Carl Sears, 52, of Alma, son of J. W. Sears of Clarksville, died
Friday, April 1, 2005, at his home.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Lillian Marie Ellison
Sears, and a mail room employee for Cosco Industries in Van Buren.
Other survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Sears of the home; one
son, Dustin Sears of Arkoma; six sisters, Shelby Anglin of Booneville,
Joyce Lovell and Freda Zorn, both of Hartford, Tammy Teague of
Batesville, Regina Marrs of Lexington, N. C., and Sonya Yates of
Clarksville; and four brothers, Doug and Donnie Willis, both of
Clarksville, Johnny Sears of Altus and Eddie Sears of Lamar.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, at the Edwards Van-Alma
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Lee Willis officiating. Burial was
at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren.
Active pallbearers were Jim Anglin, Charles Sears Jr., Gail, Daniel and
Larry Ellison and Wayne King.
Eileen Louise Harrison Bauer, 80, of Seabrook, Texas, formerly of
Morrison Bluff, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, in League City, Texas.
She was a retired bookkeeper, daughter of the late Bob and Sarah
Richerson Harrison, and widow of Roman Bauer.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ron Ahlhorn of
Seabrook, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Tanya Bauer of
Ward; seven grandchildren, Ryan Bauer, Hollie Plummer, Jessica
Depetris, Paige Bauer, Evan Qualls, Erin Qualls, and Nicole Qualls
White and husband, Jason; and two great-grandchildren, Kelsey Plummer
and Alyssa White.
A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, at Saints
Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Morrison Bluff with Father William
Wewers officiating.
Burial will be in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Morrison Bluff
under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Dr. George Wesley Taylor III, 55, of Clarksville died Friday, April 8,
2005, at his home.
He was born March 14, 1950, at Clarksville, graduate of Clarksville
High School, Arkansas Tech University, and University of Arkansas
School of Medicine, and was retired from Clarksville Medical Group. He
was preceded in death by his father, George Wesley Taylor Jr.
Survivors are his wife, Rosanna King Taylor; two sons, James Jonathan
Taylor and Christopher Patrick Taylor of Clarksville; one daughter,
Caroline Jeanne Taylor of Clarksville; mother, Dorothy Taylor of
Clarksville; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Linda Taylor of
Fairbanks, Alaska, Bill and Kathie Taylor of Gentry, Dick and Beverly
Taylor of Berryville, and Paul and Savannah Taylor of Clarksville; and
mother-in-law, Jean King of Clarksville.
He was a master gardener and loved nature, hunting, fishing and picking
his mandolin with the Piney Creek Ramblers on the porch at Ozone.
Graveside memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 11, at
the Mount Vernon Cemetery with Rev. Steve Wingo and Denton Tumbleson
officiating.
Visitation was from 1-2:30 p.m. Monday at the home.

Jimmie Jean Fortney, 68, of Clarksville died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at
her home.
She was a daughter of the late Irvin and Betha Beasley Martin, former
bakery owner and cake decorator, member of the Landmark Missionary
Baptist Church and choir member.
Survivors include her husband, Norman Fortney; one daughter and
son-in-law, Brenda and Les Jarrard of Paris; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Russell and Laura Fortney of Midland, Mich., and Alan
and Jan Fortney of Conway; three sisters, Gussie Johnson of Paris,
Freddie Arbuthnot of Bentonville, and Frankie Cantrell of Foristell,
Mo.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, April 8, at the Landmark Missionary
Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating.
Burial was in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox
Funeral Home.

Wheeler, Ken Patton, and Jim Gould.

Ottis Dewey Pyron, 90, of Clarksville died Friday, April 8, 2005, at
his home.
He was a retired automotive parts salesman, member of the First
Presbyterian Church in Clarksville, a 50 year-plus member of Franklin
Masonic Lodge No. 9 in Clarksville, and son of the late Wallace C. and
Ethel Stewart Pyron.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Pyron; one brother, Ewell Pyron of
Conroe, Texas; five nieces, Jane Curtis of Conroe, Texas, Jane Haynes
of Olive Branch, Miss., Roberta Golden of Clarksville, Terry Doyle of
Springdale and Teresa Short of Caulksville; two nephews, David Pyron
and Bob Basham, both of Clarksville; and numerous great-nieces and
great-nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, at Roller-Cox Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in
Oakland Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Wayne Pyron, Duane Steele, Turner Whitson,
Robert Gibson, Don Williams, and Eldon Colley.
Opal F. Taylor, 66, of Clarksville died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at
Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Adrain, Mo., daughter of the late Dean and Thelma
Champlin, and a graduate of Amsterdam High School in Amsterdam, Mo.
Survivors include her husband, Pat Taylor; one daughter and son-in-law,
Becky and Marty Dalton of Clarksville; one son and daughter-in-law,
Rusty and Debbie Taylor of Clarksville; five sisters, Juanita Dyer and
Wilma Walley, both of Amsterdam, Mo., Vena Purkey of Drexel, Mo., Ellen
Hartman of Louisburg, Mo., and Patricia Highfield of Adrian, Mo.; three
brothers, Steve Champlin, Martin Champlin and Dale Champlin, all of
Amsterdam, Mo.; four grandchildren, Katy Taylor, Emmett Dalton, Randy
Taylor, and Christina Davis; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia Taylor
and Samantha Taylor.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 15, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel
followed by burial in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Jordan, Doyle Jordan, Billy Jordan, Dean
Wright, Young Soo Chun, and Wesley Kendrick.
Pierce Omer Cole, 68, of Lamar died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at Johnson
Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired security officer at the University of the Ozarks, son
of the late John and Eula Holman Cole, and was preceded in death by one
brother, George Cole.
Survivors are his wife, JoAnn Cole; two daughters, Rachel Pippin of
Harrison and Laurel Mott of Clarksville; three sons, Kirwin Cole of
Eureka Springs, Sherman Cole of Lamar, and Jeff Cole of Hartman; one
brother, William Cole of Lamar; four grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
Tommy (Buckeye) Garner, 72, of Coal Hill died Saturday, April 9, 2005
in Coal Hill.
He was a retired truck driver for Missouri-Pacific Trucklines, member
of the Coal Hill Masonic Lodge No. 383 and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Garner; two daughters, Becky
McGuire of Hartman and Amanda Garner of Clarksville; one son, Ronnie
Garner of Coal Hill; two sisters, Lura Morgan and Doris Yates, both of
Coal Hill; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2005,
at the Coal Hill Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home
of Ozark.
Active pallbearers were Dale Blevins, Kevin Morgan, Stephen Joseph
Young, John Young, Don Garner, Jerry Howe, Randy Yates, and Malcolm Cox.
