Bill Joe Dalton, 55, of Clarksville died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at
St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
He was a native of Clarksville, member of First United Pentecostal
Church of Clarksville, an employee of Tyson Foods for 15-plus years,
and was preceded in death by his father, William (Bill) Dalton; and two
brothers, Vernon and Darrell Dalton.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Hogue Dalton; two daughters, Jackie
Ellison and husband, Troy Don, of Altus and Jessie Long and husband,
Rodney, of Clarksville; and one son, Matthew Dalton of the home;
mother, Ada Dalton of Clarksville; two sisters, Vickie Carter of Coal
Hill and Tracy Moore of Perryville; four brothers, Jimmy Dalton of
Dover, Marty Dalton and George Dalton, both of Clarksville, and Johnny
Dalton of Hagarville; three grandsons, Justin and Dillion Ellison and
Zach Long; and one granddaughter, Payten Long.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at the First United Pentecostal
Church with Rev. Michael Minniear officiating.
Burial was in Spadra Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral
Home.
Active pallbearers were Marty Dalton, Jimmy Dalton, George Dalton,
Johnny Dalton, Larry Hogue, and Justin Ellison.
Lida Taylor Landsdown, 97, of Clarksville died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006,
at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Jackson, Tenn., daughter of the late Joseph Henry
and Mary Minerva Taylor, widow of Gene Malcolm Landsdown, and member of
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Doris Jeanne Santoli of Independence,
Mo., and Jewell Marie Newman of Clarksville; one son, Glenn M.
Landsdown of Huntsville, Ala.; 17 grandchildren; 32
great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Orville Marvel, 97, of Hartman died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, at his home.
He was a native of Hartman, son of the late Albert and Susie Fultz
Marvel, 1930 graduate of Hartman High School, retired coal miner and
farmer, member of the Hartman United Methodist Church and the United
Mine Workers Association, and was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene
Conway Marvel; one son, Billy Orville Marvel; and one grandson, Carl
Dean Chrisman.
Survivors include three daughters, Eva (Babe) Chrisman and husband,
Leo, and Georgiana Patterson and husband, Robert, all of Hartman, and
Carol Yates and husband, Lavon (Jeep), of Coal Hill; one sister, Lorene
Gardner of Sebastopol, Calif.; one brother, Dick Marvel of Coal Hill;
13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren;
and four great-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at the Hartman United Methodist
Church with Rev. Paul Draper and Robert Patterson officiating.
Burial was in Kendall Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral
Home.
Active pallbearers were Bill Chrisman, Kent Yates, Jason Patterson,
Barry Marvel, Kris Chrisman, Adam Chrisman, Caleb Chrisman, Josh
Freeman, and Chad Chrisman.
Rhonda Gail Climer, 49, of Trumann, formerly of Johnson County, died
Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at her home.
A native of Texas, she was a nurse, former student at Arkansas Tech
University in Russellville, and was preceded in death by two sons, Levi
Pitts and Joshua Climer; mother, Betty Lou Reynolds; and two nephews,
Nathan Climer and Jasper Kelley.
Survivors include one daughter, Kimberley Hogue of Lamar; father, Paul
Edward Kelley of Texas; three sisters, Bernice Kelley of Trumann, B. J.
Moore of Michigan, and Stacie Reynolds of Clarksville; eight
grandchildren, Katesha Sielor, Morgan Sielor, Michael Gipson, Christian
Gipson, Dylan Climer, Levi Climer, Seth Milan, and Josh Climer Johnson;
one nephew, Andy Kelley of Trumann; and one niece, Angie Kelley of
Trumann.
Zelmadene Basham Parker, 76, of De Valls Bluff died Saturday, Oct. 14,
2006.
She was a former resident of the Lone Pine Community, widow of Jim
Parker and was preceded in death by one brother, Leftridge Basham.
She is survived by two sons, Sam Parker and wife, Mary, of Greenbrier
and Eddie Parker and wife, Shelly, of Columbia, Ill.; one grandson,
Justin Parker; four granddaughters, Audry, Lindsey, Ashley and Taylor
Parker; and three sisters, Rita O'Neal and Bea Clark, both of
Clarksville, and Yvonne England of Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral was at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the First Baptist Church
in De Valls Bluff followed by graveside services and burial at 2 p.m.
at the Lone Pine Cemetery with Sam Parker officiating.
Pallbearers were Don O'Neal, Phil England, Mike Jacobs, Gary Jacobs,
Carey Clark, and Clark Gray.
