Evelyeen McMinn, 76, of Dover died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, at her home.
A native of Witt Springs, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Cassie
Hollabaugh Gillam, widow of T. J. (Red) McMinn, attended the Household
of Faith at Clarksville, and was preceded in death by one son, Lloyd
Ray Nichols, and one daughter, Ruby Lou McMinn.
She is survived by two sons, James McMinn and William McMinn, both of
Dover; six daughters, Martha Massie, Mary Bishop, Judy Craig, Linda
Brashear, and Cassie Brown, all of Dover, and Susanna Domerese of
Kansas City, Mo.; 28 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several
brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Jeanette Wadley Allen, 57, of Pocola, Okla., died Friday, Sept. 9,
2005, at her home.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Erin Wadley,
attended Harvest Time Tabernacle, former Sebastian County deputy
sheriff, and a member of the American Quarterhorse Association.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Allen; one daughter, Patti Pinter
of Fort Smith; one son, Donald Eveld Jr. of Fort Smith; mother and
stepfather, Joan and James Paxson of Clarksville; and five
grandchildren, Alan, Bret and Claire Pinter and Lindsey and Kylie Eveld.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in
Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Jim C. Fritts Jr., 57, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005.
He was self-employed, owner of Jim Fritts Auto Plex in Clarksville,
youth baseball and basketball coach, and member of the Clarksville
Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Curvin Fritts; three daughters,
Kelsey A. Curvin of the home, Michelle Nichols and husband, James, of
Fayetteville, and Candice Fritts Vergara and husband, Armando, of
Clarksville; one son, J. Mackenzie Curvin of the home; two host
students, Peter Urban of Slovakia and Steffen Poulsen of Denmark; one
sister, Glynda Pollard of Tulsa, Okla.; and two grandchildren, James
Nichols of Fayetteville and Noah Vergara of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at the Clarksville Church
of Christ. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral
Home of Ozark.
Pallbearers were past and present members of the Clarksville Renegades
Baseball team.
Jack E. Walters, 86, of Clarksville died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, at
Clarksville Convalescent Home.
A native of Howe, Okla., he was a retired coal miner and Colonial bread
salesman for 35 years, Navy veteran of World War II, member of Bunch
Walton Post No. 22 of the American Legion, and was preceded in death by
his wife, Jessie Vozel Walters.
Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Micky Patterson
of Greenwood and Jayne and Stephen Usery of St. Paul, Minn.; two sons
and daughters-in-law, Jack and Leandra Walters of Murfreesboro, Tenn.,
and Jim and Charlotte Walters of Clarksville; grandchildren, Jon and
Danny Walters and James and Jaki Walters, all of Murfreesboro, Tenn.,
Joe Walters of Tigard, Ore., Blake Patterson of Fayetteville, and Sarah
and Larry Perreault of Lakeville, Minn.; and two great-grandchildren,
Emily Rose Sargent and Jaxon Connor Perreault.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel
with Rev. William Wewer, O.S.B., and Rev. Billy Usery officiating.
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery at Fort Smith under the direction of
Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Lee L. (Percy) Wall, 84, of Fort Smith, formerly of Clarksville, died
Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort
Smith.
He was a native of Coal Hill, son of the late Hugh L. and Jettie Spicer
Wall, 1940 graduate of Coal Hill High School, member of Coal Hill VFW,
Ferguson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Coal Hill and Army Air Corps
of World War II, retired route man for Acme Industrial Laundry in Fort
Smith, and was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Douglas Wall; one
brother, Hugh L. Wall Jr.; and one sister, Doss Highfill.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Douglas Wall; one daughter, Mary
Nell Donoho and husband, Tommy Donoho Jr. of Little Rock; one sister,
Ila Ferguson of Muskogee, Okla.; three brothers, Otto Wall and wife,
Norma Jean, of Coal Hill, Russell Wall and wife, Jolene, of Branson,
Mo., and Earl Wall and wife, Annabel, of Frisco City, Ala.; and one
grandson, Tommy Donoho III and wife, Leanne, of Fayetteville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Ferguson Memorial
Presbyterian Church in Coal Hill with Burley King and Bob King
officiating.
Burial was in Coal Hill Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke
Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Roy Elkins, Edward Bean, David Hutchinson,
Richard Bullard, Mark Kesner and Don Robert Hurst.
Olita Fay Stockton, 56, of Hartman died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at
St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith from injuries sustained
in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 64 in Franklin County.
She was a daughter of the late Ella Mae Nichols and a member of the
Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Missy Stockton McCabe
and Mark McCabe of Clarksville; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jimmy
and Donna Brousseau and Butch Brousseau, all of Hartman; father, Cecil
F. Nichols of Clarksville; five brothers, Alan Nichols of Clarksville,
Steve Nichols of Russellville, Doug and Roger Nichols, both of Hunt,
and James Nichols of Ozark; four sisters, Bernetta Loretta Cooper of
Ozark, Linda Sue Johnson and Nellie Mae Johnson, both of Lamar, and
Gladys Rachael Pitts of Hartman; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Roller-Cox Funeral
Home Chapel with Jerry Richardson officiating. Burial will be in
Liberty Hill Cemetery at Hunt.
Active pallbearers will be Jason Johnson, Seth Johnson, Chad Johnson,
Josh Brousseau, Jimmy Brousseau Jr., and Jesse Stockton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Nichols and Billy Fox.
Raymond Samuel Wakefield, 85, of Fort Smith, father of Ray G. Wakefield
of Clarksville, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005.
He was a retired captain for the Fort Smith Fire Department, retired
painting contractor, member of First Baptist Church, and was preceded
in death by one son, Donald.
Other survivors are his wife, Mary Frances Lewis Wakefield; four
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel
with burial at the U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
Pallbearers were Ray Wakefield Jr., Corey Wakefield, Scott Erwin, Jason
Shepherd, and Terry and Jim Lewis.
