Annie Mae Willis, 84, of Clarksville died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at her
home.
She was the widow of Gilbert Willis and was preceded in death by one
grandson, James Killough.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Ann Fetters and husband, Laudell,
of Clarksville; and four grandchildren, Stan Beldon and Alicia, Tosha
and Tommy Killough.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Roller-Cox Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Melvin Bankhead and Rev. Amos Pledger
officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be special friends.
Brian Walter Lingerfelt, 41, of Siloam Springs died Friday, Nov. 11,
2005, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Whidbey Island, Calif., and a construction employee.
Survivors are his parents, Charles and Roberta Lingerfelt of Siloam
Springs, formerly of Johnson County; one son, Jim Lingerfelt of Siloam
Springs; one daughter, CaSondra Lingerfelt of Siloam Springs; two
brothers, Jeff Lingerfelt and Mike Lingerfelt, both of Siloam Springs;
and one sister, Jennifer Stiles of West Fork.
Bethel Morse, 90, of the Piney Community died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005,
at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
She was a native of Eastland County, Texas, daughter of the late Tyson
and Minnie Parilla Rutherford Hollis, widow of W. D. (Don) Morse, owner
of the Bel Air Motel in Austin, Texas, member of London Chapter No. 505
Order of the Eastern Star, Piney Extension Homemakers Club, and the
Piney Bible Church, former member of the United Methodist Church at
London; and was preceded in death by one daughter, Bethel Helen Elmore;
and one sister, Lela Mayo.
Survivors include one son, Donald Glenn Morse of Austin, Texas; two
daughters, Oleta Tillman of London and Donna G. Underwood of McGregor,
Texas; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; four
great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rozelle Franks of Lockhart,
Texas, and Marie Wagner of Hamilton, Texas; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Piney Bible Church with
Rev. Steve Maczko and Josh Bazyk officiating.
Burial was at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of
Humphrey Funeral Home of Russellville.
Dan Houston Acord, 66, of Dallas, Texas, brother of Ruby Nowotny of
Clarksville, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005.
He was a native of Oark, son of the late John Herbert and Ethel Melson
Acord, member of the West English Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses
in Dallas, Texas, and was preceded in death by three brothers, Dennis
Acord, Roy Acord and Harold Acord, and one sister, JoAnn Acord Schwartz.
Other survivors include one brother, Carl Acord of Victoria, Texas; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Duane R. Anderson, 53, passed away on November 2, 2005, at the
Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI.
Duane R. Anderson was born on February 16th, 1952 in Litchfield, MN to
Darlene Lossman and Neil Anderson and lived in Racine, WI since 1957.
He had recently moved to Kickapoo Township near LaCrosse with his
fiancee' where they were building a new home.
Duane was employed by Roadway Express Inc. He was a member of the
Teamsters Union Local #43 from 1973-2000, and member of the Teamsters
Union Local #200 from 2000-2005. Duane also served in the U. S. Marine
Corps during the Vietnam era. Duane was an avid Harley enthusiast. He
loved the outdoors and was happiest when he was with his family,
hunting, fishing and of course riding his Harley.
Duane is survived by his only child, Heather (Rick) Morones of Racine,
WI; grandchildren, Nicholas, Miranda and Jordan Morones; his mother,
Darlene Lossman (Hartman, AR); father, Neil (Dorothy) Anderson (Racine,
WI) six sisters (four brothers-in-law), DiAnne Krebill (Paris, AR),
Marsha (Reggie) Cobb (Racine, WI), Vikki (Steve Stewart) Kaczmarek
(Paris, AR), Patricia (Jerry) Holman (Hartman, AR), Debbie Skanron
(Racine, WI), and Carolyn (Lee) Seeger (Racine, WI); four brothers
(three sisters-in-law), Mark Anderson (Racine, WI), Randy (Terri)
Anderson (Siren, WI), Terry (Pat) Green (Racine, WI), and Kevin (Janet)
Green (Racine, WI); numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and
great-nephews. He is further survived by his fiancee', Jerilyn DeGrave,
and her children, Shane, Brody and Kasey, and her two grandchildren,
Micah and Amaya.
Duane is preceded in death by his dad, Victor Lossman, father-in-law,
Edward Schumacker, and brother, Rick Green.
Duane was one of the original members of the High Riders Club of Racine.
Eula Jewell Bridges, 90, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005,
at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Rev. G. F. and Mary Clayborn, widow of
Rev. Oren James Bridges, member of the First Assembly of God Church in
Clarksville, and was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Lee Bridges
and John Dee Bridges; five brothers, Claude, Horace, Amos, Herman, and
Troy Clayborn; and three sisters, Bertha Warren, Celia Warren and Grace
Melson.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James Allen and Janet
Bridges of Mountainburg; one brother-in-law, Olen Bridges and wife,
Doris, of Camargo, Okla.; two sisters-in-law, Magdalene Dobbs and Lucy
Jacobs, both of Clarksville; one granddaughter, Lavahnda Stepp and
husband, James; and one great-granddaughter, Tara Stepp.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at the First Assembly of God
Church with Rev. Terry Cameron and Rev. Dade Kindrix officiating.
Burial was in Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox
Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Paul Ray Parker, Don Ray Freeman, Calvin
Warren, Edd Young, Jim Graves, and Arville Parker.
Elmer E. Whitson, 77, of Knoxville died Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, at
Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Kenefic, Okla., he was a son of the late Robert Elmer and
Mary Myrtle Marriott Whitson, retired master sergeant with the United
States Air Force having served for 25 years during the Korean War and
the Vietnam War, a retired postmaster of Knoxville Post Office with 15
years of service, and a member of the Rogers-Rye Post No. 2283 of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona
Whitson.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Stephen L. Whitson
of Clarksville and James R. and Linda Whitson of Whitley City, Ky.; two
daughters and sons-in-law, Marla and Andy Arredondo and DeLayne and
David McKnight, all of Clarksville; 11 grandchildren and spouses,
Kimberly and Larland Mayfield of Norwood, Mo., Tabitha and Sam Wall of
Mesquite, Texas, Stephen Whitson of Tampa Bay, Fla., Ramona and Frank
Dickerson of Dallas, Texas, Chad and Kim Morrow of Clarksville, Brian
Whitson of Fort Smith, Jimmy Arredondo of Nashville, Tenn., Chayo and
Kevin Ross of Coshocton, Ohio, Amada Arredondo of Vacaville, Calif., D.
W. and Lakisha McKnight of Coal Hill, and Rebecca McKnight of
Arkadelphia; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Chappel of
Clara, Okla., and Louise Swink of White Right, Texas; and one
sister-in-law, Lois Whitson of Lake Kiowa, Texas.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at the
National Cemetery in Fort Smith with Rev. Ira Taylor officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of
Russellville.
Mardie M. Webb, 89, of Conway, whose daughter and son-in-law, Lewis Ann
and Emmett Thomas, reside in Clarksville, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005,
at her home.
She was a native of Centerville in Faulkner County, daughter of the
late George Walker and Mary Naomi Robertson McAlister, former resident
of Dardanelle, member of the Presbyterian Church in Dardanelle, retired
teacher, and for 25 years assisted her late husband, Dr. Lewis A. Webb,
in his private practice at Dardanelle.
She is survived by one other daughter, Mary Louise Webb Fields of
Conway; two grandchildren, Allen Fields and wife, Gail, of Crystal
Springs, Minn., and Naomi O'Kelley and husband, Jonathan, of Conway;
three great-grandchildren, Christopher and Ryan Fields of Crystal
Springs, Minn., and Kayla O'Kelley of Conway; one stepgreat-grandson,
Matt Martin of Crystal Springs, Minn.; two brothers, Floyd McAlister of
Conway and Rev. J. L. McAlister and wife, Nita, of Farmersville,
Calif.; and one sister, Ruth Llewellyn of Hector.
Robert Wayne Gayle, 69, of Santa Cruz, Calif., died Saturday, Nov. 12,
2005, while visiting family in Russellville.
A native of Abernathy, Texas, he was a son of the late John and Ruby
Howard Gayle, former resident of Lamar, served in the Army National
Guard, and was a farmer raising livestock and growing hay and grain. In
1977, he moved to Santa Cruz, Calif., where he was employed as an
upholsterer for Santa Cruz Mattress and Upholstery. He was preceded in
death by his wife, Donna Dianne Gayle.
He is survived by three sons, Robert C. Gayle and David G. Gayle, both
of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Michael W. Gayle of Russellville; three
sisters, Barbara McCarley and Claudine Dillard, both of Lamar, and
Corrine Schaffer of Missouri; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, in Santa Cruz,
Calif., with a private burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Gardens Chapel in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Reba Lou Odom, 78, of Fresno, Calif., died Oct. 28, 2005.
She was a native of Coal Hill, daughter of the late Everett and Emma
Castleberry Hurst, widow of Owen R. Odom, graduate of Coal Hill High
School and attended the University of the Ozarks. She moved to
Richmond, Calif., during World War II and worked for a government
office of the state of California prior to moving to Fresno, Calif. She
was also a real estate broker, worked for many years as the executive
secretary to the director of the California Southern Baptist Convention
and was a member of Trinity Southern Baptist Church in Fresno, Calif.
Violet Nell Ledbetter Vernon, 72, of Russellville died Wednesday, Nov.
9, 2005, at her home.
A native of the Spadra Community, she was a daughter of the late Claude
and Latitia Blevins Ledbetter, 1951 graduate of Hartman High School,
Methodist, and manager at Skyline Bakery for 17 years, after which she
managed the Dover Supermarket Bakery. She was preceded in death by
three brothers, Jim, Don and Dougan Ledbetter and two sisters, Mary
Jane and Nora Ledbetter.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Vernon; two daughters and one
son-in-law, Anita Cox of Russellville and Patricia (Laney) and Preston
Sweeden of Morrilton; one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and DeLyn
Vernon of Portland, Texas; seven grandchildren, Angie Freeman and
husband, Brent, of Russellville, Eric Cox and wife, Denise, of Maben,
Miss., Daniel Cox and wife, Lynn, of Russellville, Sean Sweeden and
Mallory Sweeden, both of Morrilton, and Tyler Vernon and Chance Vernon,
both of Portland, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Jessica Young of
Russellville and Savanna Freeman and Matt Freeman, both of Dover; one
brother, Harry (Ike) Ledbetter of Abita Springs, La.; one sister, Frona
Puckett of Pottsville; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Humphrey
Chapel with Rev. Helen Hargreaves officiating. Cremation arrangements
were under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
