Allen Wayne Sams, 53, of Lamar died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at Johnson
Regional Medical Center.
He was employed by Greenville Tube Corporation and was of the Jehovah
Witness faith.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Cates Sams; one daughter and
son-in-law, Alaina and Wesley Richardson of Clarksville; two sons and
one daughter-in-law, Lee and Jessica Sams of Ozone and Terry Sams of
Lamar; parents, Max and Verna Sams of Hartman; two sisters and
brothers-in-law, Gail and Edgar Best of Okmulgee, Okla., and Patricia
and Gary Hiland of Irvington, Ky; two brothers and one sister-in-law,
Larry and Debbie Sams of Hagarville and Robert Sams of Hartman; and
four grandchildren, Logan and Josie Sams and April and Jamie Richardson.
Graveside services and burial were at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at
Hickory Grove Cemetery at Nail with Joe Sain officiating. Arrangements
were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Donald Ray Bowman, 57, of Coal Hill died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at his
home.
He was a retired mechanic, son of the late Matt and Naomi Warden
Bowman, and a native of Franklin County.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Bowman; two daughters, Tracy Don
Harmon and Samantha Cooper, both of Spiro, Okla.; two sons, Johnny Ray
Bowman and Donald Ray Bowman, both of Spiro, Okla.; two sisters, Pat
Jetter of Lovington, N. M., and Evelyn Eaton of Hobbs, N. M.; four
brothers, Omer Bowman of Atlanta, Texas, Roy and Bill Bowman, both of
Guthrie, Okla.; and Elvin Bowman of Coal Hill; and four grandchildren,
Allen Michael Harmon, Ireland Grace Cooper, and Janice and Sabrina
Bowman.
Heartsell Hall, 89, of Clarksville died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at
Clarksville Convalescent Home.
A native of Walnut, he was a son of the late James Finley and Laura
Beckham Hall, graduate of Clarksville High School, member of the First
United Methodist Church, past president and member of Clarksville
Country Club, former Clarksville Light and Water Company commissioner,
former owner of Hall's Mens Wear, 32nd degree Mason, founding member of
Clarksville Supper Club, Navy veteran of World War II, and was preceded
in death by his wife, Mildred Taylor Hall, and one son, James Edward
Hall.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Michael
Stiles of Bella Vista and Marilyn and Bob Crumbley of Marietta, Ga.;
one son and daughter-in-law, John Michael and Brenda Hall of
Clarksville; one sister, Anna Laura Sann of Baltimore, Md.; one
brother, Claud Hall of Clarksville; three grandchildren; and one
great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, at the First United
Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Spence officiating.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke
Funeral Home.
Joe V. Burton, 80, of Knoxville died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Johnson
Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of the Hickeytown Community, son of the late Arthur and
Mary Jane Drummond Burton, employee of Eureka Brick Company until his
retirement in 1972, member of the First Baptist Church at Knoxville,
and was preceded in death by five sisters, Ruth Nichols, Alta
Hunnicutt, Margie Chavers, Jessie Hattabaugh, and Mary Storms.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Mae Alderson Burton; two daughters
and sons-in-law, Sherry and Ronnie Hudson of Charlotte, N. C., and
Donna and Gary Reed of Winslow; five grandchildren, Larissa Reed of
Fayetteville, Renner Reed of Little Rock, Joy Osuch and husband, Steve,
of Danforth, Maine; Ronnie Hudson and wife, Leigh, of Uniontown, Pa.,
and Mary Hudson of Charlotte, N. C.; and one brother, Willard Burton of
Knoxville.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at the First Baptist Church in
Knoxville with Rev. Don Roy Hankins and Rev. Richard Snyder officiating.
Burial was in Knoxville Cemetery under the direction of Humphrey
Funeral Service of Russellville.
Grandsons served as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Glenn Rainey, Don Cochran and members of the
Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Katie O. Brown, 80, of Rogers, formerly of Clarksville, died Wednesday,
May 25, 2005, at Rogers.
A native of Marlow, Okla., she was a daughter of the late Sidney L. and
Gladys Vaught Davis, widow of W. J. (Bus) Brown, attended schools in
Amherst and Lubbock, Texas, former bank employee until retirement,
member of the First United Methodist Church in Rogers, St. Mary's
Hospital Auxiliary and of Arkansas Eta Masters Chapter of Beta Sigma
Phi. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Vera and Richard Hinson
of Rogers; one grandson, Marcus Hinson and wife, Megan, of Dallas,
Texas; one sister, Christine Blevins of Farmington, N. M.; and several
nieces and nephews.
Burial was at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at Oakland Cemetery in
Clarksville with Rev. Davis Thompson officiating.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, at the First
United Methodist Church in Rogers with Rev. Sandra Wanasek officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Stockdale Funeral Services of
Rogers.
Lawerance C. (Bud) Frederick, 73, of Subiaco died Friday, May 27, 2005,
in Paris.
He was born in Subiaco, son of the late Herman Joseph and Rose Marie
Vonderheide Frederick, retired Cloyes Gear Company employee after 15
years of service, carpenter for many yers, member of St. Benedict
Catholic Church where he was a member of the choir and Men's Society,
member of Catholic Knights of America, leader of 4-H and CYO clubs,
member of the Subiaco Crossroads Fire Department and a veteran of the
Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Schluterman Frederick; four
daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and David Cannon of Paris, Theresa and
Keith Morrison of Subiaco, Elizabeth and Kenneth Williams of Oark, and
Rita and John White of Covington, La.; five sons and daughters-in-law,
Francis and Kim Frederick of Kingsburg, Texas, Matthew and Jimmie
Frederick and Charles and Brenda Frederick, all of Subiaco, Paul and
Melissa Frederick of Peachtree, Ga., and Leon and Mary Ann Frederick of
Paris; one sister, Doris Komp; six brothers, Herman, Raymond, Louis,
Gus, Tom and Anthony Frederick; 28 grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren.
Rosary was at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at St. Benedict Catholic Church
at Subiaco. Funeral mass was at 10 a.m. Monday, May 30, at St. Benedict
Catholic Church with burial in St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery at
Subiaco. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller Funeral Home
of Paris.
Myrtle E. Ruppert, 92, of Clarksville died Monday, May 30, 2005, in
Paris Hospital.
She was a native of Austin, Texas, daughter of the late John N. and
Theresa Stasney Sefcik, widow of E. L. (Red) Ruppert, graduate of
Clarksville High School, attended the University of the Ozark, and
member of Second Baptist Church, Clarksville Chapter No. 172 Order of
the Eastern Star, and the Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and J. C.
Douglas of Clarksville; five grandchildren, Denise Rogodzinski of
Poteau, Okla., Debbie Franklin, Mark Douglas, and Christina Cowell, all
of Clarksville, and Kent Douglas of Maumelle; and two
great-grandchildren, Khamree and Kyerra Cowell, both of Clarksville.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2, at
Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Richard Rogers officiating. Arrangements are
under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Orville E. Sears, 91, of Clarksville died Sunday, May 29, 2005, at
Clarksville Convalescent Home.
He was a son of the late Franklin O. and Louisa Bean Sears, retired
factory and civil service employee, Baptist, served in World War II,
lifetime member of the Mother Lodge Mineral Society of California,
recipient of numerous awards including two national awards for Best of
Cabochons in 1966 and 1984, and was preceded in death by his wife,
Florence M. Sears; two sisters; and six brothers.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews including Debbie Sears
and Claudia Wagner, both of Clarksville; and Kerry Sears, Wendell Sears
and Nelson Sears, all of Clarksville.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, at
East Mount Zion Cemetery with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating.

Roberto Medina Cruz, 30, of Clarksville died Sunday, May 22, 2005, at
his home.
He was a native of Rio Grande, Mexico.
He is survived by two daughters, Benesa Medina and Fatima Medina, both
of Clarksville; one son, Aram Medina of Clarksville; father, Inosenfe
Medina Longoria of Clarksville; mother, Ernestina Ramines Cruz of
Clarksville; two sisters, Hortencia Medina and Maria Medina, both of
Clarksville; three brothers, Cruz Medina, Leoncia Medina and Arturo
Medina, all of Clarksville; and companion, Emeralda Medrano of
Clarksville.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at Holy Redeemer Catholic
Church followed by burial at Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery.
Theron Roy Farrer Sr., 80, of Scranton died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at
Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
A native of Rosie, he was a son of the late Walter F. and Doris Mae
Magness Farrer, Navy veteran of World War II, Army veteran of the
Korean War, retired welder, and was preceded in death by one son, Hoy
Farrer.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Mabry Farrer; two daughters,
Annette Allen of Fayetteville and Cindy Pate of Hot Springs; one son
and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Theron R. (Sherri) Farrer Jr. of
Scranton; one sister, Geraldine Farrer of Pine Bluff; four brothers, J.
W. Farrer of Rison, Vane Farrer of Scranton, Charles Farrer of Pine
Bluff, and Robert Farrer of Vicksburg, Miss.; four grandchildren; and
six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at Hardwicke Funeral
Chapel with Rev. Charles Saulsberry II officiating. Burial will be in
Ware Chapel Cemetery.
