Coleman Askins
Coleman Askins, 64, of Ozark died
Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, in Ozark.
He was a retired logger and Baptist.
Survivors are two daughters, Betsy
Richardson of New Blaine and Tammy Dawson of Hunt; five sisters, Ann
Grigsby, Welline Grigsby, Louise Arbaugh, and Sue Stepp, all of
Hartman, and Virginia Hodge of Catalpa; three brothers, Billy Askins of
Ozark and Glenn Askins and Varl Askins, both of Clarksville; and three
grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were
at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Liberty Hill Cemetery at Hunt under the
direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Active pallbearers were Ricky
Grigsby, Butch Grigsby, James Jones, Frankie Jones, Dustin Haffelder,
Daniel Haffelder and James Lee Jones.
Honorary pallbearers were Jason
Richardson, Bill Askins, Varl Askins, and Glen Askins.
Donnie W. Johnson
Donnie W. Johnson, 47, of Washington
died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
He was the wrecker driver for 67
Speedway, a self-employed mechanic and welder, and was preceded in
death by his father, Chuck Johnson.
Survivors include five sons, Jason
Johnson of Belding, Mich., Daniel Johnson of Washington, Clayton
Johnson of Clarksville, Nelson Fox of Hope and Chad Fox of Prescott;
three daughters, Christy Johnson of Belding, Mich., Kayla Johnson of
Clarksville and Amanda Fathrree of Tennessee; mother, Judy McCannon and
Russell of Santa Fe, Texas; two brothers, Todd Ramsey and Rodney
Ramsey, both of Baycliff, Texas; two sisters, Kathy Ann Marlow of
Concho, Ariz., and Brenda Matthews of Michigan; three grandchildren;
and special friend, Paula Boyette Fox of Washington.
Graveside services and burial were
at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Holman Cemetery north of Lamar.
Arrangements were under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home
of Hope.
Emma Bowie
Emma Bowie, 88, former resident of
Clarksville, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, in Ozark.
A native of the Wattensaw Community
in Lonoke County, she was a daughter of the late Willie Flynt and Lola
Flynt Deese, widow of Billy Bowie, former resident of Augusta, graduate
of Beebe High School and the University of Central Arkansas at Conway,
retired sixth grade teacher from Augusta Public Schools, member of
First Baptist Church of Augusta, charter member of Cherry Street
Baptist Church in Clarksville, and was preceded in death by her
stepfather, W. H. Deese; three stepbrothers, C. W. Deese, Rev. Wilson
Deese, and Dr. Richard (Pud) Deese; and one stepsister, Oda Roush.
Survivors include one son, Arthur
Bowie of Bentonville; one daughter, Connie Limbird of Knoxville; two
grandchildren, Joseph Bowie and Happy Limbird; three brothers, Alvin
Flynt of Bentonville, Dr. Clayton Flynt of Camden and Dr. William Flynt
of Fayetteville; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A family graveside service and
burial were at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Augusta Memorial Park. A
memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Rhodes
Funeral Home in Augusta with Rev. Ladell Bailey officiating.
A local memorial service will be
held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Cherry Street Baptist Church in
Clarksville with Rev. Rusty Bushong officiating.

Freda L. Chavers
Freda Louise Chavers, 77, of
Springdale, formerly of Clarksville, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at
North West Medical Center Hospital in Springdale.
A native of the Spadra Community,
she was a daughter of the late Homer and Bertha Porter East, member of
the Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by one brother,
Wildon East.
Survivors include her husband, Cyrus
Nelson Chavers; one son, Kenneth Wayne Harkey of Springdale; one
sister, Dorothy Faye Thomas of Springdale; one brother, Billy East of
Coal Hill; two grandchildren, Vicki Phelps of Lowell and Shelia Anthney
of Springdale; and four great-grandchildren, Bethany and Brandon
Anthney and Christopher and Cory Phelps.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept.
10, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bobby Dotson officiating.
Burial was in Knoxville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Thomas Phelps,
Donald Anthney, Bob Nichols, Matt Nichols, Bob Hall and Junior Anglin.
Geneva Humphrey
Geneva Schwarz Humphrey, 78, of
Hancock, Wis., died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at Stevens Point, Wis.
A native of Ozone, she was a
daughter of the late Herman and Annabelle Ross Schwarz, graduate of
Hancock High School, former employee of Sentry Insurance and was
preceded in death by one grandson, Trevor Humphrey.
Survivors include her husband, Royce
R. Humphrey; two sons, Gary (Pat) Humphrey and Gregory Humphrey; one
daughter, Ginger (Darvin) Pfaff; four sisters, Alene (Dale)
Losey,
Lois (Richard) Klein, Lorene (Dale) Allen, and Evelyn (Robert) Beggs;
two brothers, Karl (Marcy) Schwarz and Donald (Theresa) Schwarz; five
grandchildren, Troy (Jennifer) Humphrey, Tricia (Jim) Lietz, and
Katrina, Darrin and Quincy Pfaff; three great-grandchildren,
Curtis
Humphrey and Paige and Hannah Lietz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Hancock Cemetery.
Mildred C. Blair
Mildred Cromer Blair, 80, of Cabot,
died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007.
A native of Lamar, she was a
daughter of the late Jerome and Arnie Owen Cromer, widow of Sanford D.
Blair, graduate of Jacksonville High School, member of First Baptist
Church of Conway, attended First Baptist Church of Cabot, licensed
cosmetologist, real estate agent, and was preceded in death by two
sisters, Zoe Ballinger and Audrey Magdelano.
She is survived by one brother, J.
E. Cromer and wife, Carole, of Norfork; one sister, Lorene Cromer
Shaver of Benton; one niece, Jacquelyn Moore and husband, Jonathan, of
North Little Rock; one nephew, Joseph Cromer and wife, Leanne, of North
Little Rock; two great-nieces, Erica Moore and Charlotte Cromer; and
one great-nephew, Chase Cromer.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept.
3, in Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Bayou Meto Cemetery in
Jacksonville under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home.
Wilma A. Clark
Wilma A. (Sue) Breedlove Clark, 81,
of Lockport, N. Y., died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, in Lockport, N. Y.
A native of Lamar, she was a
daughter of the late Walter V. and Ethel Umphreys Breedlove, widow of
Mervin L. Clark, served in the military and was preceded in death by
one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Joan and Billy Ray Campbell.
She is survived by six
grandchildren, Stacie L. Ruppel and husband, Daniel, Billy Ray Campbell
II, Walter L. Campbell, Johnathon P. Campbell and wife, Krista, Shannon
M. Fosmer and husband, Allen, and Clarence D. Campbell and wife, Karen;
and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were
at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at the Annie's Chapel Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
