David Leroy Davis, 66, of Clarksville died Wednesday, May 29, 2002,
at his home.
A native of St. Paul, Minn., he was a son of the late George and Helen
Nina Lush Davis, former employee of Johnson County Road Department, a member
of Grace Lutheran Church and was preceded in death by one son, Stanley
Davis.
Survivors include his widow, Joyce Davis; five daughters, Angela Donley
of Bay City, Wis., Amy Dosdall, Rita Baker and Penny Drew, all of Hager
City, Wis., and Jennifer Justice of Salus; one son, Elmer Davis of Clarksville;
one sister, Amy Larson of Sacramento, Calif., two brothers, George Davis
of Minneapolis, Minn., and Robert Davis of New Port, Minn.; 16 grandchildren;
and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 31, at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Loren Famuliner officiating. The body was cremated. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Funeral for Gladys (GeGe) Mattox, 83, of Fort Smith, who died Saturday,
May 25, 2002, at a Fort Smith nursing home, was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May
28, at Faith United Methodist Church in Fort Smith. Burial was in Oakland
Cemetery at Clarksville under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Stan Cook, Bill Cross, Dave Ross, Jim Townley, John
England, Larry Hanley, Eddie Gatlin, Tom Crovella and Hardee Marvin.

She was the widow of Chester Harold Mattox, a member of Faith United
Methodist Church, past member of the Mountainburg Order of the Eastern
Star, past member of the AEA and NEA, past member of the United Daughters
of the Confederacy, member of the Kappa Kappa Iota Teachers Sorority (Omicron
Conclave of Fort Smith), a retired elementary teacher with the Pleasant
View, Ozone, Mountainburg, Gentry, and Mansfield school districts.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Hart of Fort Smith; one sister, Helen Binkley of North Las Vegas, Nev.; one brother, Heartsill Peeples of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Dawn Brasuell and Judd Hart, both of Benton, and Todd Hart of Cabot; and eight great-grandchildren, Molly, Luke and Ben Brasuell and Max, Haley and Mason Hart, all of Benton, and Spence and Madison Hart of Cabot.
Herman (Mickey) Boudreaux Jr., 58, of Harvey, La., formerly of Clarksville,
died Friday, May 3, 2002, at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero,
La.
A native of Gretna, La., he was a son of the late Herman A. Boudreaux,
graduate of West Jefferson School in Harvey, La., and attended Delgado
Community College in New Orleans, La. He was a former resident of Yukon,
La., and former employee of Louisiana Power and Light, Nine Mile Pointe
and at Arkansas Nuclear One in Russellville from 1982 until retiring. He
was a parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Marrero,
La.
Survivors include his widow, Betty Aucoin Boudreaux; one son, Christopher
M. Boudreaux of Little Rock; one daughter, Melissa Keas of Yukon, La.;
mother and stepfather, Ruby and Marcus Angelo; three brothers, Tommy Boudreaux,
Dean Blank and Michael Blank, all of Louisiana; four sisters, Renee Adams
of Tampa, Fla., Joy Wise and Debbie Edwards, both of Clarksville, and Judy
Shano of Gretna, La.; and grandchildren, Allison Ellen and Claire Boudreaux
of Little Rock and Jared and Jordan Keas of Yukon, La.
A mass was said at St. Joseph the Worker Church and burial was at Westlawn Cemetery on May 7.
Mitchell Trent Wilcox, 41, of Fairfield Bay died Friday, May 31, 2002,
at his home.
He was a computer technology and science teacher and bus driver at Shirley
High School, native of Whittier, Calif., 1980 graduate of Altus High School,
graduate of the University of the Ozarks, former resident of Cedar Rapids,
Iowa, former manager of Econo Lodge Motel and the General Store in Clarksville,
and a high school Sunday school class teacher.
Survivors include his widow, Susan King Wilcox; one daughter, Kirsten
Wilcox; parents, Joy Wilcox of Fairfield Bay and Ed and Carolyn Wilcox
of Mountain View; one brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Patricia Wilcox
of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Heidi of Mountain View; and nieces and nephews,
Jordan of St. Louis, Mo., and Cody, Corey and Haleigh of Mountain View.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at the Shirley
School auditorium with Tom Underhill and Rick Rana officiating. Arrangements
were by Roller McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton.
Memorials may be made to the Shirley School Foundation for the science laboratory.
Reva Myrtle Byrd, 96, of Wichita, Kan., died Thursday, May 30. 2002,
in Wichita, Kan.
She was a former resident of Clarksville, daughter of the late Guy and
Clara Withrow Goodin, widow of Tom W. Byrd, and was preceded in death by
four children.
She is survived by one daughter, Ruby N. Garner of Wichita, Kan.; one
son, Thomas J. Byrd of Huntsville; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren;
and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Michael Pierson officiating. Burial will be in Hartman Cemetery.
Thelma F. Chappell, 84, of Clarksville died Saturday, June 1, 2002,
at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of Knoxville First Baptist Church and Fellowship Sunday
School Class, native of Pine Bluff, and was preceded in death by one son,
Lewis Chappell; one sister, Geneva Allred; and one brother, W. C. Harden.
Survivors include her husband, Norman Chappell; one daughter, Lorene
Thackston of Russellville; one son, Don Chappell of Clarksville; one sister,
Dorothy Henderson of North Little Rock; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, at Knoxville First Baptist Church
with Rev. Richard Snyder officiating.
Burial was in Knoxville Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral
Home.

Viola Pearl Callaham Freeman Zahn, 84, of Catoosa, Okla., formerly of
Lamar, died Friday, May 31, 2002, at Catoosa, Okla.
She was a daughter of the late Arthur and Nora Mae Crotts Callaham,
widow of Wilburn Freeman and Carl Zahn, Baptist, retired caregiver nurse,
and member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by four sons, one infant, Kenneth, James and
Roy Freeman; one brother, Leon Callaham; and two sisters, Erma Henderson
and Billie Jean (Berg) Martin.
She is survived by six daughters and five sons-in-law, Mrs. Bill (Alma)
Brooks of Joplin, Mo., Mrs. Doy (Wilma) Pledger of Coweta, Okla., Mrs.
Kenneth (Pauline) Forbes of Broken Arrow, Okla., Mrs. James (Ernestine)
McMullen of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Don (Brenda) Ellis of Inola, Okla., Mrs.
Steve (Linda) Cross of Clarksville, and Edna Freeman of Hooker, Okla.;
two sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel and Pam Freeman of Nowata, Okla.,
and Floyd and Tammy Freeman of Lamar; two sisters, Mrs. John (Izola) Drittler
of Lamar and Mrs. Walley (Betty) Peterson of Oark; two brothers, Vincent
Callaham of Dewitt and Roy Dean Callaham of Lamar; one sister-in-law, Mary
Callaham of Sherrill; 24 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and three
great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev.
Amos Pledger and Rev. Travis Miller officiating. Burial was in Holman Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Greg Freeman, Jeff Freeman, Bo Freeman, Rick Pledger, Jeff McMullen and Kenneth Freeman.
Willie E. Stansbury, 72, of Lamar died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at his
home.
He was born at Horatio, son of the late Willie and Viola Hooks Stansbury,
retired criminal investigator and a Baptist.
Survivors are his widow, Avelina Stansbury; three daughters, Cathy Lewis
of Corona, Calif., and Kandi Haven and Annie Haven, both of San Juan Capistrano,
Calif.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gregor and Lisa Stansbury
of Anaheim, Calif., Robert and Frances Stansbury of Buena Park, Calif.,
and Paul Haven of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; five sisters, two brothers;
four brothers-in-law; and two grandchildren.
Funeral and burial will be Thursday, June 6, in San Clemente, Calif. Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
