Buel Dean (Mac) McFadden, 71, of Hartman died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004,
at his home.
He was a son of the late William Allen and Maude Estelle Pixley
McFadden, attended the Free Jesus Name Church where he served as a
trustee, U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, production manager for
Van De Camp in Los Angeles, Calif., for several years, Kim's Products
for 18 years and at Stillwell Foods for five years, and was preceded in
death by two sisters, Bonnie Alvesta Smith and Treva Jane Mattingly;
and one brother, Oscar William McFadden.
Survivors include his widow, Betty Jo Baxter McFadden; four daughters
and three sons-in-law, Darlene and Dave Newman of California, Debbie
and Bobby Grigsby of Hartman, Joann and Alan Mize of Clarksville, and
Sharon Patterson of California; five sons and four daughters-in-law,
Dean and Mila McFadden and Mr. and Mrs. Bill McFadden, all of
California, Jerry and Lois Bohannon of Hunt, Ronnie and Tammy Bohannon
of Coal Hill, and Lonnie Bohannon of Hunt; one sister, Virginia Grayson
of Van Buren; one brother, Rev. Acie McFadden of Rudy; 17
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Free Jesus Name Church
in Coal Hill with Rev. David Zeiler officiating.
Burial was in Cassville Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox
Funeral Home.

Chris Newman, Bryan Domerese, and Donnie Buckhanan.
Dale Nichols, 59, of Ratcliff died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at Ozone.
He was a native of Hartman, son of the late Chester Jake and Ruth Naomi
Drewry Nichols, retired truck driver, member of the Pentecostal Church
and was preceded in death by two brothers, John and David Nichols.
Survivors include his widow, Jean Brumley Nichols; five daughters,
Barbara Bartlett, Becky Crow, Susan English and Ruth Nichols, all of
Dover, and Casandra Nichols of Clarksville; two sons, Dale Nichols Jr.
of Maryland and Chad Nichols of Clarksville; three sisters, Willene
Houston of Fort Smith, Ellen Demmitt of London, and Pamela Beebe of
Clarksville; one brother, Mike Nichols of Clarksville; one stepson and
spouse, Rodney and Sandra Farmer of Fort Smith; three stepdaughters and
spouses, Lori and Lee Brammer, Tami and Rev. Richard Green, and Cheryl
Howard, all of Alma; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 7
stepgrandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel
with Rev. Wayne Looney officiating. Burial was in Hartman Cemetery.

Cody Green, David Nichols, and Ronnie Nichols.
Edith Jewell Donaldson, 91, of Elko, Nev., formerly of Clarksville,
died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, in Elko, Nev.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late Elet and Mary
Louvenie Callahan Patton, widow of Julius Jesse Donaldson, and was
preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Reeves, Rosa Lewis and
Virgie Blackard; and two brothers, Woodrow Patton and Willie Patton.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth Marler of Knoxville; one sister,
Mary Rusher of Lamar; one brother, Raymond Patton of Little Rock; three
grandchildren, Beth Preeschl of Orlando, Fla., June Braaten of Spring
Creek, Nev., and Stever Marler of Newport News, Va.; five
great-grandchildren, Kenneth Braaten, Jared Braaten, Jesse Braaten, and
Courtney, Laura and Bruce Preeschl; and several nieces and nephews.
Eamie M. Patterson Marlow, 95, of Sutter Creek, Calif., formerly of
Modesto, Calif., died Feb. 27, 2004, at Sutter Amador Hospital in
Jackson, Calif.
A native of Oark, she was the widow of John Abraham Marlow and was
preceded in death by one son, Eugene Marlow.
Survivors include four children, Florence Lorraine Pedranti of Oakdale,
Calif., Corine Fried of Sutter Creek, Calif., Roy Lee Marlow of
Pioneer, Calif., and Yvonne Jeffers of Modesto, Calif.; two sisters,
Edna Arbaugh and Jewell Dickerson, both of Clarksville; 18
grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, at Lakewood
Memorial Park in Hughson, Calif., under the direction of Franklin &
Downs-Colonial Chapel.
Larry Joe Brown, 60, of Lamar died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at Johnson
Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Kansas City, Mo., son of the late Jesse Brown,
machinist, and was preceded in death by his wife, Lilly Brown.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Brown and Anna Alexander, both
of Missouri; three sons, Michael Brown and Tony Elam, both of Missouri,
and Buck Elam of California; mother, Minnie Brown of Missouri; three
sisters, Judy Collins, Phyllis Raybourn and Lois Duncan, all of
Missouri; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at
Minnow Creek Cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements
are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Louise McQuinn Lincoln, 83, of Russellville died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004,
at the Russellville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A daughter of the late William E. and Minnie Mae Pommill Cogan, she was
a native of Middleton, Ohio, widow of Charles F. McQuinn and Earl
Lincoln, member of the National Association of Retired Federal
Employees, the Volunteer Auxiliary of AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical
Center, and First Baptist Church of Knoxville, volunteer for the Pope
County Literacy Council, recipient of the J. C. Penney Golden Rule
Award, and a Transitional Living Center Board member.
Survivors include three stepsons, Ken Lincoln of Raleigh, N. C., Rick
Lincoln of Stafford, Va., and John Lincoln of Ozark; one brother, Ray
Cogan of Kerrville, Texas; one sister, Janet Eggleton of Trenton, Ohio;
and several nephews and nieces including Gertrude Goe of Cobert, Wash.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at the First Baptist
Church of Knoxville with Rev. Richard Snyder officiating.
Burial will be in the Knoxville Cemetery under the direction of Shinn
Funeral Service of Russellville.

Meeks E. Johnson, 86, of Lamar died Monday, March 1, 2004, at
Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
He was a native of Lutherville, son of the late Joe and Clara Belling
Johnson, member of Second Baptist Church in Clarksville, an ordained
deacon, 50-year Mason, and was preceded in death by his wife, Florence
Alter Johnson; one son, Joe Johnson; and one brother, Frank Marland
Johnson.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Leonard
Lindstad of Lamar and Dorris and Don Morgan of Victoria, Texas; one son
and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Aden and Marie Johnson of Lamar; one
sister, Edna Hickey of Clarksville; two brothers, Gene Johnson and
Gaylon Johnson, both of Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 16
great-grandchildren.
M. J. Teague, 86, of Clarksville died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at his
home.
He was a native of Hobbs, N. M., son of the late James Henry and
Missouri Ann Netherland Teague, 1936 graduate of Hobbs (New Mexico)
High School, former president of Johnson County Riding Club for 17
years, member of Gately Hill Church at Dardanelle, and was preceded in
death by one son, Marion Michael Teague in 1994.
Survivors include his widow, Valtina Herman Teague; three daughters,
Donna Joyce Vire of Clarksville, Judy Gail Reeves of Hot Springs, and
Sharon Jay Terry of Hagarville; one son, Larry Darel Teague of
Batesville; one sister, Genieve Spears of Orangeburg, S. C.; one
brother, R. L. Teague of Hobbs, N. M.; 13 grandchildren; and 16
great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel
with burial in Oakland Cemetery.

Ray Newman, 97, of Eugene, Ore., died Jan. 30, 2004.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Lace and Julia Knuckles
Newman, attended Lamar Schools, retired certified welder, member of the
Horseless Carriage Club of America and the Pipefitters and Plumbers
Union, and was preceded in death by wives, Louise Killough Newman and
Ruth Lydick Newman; two sons, James and Michael; one daughter, Juanita;
and one brother, Archie Cooper of Clarksville.
Survivors include one son, Dennis of Pahrump, Nev.; six grandsons; one
granddaughter; eight stepchildren; and several nieces, nephews and
cousins of the Johnson County area.
Virginia M. Hoyt, 86, of Raleigh, N. C., died Feb. 23, 2004, in
Raleigh, N. C.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Colin Milton and
Vera Ella Sallis Threadgill, widow of Robert Wayland Hoyt, and former
resident of Springdale.
Survivors include one son, Robert M. Hoyt of Blue Springs, Mo.; one
daughter, Sherie Lynn Broadwell of Raleigh, N. C.; four grandchildren;
and three great-grandchildren.
W. D. (Dub) Shuffield, 80, of Dover died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, at
Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Johnson County, son of the late Shelby and Lola
Dollar Shuffield, member of the Pentecostal Church of God, and was a
former farmer and bus driver with the Dover Public Schools for 27 years.
Survivors include his widow, Claudine Stumbaugh Shuffield; one son and
daughter-in-law, Stan and Donna Shuffield of Dover; four daughters and
sons-in-law, Brenda and Fred Wells of Russellville, Ru-
tha and Bob Freeman of Clarksville, Carolyn and Mike Lee of Dover, and
JoAnn and Jim O'Neal of Branch; one sister and brother-in-law, Lenora
and Charles Standridge of Dover; 12 grandchildren and spouses, Tammy
and Wesley Morton of Dover, Bobby and Shelley Freeman and Mandi and
