Dorothy Mae (Nippy) Harris, 62, of Oark died Friday, June 3, 2005, at
her home.
She was a daughter of the late James William and Myrtle Katherine
Rhoades Cummins, widow of Henry Harris, farming laborer, Baptist, and
was preceded in death by two sons, Leslie James Cummins and Alvin Lynn
Harris; one sister; and two brothers.
She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Kate Oddson and husband,
Clayton, of Alma; two sons, John William Harris and wife, Kristine, of
Mulberry and Harvey Ervin Harris and wife, Monica, of Van Buren; three
stepdaughters, Stephanie Harris of Oark, Susan Franklin of Dill City,
Okla., and Sharon Marion of Yukon, Okla.; one stepson, Tony Ripley of
McAlester, Okla.; one sister, Linda Ashley and husband, Jesse, of
Mountainburg; one brother, Lonnie Lee Cummins and wife, Pamela, of
Oark; one half-brother, Wyvone Ritchie of Redding, Calif.; 31
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Frona Marie Ledbetter, 52, formerly of the Spadra Community, died
Thursday, May 19, 2005, in Las Vegas, Nev.
She was born in Georgia to Donald and Della Marie Hall Ledbetter.
Survivors include two children, Donald Jason Ledbetter and Athena
Snyder, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Donna Folk of Las Vegas,
Nev., and Ronda McKitteick of Illinois; seven granddaughters and one
grandson.
Her body was donated to the International Institute for the Advancement
of Medicine. Her ashes will be buried at the Spadra Cemetery at a later
date.
Landon Gaige Pierce, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Kevan Pierce of
Leesville, La., died Sunday, May 15, 2005, at Beauregard Memorial
Hospital in DeRidder, La. Mrs. Pierce is the former Mikah Pitts of
Clarksville.
He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Willie and Beulah
Patton of Clarksville.
Other than his parents, he is survived by one brother, Austin Blake
Pierce of Richland, Mo.; grandparents, Willene Patton and Richard
Capovilla of Leesville, La., and Bob Pierce of Franklin, Texas; and
numerous great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins from the Clarksville
area.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Old Leesville Cemetery in Leesville, La., with Rev. E. J. Dantin officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville, La.
Myrtle E. Ruppert, 92, of Clarksville died Monday, May 30, 2005, in
Paris Hospital.
She was a native of Austin, Texas, a daughter of the late John N. and
Theresa Stasney Sefcik, widow of E. L. (Red) Ruppert, graduate of
Clarksville High School, attended the University of the Ozarks, and
member of Second Baptist Church, Clarksville Chapter No. 172 Order of
the Eastern Star and the Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and J. C.
Douglas of Clarksville; one son, Rick Ward of Clarksville; five
grandchildren, Denise Rogodzinski of Poteau, Okla., Debbie Franklin,
Mark Douglas, and Christina Cowell, all of Clarksville, and Kent
Douglas of Maumelle; and 11 great-grandchildren, Khamree and Kyerra
Cowell, Jessica Gill, Marci Wyche, Stacia Shivley, Kate Douglas,
Lindsay Douglas, Connar Douglas, Luke Douglas, Dylan Douglas, and Holly
Breedlove.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2, at
Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Richard Rogers officiating. Arrangements
were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Regina Gail Baker, 49, of Clarksville died Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at
Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Garland and Eunice Gipson Curtis,
Baptist, and was preceded in death by one sister, Vicki Merridith.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley E. Baker; one son, Kevin Baker of
Clarksville; two brothers and sister-in-law, Don and Marilyn Curtis and
Gary and Sue Curtis, all of Clarksville; and one brother-in-law, James
Merridith of Clarksville.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at
Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating.
Private burial will be at Kendall Cemetery.
Ronald Joe (Ron) Kinsworthy, 52, of Altus died Monday, May 30, 2005, at
Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark.
A native of Clarksville, he was a son of the late Florine Lawrence
Kinsworthy, log truck driver, former employee of the Arkansas Highway
Department, and was preceded in death by one brother, Ricky Kinsworthy.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Pledger Kinsworthy; five
daughters, Angela Kinsworthy of Paris, Rhonda Kinsworthy of Altus, and
Justice, Hailey and Amy Kinsworthy, all of the home; father, Waldo
Kinsworthy of Altus; two sisters, Debra Masingale of Altus and Nancy
Cumming of Fort Smith; one brother, Randy Kinsworthy of Alix; two
grandsons, Joseph and Jacob Atteberry, both of Altus; mother-in-law,
Cora Hall of Altus; and several nieces and nephews.
Squire Junior Clayborn, 80, of Lamar died Friday, June 3, 2005, at
Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a timber industry employee, son of the late Squire Stone and Ann
Clayborn, and was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Clayborn; two
sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include five daughters, Diane Fox and husband, Richard, of
Ozone, Deanna Couch and husband, Mike, of Fayetteville, Rhonda Marlow
and husband, John, of Clarksville, Cleta Martin of Russellville and Sue
Clayborn and companion, Bobby Roach of Lamar; three sons, Danny
Clayborn and wife, Kathy, and Jackie Clayborn, all of Lamar, and Steve
Clayborn of Clarksville; one brother, Jimmy Clayborn of Lamar; 19
grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 6, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. David McLemore officiating. Burial was in Lamar
Cemetery.
Wenola Warren, 83, of Clarksville died Sunday, June 5, 2005, at
Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Melvil Filmore
and Effie Estelle Self Kerwin, widow of LeRoy Warren, graduate of
Clarksville High School, and retired U. S. Forest Service employee.
She is survived by one son, Ronald K. Warren and wife, Mary Lou, of
Clarksville; two grandchildren, Robert Warren and wife, Sharon, of Hunt
and Jason Warren and wife, Pam, of Clarksville; and one
great-grandchild, Katie Warren of Clarksville.
