil Bean of Knoxville; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Lone Pine Cemetery.

James C. Cowell, 69, of London died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at his home.

He was a native of Johnson County, son of the late Milton and Ruby L. Parker Cowell, commercial fisherman for many years, attended the Flat Rock Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by his wife, Norma J. Cowell; and one brother, Jerry D. Cowell.

Survivors include six children, Ramona J. Chavers and husband, Charles, and Glenda K. Chavers and husband, Darrel, all of Mangum, Okla., James S. Cowell and wife, Tina, of Ozone, Katherine L. Bernholtz and husband, Jim, of Pennsylvania, Danny J. Cowell of Ozark and Anthony W. Cowell and wife, Carla, of the Flat Rock Community; one sister, Brenda Caudle and husband, Jimmy, of Kansas City, Kan.; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, at the Flat Rock Assembly of God Church with Rev.  Thomas Chenowith officiating.

Burial was in Brock Cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.

Active pallbearers were Rick Parker, Edmond Parker, Brian Clinton, Harold Sowell, Steve Bocksnick, and Alfred Waldo.

Honorary pallbearers were James Shepard, James Lipps, Kyn Wilson, Keith Frost and Willis Ledford.

Jewel Wells, 71, of Lubbock, Texas, sister of James Hobbs of Hartman and Nina Woodard of Clarksville, died Friday, March 21, 2008.

She was a native of Pottsville, daughter of the late J. P. Hobbs, 1954 graduate of Idalou (Texas) High School, attended Texas Tech University two years, widow of Bennett Carr Wells Jr., and former employee of Retail Merchants, Monterey High School and the S.B.A.

Survivors include two sons; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; mother, Dora Hobbs; two other brothers, David Hobbs of Huntsville, Ala., and Dale Hobbs of Lubbock, Texas; and one other sister, Delores Cochran of Lubbock, Texas.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, March 24, at Sanders Memorial Chapel followed by burial at the Idalou Cemetery in Idalou, Texas.

Lena Elizabeth (Belle) Bequette, 95, of Farmington, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale.

A native of Avoca, she was a daughter of the late William Lewis (W. L.) and Mary Elizabeth (Bettie) Grimes Brown, widow of Hal Bequette, a retired school teacher having taught 37 years including schools at Farmington, Fayetteville and Springdale, and was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Brown.

She is survived by two sons, W. H. (Bill) Bequette and wife, Ayleen, of Farmington and Gerald (Gerry) Bequette and wife, Joyce, of Clarksville; six grandchildren, Wayne Bequette and wife, Pat Fahy, of Albany, N. Y. , Brian Bequette and wife, Barbara, of Nashville, Tenn., Kym Smith of West Fork, Pam Walsh and husband, Gerald (G. W.), of Rogers, Jill Faires and husband, Doug, of Paris, Texas, and Chantelle Taylor and husband, Jeff, of Little Rock; ten great-grandchildren, Brendan and Eileen Bequette, Caroline Elizabeth Bequette, Michelle, Matthew and Krista Smith, Sydney Walsh, Audrey and Riede Faires, and Kyle Taylor; and four great-great-grandchildren, Madison Bentley, Bryson Smith, Sara Smith, and Dallas Smith.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville with private burial in Farmington Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 28, at Moore's Chapel, 206 West Center Street, Fayetteville.

Treeca Mae Bartalone, 82, of Rogers died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at her home.

She was a daughter of the late Mary Tio and Harry James Yerington, native of Benton Harbor, Mich., past member of First Baptist Church in Clarksville, and was preceded in death by eight siblings.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Bartalone; one son, Joseph Anthony Bartalone of Jackson, Calif.; three daughters, Pam Mary Clark Randall of Bentonville, Rose Marie Cooper and husband, Jason, of Clarksville, and Mary Lee Haynes and husband, Robert, of Rogers; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Fellowship Bible of Northwest Arkansas in "The Lodge." A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville.

Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Epting Funeral Home in Bentonville.

Memorials may be made to Washington Regional Hospice or the Children's Advocacy Center.

Ocena Sutliff, 90, of Paris, sister of Odys Hardcastle of Clarksville, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008, in Paris.

She was a native of Ozark, daughter of the late Jim and Hattie Nichols Hardcastle and widow of Johnnie Robert Sutliff.

Other survivors include two daughters, Johnnie Wofford of Lorena, Texas, and Patsy Britt of Edenton, N. C.; one son, Robert Sutliff of Paris; one sister, Mary Opper of Greenville, Texas; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, March 14, at Roller Chapel in Paris with burial in Jackson Cemetery near Ozark.

Active pallbearers were Gary Becker, Tom Davis, Patrick Schluterman,  Dan Knake, Paul Bennett, and Joey Wayne Case.

Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gladys Wirth, 92, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Pioneer Nursing Home in Vale, Ore.

She was a daughter of the late Edmund and Maude Self of the Stillwell Community, widow of George Wirth and was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.

Survivors are her children, Frances (Tom) Murphy of Ontario, Ore., Emil (Katsue) Wirth of Vale, Ore., Nada (Keith) Rose of Reedsport, Ore., Marcia Wirth (Rick Simmons) of Brogan, Ore., and Maxine (Joe) Lawrence of Ironside, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Vic (Alice) Wirth of Ontario, Ore., and several local nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at Valley View Cemetery in Vale, Ore., under the direction of Haren-Wood Chapel in Ontario, Ore.

Memorials may be made to the Brogan Volunteer Fire and Rescue Unit, the Vale Food Bank, Heart 'n Home Hospice, or a charity of the donor's choice.
