Robert Coleman Wise
Robert Coleman Wise, of Clarksville,
Arkansas, was born August 14, 1938, at home in Peak's Mill, near
Frankfort, Kentucky. He died January 18, 2008, in Little Rock,
Arkansas, after a lengthy battle with leukemia. Growing up in rural
Kentucky, he graduated midterm 1957 from Peak's Mill High School and
immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force.
Soon after enlistment, he served
with the Air Force Drill Team in Washington, D.C., escorting Senator
and Mrs. Estes Kefauver at the Inauguration festivities for President
Dwight D. Eisenhower, as well as honoring fallen heroes in funerals at
Arlington National Cemetery. He later cross-trained into Aircraft Fuel
Systems and Mechanics, serving in Ohio, Florida, Alaska, Oklahoma and
Arkansas. His overseas assignments included Greenland, Nova Scotia,
and, during the Vietnam era, Thailand, the Philippine Islands, and
Japan. He earned the Air Force Commendation medal and Oak Leaf
Clusters. He retired as a Master Sergeant in 1977, serving 21 years, 6
mo, and 21 days.
He "retired" to Johnson County,
Arkansas, raising registered Beefmaster cattle at Ludwig, chickens at
Harmony, repeatedly earning Top Producer honors for his efforts. He
owned Good Guys Auto Parts, was parts and station manager for Lazy
Earl's Truck Plaza, and owned & operated Film Transit/Beaver
Express delivery, serving Conway, Pope, Yell, Johnson and Franklin
counties. His favorite retirement occupation was driving the school bus
in town and rural areas, often covering 72 miles a day on his routes.
He greatly enjoyed kick-starting the day with his school kids, his
friends, and fellow school bus drivers, often stating "if there was no
rumor going, we could start one." He drove a school bus on various
routes for 28 years for the Clarksville School District, retiring
several times to farm, but finally, reluctantly and permanently,
retiring in May 2007.
He was preceded in death by his
mother and father, Josie and Harry James Wise; sister, Anna Mae Martin;
grandparents, Lucy and Neal Taylor and Lizzie and Graham Wise, all of
Peak's Mill, Kentucky; and infant son, Francis James Wise.
He is survived by his wife of 42
years, Franlee Jo Hamilton Wise, of Clarksville; his children, Robert
Graham Wise, Sr. and wife, Nicki, of Statesville, North Carolina; Robin
Lee Milligan and husband, Patrick, of Mountain Home, Idaho; and David
Neal Wise and wife, Catherine, of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia;
grandchildren, Ashly Druew and Robert Graham (Gray) Wise, Jr. of
Salisbury, North Carolina; and Allison Aron and Ida Lee Lewallen, of
Mountain Home, Idaho; father-in-law, Francis Hamilton of Clarksville;
brothers-in-law, Bill Martin, of Frankfort, Kentucky, and David
Hamilton of Sale Creek, Tennessee; nephew, Steven Martin, and nieces,
Becky Gill and Lois Roberts of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Jamie Hamilton
and husband, Will Perry, of Sale Creek, Tennessee.
Pallbearers will be Dusty Talley,
Jon Talley, Scott Talley, Doug Hunter, Danny Nichols, Ronnie Zachary,
Mike Hanshew, and Don Garrett. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bus
Drivers for Clarksville Schools.
Bob Wise will be most remembered for
his strong, independent, hard-working spirit, and unabashed honesty. He
leaves a legacy of family and friends, tied together by more than DNA.
He also leaves four generations of Johnson County children, whom he
safely and caringly transported to adulthood.
The Memorial Service will be held
Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at 10 am at Grace Lutheran Church, 406
Brown Street in Clarksville, Arkansas. Visitation will be Tuesday
evening, January 22, 2008, 6-8 pm at Hardwicke Funeral Home in
Clarksville, Arkansas. Interment with full military honors at Harmony
Cemetery on Lone Pine Road, Clarksville, Arkansas.

Ramona Lucille Worley
Ramona Lucille Worley died suddenly
in her home January 18, 2008. Known affectionately as Ray by her family
and close friends, she was born on March 20, 1926, to Martha Mabel
Holman Daniel and Jess D. Daniel in Lamar, Arkansas. When she was a
young girl, the family moved to the area around Sikeston, Missouri, and
she grew up there. There she met Manlief Clyde Worley and they were
married October 14, 1953. She had two daughters, Katherine Worley
Crockett who lives in Hallsville, Missouri, and Debra Worley Mitchell
from Columbia. Also surviving is one sister, Nadine Turner.
She retired from the Wal-Mart
Corporation after having worked at a Columbia store for more than 20
years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and many other hand
arts. She will be remembered as a supportive and devoted mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother.
A visitation will be held on
Tuesday, January 22, from 5-7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with a
memorial service at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on
Saturday, January 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the Holman Church in Lamar,
Arkansas, with burial following in Holman Cemetery. A visitation will
also be held on Friday, January 25, from 5-7 p.m. at Roller-Cox Funeral
Home in Clarksville, Arkansas. Memorial contributions may be made in
Ramona's name to the Holman Cemetery Association. Local arrangements
are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.

Brenda Stumbaugh
Brenda Sue Stumbaugh, 56, of
Clarksville died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at St. Mary's Regional
Medical Center in Russellville.
She was preceded in death by her
father, Amos Owen Stumbaugh and was a member of Clarksville First
Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her mother, Maxie
Clark Stumbaugh of Clarksville; one sister, Wanda, and husband, Carl
Williams of Clarksville; one niece, Sharla, and husband, Eden Norris
III of Clarksville; one great-nephew, Trey Carl Norris of Clarksville;
uncle, J. T. and wife, Marvalene Clark of Chouteau, Okla.; and several
cousins.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan.
22, at the Clarksville First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Terry
Cameron officiating.
Burial was in Oakland Cemetery under
the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Cathy Ann Linton
Cathy Ann Linton, 50, of Fort Smith,
died Jan. 15, 2008, at Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith.
She was a native of Houston, Fla.
Survivors include one son, Dakota
Linton of Oklahoma; parents, Hadley and Charlotte Bozzell of Big Stone
Gap, Va.; one brother, Gene Linton of Clarksville; two half-brothers,
Mike Daniels and Michel Litton of Big Stone Gap, Va.; two half-sisters,
Crystal Rollins of Big Stone Gap, Va., and Lorie Delph of Little Rock;
stepmother, Mary Key of Clarksville; and seven nieces and five nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan.
19, 2008, at Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger. Burial
was in the Hess Cemetery at Coal Hill.

Clarence Bauman
Clarence Frederick Bauman, 82, of
Clarksville died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at his home.
He was a Baptist, Army veteran, NRA
Millennium Honor Roll Member and retired Arkansas State Highway
Department employee for over 30 years, and was preceded in death by his
parents, Frederick and Maggie Prokish Bauman, brother, Dale Bauman; and
half-brother, Wilford Prokish.
He is survived by his wife, Betty
Dobbs Bauman; two daughters, Brenda Morehead of Atoka, Tenn., and
Sandra Watson of Clarksville; one son, Larry Bauman of Clarksville; one
sister, Norma Jacobson of Rapid City, S. D.; two brothers, Lawrence
Bauman of Lodi, Calif., and Donny Bauman of Milwaukee, Ore.; four
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan.
22, 2008, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating.
Burial was in Woodland Cemetery.

Doris Jean Cables
Doris Jean Cables, 52, of
Goldthwaite, Texas, formerly of Lamar died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, in
Goldthwaite.
She was born Jan. 6, 1956, in
Clarksville, was a Baptist, graduate of Lamar High School and member of
the American Legion Bunch-Walton Post 22 Auxiliary, and was preceded in
death by her father, Henderson Chavers, and daughter, Cathy Kuykendall.
Survivors are her husband, Warren;
one son, Tye Cables of Goldthwaite, Texas; parents, Ida Marie and Paul
Morrison of Knoxville; and two brothers, Charles Chavers and Darrell
Chavers, both of Mangun, Okla.
Graveside service and burial were
Monday, Jan. 21, in the Knoxville Cemetery, under the direction of
Hardwicke Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Cording officiating.
Robert D. Nichols Jr.
Robert Don Nichols Jr., 35, of
Ozark, son of Sherry Bowman of Clarksville, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008,
in Ozark.
A native of Ozark, he was a 1990
honor graduate of Ozark High School and a recipient of a Merit
Scholarship. He attended Southwest Missouri State College and was an
employee of American Airlines.
He was preceded in death by his
grandparents, Charley and Dennie Nichols, and his grandfather, Alfred
Bowman.
Other survivors include his father
and stepmother, Robert Don Sr. and Hazel Nichols of Ozark; and his
grandmother, Lilly Mae Bowman of Ozark.
Memorial services were at 2 p.m.

Robert V. Ricketts
Robert V. Ricketts, 58, of Fort
Smith died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, in Fort Smith.
A native of Clarksville, he was
accountant for Day and Associates, member of Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 39
years, Virginia Rinke Ricketts; two daughters, Melissa Ricketts of
Rogers and Kristen Ricketts of Fort Smith; one son, Brandon Ricketts of
Little Rock; five sisters, Normie Boen of Kansas City, Mo., Alice
Treadway of Cabot, Jeannie Smith of Lamar, Barbara Freeling of North
Little Rock and Georgie Hale of Bald Knob.
Funeral was Monday, Jan. 21, at
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Smith. Burial was at Holy
Cross Cemetery.

Steven Ray Willis, 48, of Lamar died
Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at University of Arkansas Medical Center in
Little Rock.
He was a native of Clarksville,
graduate of Clarksville High School, member of Lamar Planning &
Zoning Committee and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Burl
and Marvelene Childers and Odie and Ollie Willis.
Survivors include one son, Zack
Willis of Clarksville; parents, Ray and Wanda Willis of Lamar; uncle
and aunt, James and Doris Childers of Hartman; and cousins, Rusty,
Kelly and Hailey Hardgrave of Clarksville.
Funeral was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday,
Jan. 22, at First Baptist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Darrell
Bridges and John Ballard officiating.

Marjorie Jean Scarborough
Marjorie Jean Mann Scarborough, 89, of Clarksville died Saturday, Jan.
19, 2008, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 18, 1918, in Whitewood, Saskatchewan, Canada, and
was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. James H. and Josephine Gibson
Mann; one son, Timothy; one sister, Anne McKillop; and one brother,
Hewson Gibson Mann.
She was a graduate of Whitewood High School, the University of British
Columbia with a bachelor of science degree and trained as a registered
nurse at Vancouver General Hospital. She was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church, Association of Presbyterian Women, Ladies of the
Nile, NARFE, Panama Canal Zone Medical Wives, InterAmerican Women's
Club and Sallis School PTA.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dr. William R. Scarborough;
son and daughter-in-law, Billy Bob and Kary Hardin Scarborough of Oak
Ridge, Tenn.; son, Rev. Jimmy Scarborough of San Antonio, Texas; two
daughters, Jo Anne Martin of North Little Rock and Maradee Stroupe of
Clarksville; nine grandchildren, Steve and Marianne Scarborough of
Midpoint, Ohio; Ginna and Kevin Bird of Charles Town, WVa.; Michelle
and Scott Shellabarger of North Little Rock; Margaret and Joe Silva of
Chicago, Ill.; Bill Stroupe of San Antonio, Texas; Terry and Marie
Scarborough and Cara Lee Scarborough, all of British Columbia, Canada;
Kenneth and Valerie Martin of North Little Rock; and James Scarborough
