Cynthia Willis McGrew, 54, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at
the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Cecil
Sutterfield of Clarksville.
She was a native of Little Rock, daughter of the late James P. and
Martha Beard Willis, former resident of Pine Bluff, graduate of Pine
Bluff High School and University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, former
employee of Coca Cola and Beverly Enterprises, both of Fort Smith,
attended St. John's Episcopal Church in Fort Smith, and was actively
involved in fund-raising for Donald W. Reynolds Cancer Support House of
Fort Smith and Girl Scouts of Fort Smith.
Other survivors include one brother and sister-in-law Mike and Lyn
Willis of Houston, Texas; two nephews; three nieces; three
grand-nieces; and companion, Orley Massena of Fort Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at St.
John's Episcopal Church in Fort Smith. Local arrangements were under
the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Glenn A. Richardson, 31, of the Flat Rock Community died Friday, May
13, 2005, at his home.
He was a native of Sikeston, Mo., son of the late Sedric Vanderfecht,
and graduate of Lancaster (Pennsylvania) High School.
He is survived by one daughter, Kassi Richardson of Texas; two sons,
Alexander Richardson and Kavin Richardson, both of Clarksville; mother,
Judith Barlow of Festa, Mo.; grandmother, Janice Robinholt of Leola,
Pa.; two sisters, Tammy Barlow of Festa, Mo., and Tina Richardson of
Pueblo, Colo.; and two brothers, Sedric Richardson of the Flat Rock
Community and Jay Richardson of Tahlequah, Okla.
Josie Lee Dickson, 63, of Mulberry, mother of Lona Santiago of
Clarksville, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at her home.
She was an apartment manager, Baptist, native of Sidon, and daughter of
the late Guy and Iva Watkins Dickson.
Survivors include two other daughters, Susan Garrison of California and
Laura Sharrah of Van Buren; one son, Gary Garris of Pleasant Plains;
two sisters, Bernice Neighbours of Conway and Maxine Dickson of Green
Forest; three brothers, Grover Dickson of Viliona, Lester Dickson of
Pickens Chapel and Calvin Dickson of Clinton; 14 grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
Larry Heyland, 51, of Clarksville died Sunday, May 15, 2005, at Skaggs
Hospital in Branson, Mo.
He was a native of Fort Worth, Texas, son of the late William Reuben
and Pebble Sales Heyland, graduate of Boswell High School in Fort
Worth, Texas, member of Hedgeway Church, car dealer and preceded in
death by one brother, Lewis Heyland.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Heyland; two sons, Larry Heyland Jr.
of Clarksville and Brad Heyland of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Margie
Minyard of Saginaw, Texas; one brother, Billy Heyland of Baird, Texas;
and three grandchildren, Brooklyn Heyland, Larry Heyland and Matthew
Heyland, all of Clarksville.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at Hedgeway Church with
Rev. Dale Ruble officiating.
Burial will be in Hagarville Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke
Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Don Hale, Jerry Morris, Amber Dodge, Kelly Pultz,
Jim Fritts and Jeff Resimont.
Orlan D. (Dub) Baskin, 94, of Tulsa, Okla., died Wednesday, May 11,
2005.
A native of Johnson County, he was a son of the late Charles and Bessie
Baskin, served in the Army Air Force, retired McDonnell Douglas
employee after several years of service, owner of a small restaurant
where he was employed in service delivery, 20-year member of East Tulsa
Christian Church, and was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Evans;
and one infant brother.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years Katherine Looper Baskin; and one
nephew, Dr. Charles Evans of Stuart, Fla.
Terrel Lee Ferguson, 56, of Fayetteville, whose wife is the former
Janice Jacobs of Clarksville, died Thursday, May 12, 2005, at his home.
He was a native of Fayetteville, son of the late R. J. Ferguson,
veteran of the U. S. Army, retired letter carrier for the U. S. Post
Office, member of Local 1004 NALC, and a supporter and coach in
Fayetteville Youth Baseball Leagues.
Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and
Libby Ferguson and Joe and Alexandria Ferguson, all of Fayetteville;
one granddaughter, Julianna Ferguson; mother, Oleta Terry Ferguson of
Elkins; two brothers, Allen Ferguson of Fayetteville and Randy Ferguson
of Farmington; three sisters, Linda Parrish of Springdale, Brenda
Phillips of Phoenix, Ariz., and Marsha Marley of Elkins; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 16, at Beard's
Funeral Chapel of Fayetteville with Rev. Larry Mitchell and Rev. Jasper
Hankins officiating.
A private burial was held in Fayetteville National Cemetery.
Willie Marie Cater, 86, of Clarksville died Thursday, May 12, 2005, at
Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a daughter of the late Gus and Fannie Murrell Houston, widow of
Elmo Cater, graduate of Clarksville High School and Central Baptist
College in Conway, former teacher at Stone Hill, Hartman and Coal Hill
schools, member of the First United Methodist Church for 50-plus years,
and formerly employed in the office of Dr. W. R. Hunt.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Edward Gaspar
of St. Augustine, Fla.; one son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Jane
Cater of Clarksville; three grandchildren, Jeff Cater, John Doss and
Michelle Doss Asim; and three great-grandchildren, Dwight Cater, and
Alexandria and Nicholas Asim.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, May 16, at the Woodland Baptist Church
with Rev. Steve Wingo officiating.
Burial was in Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Roller- Cox
Funeral Home.
